One of the major RP hubs has been generally overtaken by god-moders and kiddies, and it felt like pulling teeth to get people together. I'm not a big fan of huge events, because I find myself standing around talking to nobody, getting bored and going home an hour later.
I'm not sure what happened to the channel I made a while back, but it may still be functioning. Either way, regardless of the circumstances, I implore you to give it a try, and don't give up if it doesn't go well at first!
@EntropyMG I've been RPing for over 15 years and was playing LOTRO since Beta launch. I don't think there are anymore redeemable qualities to be found in the communities there. However, I will praise the kins that work their butts off to keep their members satisfied with "kin related RP" where they actually use the ENTIRE world instead of sticking in Bree as though it's the pinnacle of Middle-Earth.
Lore aside, Bree is a backwater town, nothing more.
Lore Master indeed. I totally didn't even realize that I picked up one of the hardest solo classes in the game when I rolled him, I just liked the idea of being a class that was familiar to me (it sounded like a caster. How wrong was I).
As for the roleplaying community, I will agree and admit that I also had a difficult time innitiating RP for the few months that I was on the Landroval server. The players are amazingly friendly, but good RP is not always readily available.
i have been interested in role-playing in a MMO, for quite some time but have never worked up the courage to do so. I have RPed in forums and such, but this....this would be new to me especially because i'm shy even if its online and i have learned that the internet is not always a nice place. so my questions are this:
1. whats the community like? are they friendly to newbies? ( i hate being a noob)
2. any advice for a starter. maybe pointing me in the right direction.
@XxcasualgamerXx Don't get it. No music from films. Combat is bad. Graphics are good but the armors below level 50 look gay. If you join for RP it depends. You have to type, /me attempts to hit casualgamer in the head. People are very serious about it, so I would RP with the noobs first. If you get it go on the laurelin server, there are RP vets there like Flannery and Seraile and Isilorbor who will take care of you!
@XxcasualgamerXx my suggestion would just be to go around t othe games and find what one hasa community and game mechanics you will enjoy, since most gave have a trial or f2p version that would help. personally i like the community on my server in lotro, but it all depends on what your looking for(i might suggest reading up on a server for any game befroe choosing it, becasue a games community can shift drastically from server to server)
hmm, you can change the chat colors. Hit "Esc" and go to the options, then select the chat tab in the right side of the window... there you can change OCC pink... or :)
Wow, this seems pretty nice. More than I expected anyways. Might have to give it a try. I was totally expecting an "I'm on a horse" reference at the end lol
