No room on that road to really explore the POWERBAND ...sounds like the jetting is a little off too. I did enjoy the front end lifting a tad at the end though ;o}
It's jetted for 400-600 ft elevation. It is rich when I take to mountains. Also if you listen to the end it's cleaned up. Takes a while for the chambers to get up to temp and start to work well.
Hey John, nice vid! I was out at the Gap last September when some vintage 2-stroke group was there, but I don't remember the name. They were all staying at the DG Resort. Man, your bike brings back good memories of my old high school RD 350! And the video brings back good memories of riding the Smokys!
Thanks "r", the vid was done this May at the spring 2stroke gathering. It was my first trip there. By the way I found a "cherry" 73 Rd and am picking it up 8-28. I'm hooked.
I picked it up today. It's already restored. I just rode it in from Quitman. The front brake is draging. When I get that fixed I will bring it by. John
What a shame. I looked for an RZ for a few years before I found the right one. It was definitely worth the wait. Nothing like looking in your mirrors and seeing big blue clouds of smoke!
Good luck with the bike, it looks and sounds great.
Thanks for the comment and 5star rating. I grew up on 2stroke street bikes in the late 60's and got the urge to restore on last year. This video was made the end of May this year at the East Coast 2stroke annual meeting. There were three RZ350's there and I'm sad to say a GSXR crossed the centerline and hit one of the RZ's both guys walked away I heard but the RZ got hurt real bad.

Hey, I hope you bring it by the Sun-Times before you do anything to it, so I can see the before and after...--rkemp929

Awesome bike!
I have a 1985 RZ350. I love the sound of a two-stroke getting on the pipe and taking off. Good stuff.
