Please post up some proof of the car you claim to have. Most all of the TT 850s that google turned up are barely making 500 whp. That wont do anything against my GTR.

The 540 looks as if it is an automatic/none-sport model. These have 2.81 rear ends. Sport models come with the M5 ratio 3.15 which is a significant difference. For example, I ran a stock none sport 740i with a 2.81 diff in the 1/4 mile and got 15.0-15.2, but with a 3.15 rear end the car would do 14.4-14.6@96-98.
In the video the car looks very close with the Z despite the 2.81 rear end and slushbox. My 6spd + 3.15 rear/I/E trapped ran 13.5's@104
nice Z HR engine with good mods give a lot of diff sure u can walk with m3s but u can beat them specifically the e46 ones they r untouchables on high ends3rd gear and beyond :)
Totally fair race. I've been dead even with some bolt on 350s in my stock E36 M3 and usually pull on most of them now, with a few bolt-ons. Shit happens, videos are better than bench racing. 540s, M3s, and 350s are all pretty good choices, it comes down to preference and how much space you need.

Yep, the 370 is easily capable of low 13's. Car and driver just tested one two days ago, and it pulled something like 13.1 at 108 stock, and that's with an auto.
In fact, an 07-08 350Z with the HR engine is capable of low 13's with good driving. The best time is 13.1 on the forums.
By the way, this Z in the video is an older automatic model with the old engine. 287hp + mods. 14.0 stock.

Don't race him unless you can drive well. The specs of the 2 cars are too similar to risk $500. A great driver in an 08Z would pull the 545, but one mistake and he has you.
The clicks are from me hitting my pedal stop on my clutch. This is there so i don't have to use the full travel of the pedal, as the clutch engagement and disengagement are very high up. I am no slouch when it comes to shifting so i can see people thinking its an auto, but its not.

word, last thursday i beat a z350 with my 01 540i 6 speed spt.he came up startin stuff so, so we raced i got up to 140mph and he couldn't hang. V8 power rules
funny thing my buddy got a 540i 6 speed and it is a 2000 model. I seem to beat him everytime we race. Dont get me wrong i love both cars, i almost bought a m5 before i bought the z, i love both cars but truth is the 540i weight's more and has less hp then the z, now the new models still weight more then the z by a good 600 to 700 pounds and they have a good 300 to 320 hp but there 0-60 is 5.8 sec compared to the z 5.3 and traction off
if both cars are stock, then you can have a match but there is no way that a modded z is comparable to a 540, if you want to get a race with a modded z then throw a supercharger on the 540 and it's unstoppable, litteraly you have to change the brakes and everything else just to acclaim the 540i with the supercharger.

funny thing my buddy got a 540i 6 speed and it is a 2000 model. I seem to beat him everytime we race. Dont get me wrong i love both cars, i almost bought a m5 before i bought the z, i love both cars but truth is the 540i weight's more and has less hp then the z, now the new models still weight more then the z by a good 600 to 700 pounds and they have a good 300 to 320 hp but there 0-60 is 5.8 sec compared to the z 5.3 and traction off

if both cars are stock, then you can have a match but there is no way that a modded z is comparable to a 540, if you want to get a race with a modded z then throw a supercharger on the 540 and it's unstoppable, litteraly you have to change the brakes and everything else just to acclaim the 540i with the supercharger.

and I think that the z has a turbo because you see it pulling away late, and BMW is known that it pulls late not on first take off.

350z: 3400lbs, 280hp+ some mods, manual tranny.
540: 3800lbs, 280hp with no mods, auto tranny.
