  • this is amazing, this might sound silly, but are these chalk based?? and when you use the brush, are you adding water??

  • @MayonaiseKing100 Thank you for youyr interest. The pastel pencils I used are chlkbased but I do not use any water with them. The tool you see me use is a rubber ended colour shaper, used to smooth the pastel together.

    Kind regards

    Colin.

  • Dear Colin,

Your gift to the world is amazing. I would like to add that, most children do not have access to painting on a daily basis...but pastels are something most schools and homes can "handle". :) You open up a whole new perspective on what pastel drawing can accomplish. Thank you.

  • @marth231 Thank you for your kind comments, they are much appeciated.

    Best wishes Colin.

  • @luomas2 In the UK the price of the pastel pencil is £1.40 - £1.60 depending on the retailer. Hope this answers your query. Regards Colin.

  • Hey, i would love to draw like you! could u make a guide on knowing your positioning, i cant make it so it looks like something is in the back and the front, it all looks close up! thank you! YOUR FANTASTIC! :)

  • Thank you for your kind comments and your question. The trick here is to fade the background by using weaker colours and then applying stronger colours to the foreground. I hope that this helps you.

    Regards Colin.

  • Hi,

I am a beginner and i am learning pastels through internet. Can you please tell me what have you used with the brush to give the drawing a liquify effect?

  • The brush you see me use in the clip is in fact a colour shaper. It is made of a rubbery material and is ideal for blending the pastel into the pastel paper.

    Best wishes Colin.
