  • so fucking intense

  • First and foremost I would have fucked all of these captive women and then ate them. That is all...

  • this is the real horror, the reality

  • So they were mutants that broke out of the basement and started slaughtering the guys upstares?

  • @MisterHeizenberg lolz no. More like they were killing them so they could eat them.

  • the imagery in the book during this part is way better than the movie...theres other gnarly parts in the book that they left out of the movie too.

  • F*ck, I forgot how good this movie is.

  • Read the book, it's incredible. Cormac McCarthy is the greatest living author.

  • this film actually made me vegetarian.

  • I'm getting hungry, don't know why?

  • @curbhash

The best answer I would be able to give is that if you cut only the legs, feet, arms, etc... off, you don't kill the person, thus you keep the "meat fresh". If you kill a person (or animal) entirely, you only have a small window were the "meat" is fresh and than it rots. That's my best guess at your question.

  • This film will haunt me forever.

  • The actor really must have had to starv themselves like hell.

  • @curbhash keeps the meat fresh

  • This was the scariest scene in the movie.

  • This movie is so sad.. The whole movie you never feel relaxed and cozy. But it is really a great movie

  • Very scary, disturbing, and I wont look at my neighbors the same way again. I would rather die than eat a person.

  • Disgusting.

That's the only word I have to describe the cannibals.

    How could someone do that!

  • @TheSuburbanBase when it comes to a world that has nothing people would do anything to survive but i always thought well if i survive im deppressed about finding more food i would rather die then live in that kind of world

  • @warhead213 nah if i have a woman by my side. i would want to live that kind of world more than this world. because everything between us would be more real and emotinal. trying to survive is such a good advanture.

  • @selcuk61 its torture to me

  • @selcuk61 are you for real?

  • @selcuk61 But thats the problem youll never be able to have a woman by your side...

  • @acid9rain2dr0ps yeah i will never have. i know the fact. i am looking for altarnative solutions.

  • hahah thats fucking Disturbind lol.

''ah im hungry, ill just go down and chop some duds limb off and eat it yummi!''

  • when i read the book i knew instantly the house was a trap when it talked about the string tied to a bell outside when they walked in...

  • I know many in that situation would've not been thinking clearly and are desperate to look for food, but the father didn't pay attention to the red flags. The son saw it. The cooking pots outside. The sharp instruments. The pile of boots and clothes. The sliver of flesh hanging from the hooks in the basement--no livestock so it couldn't have been pork or beef.

  • Hey try watching this movie stoned.…and then you can bitch

  • lol the old man is like "have you come to rape me so more?! w8 im not that old. my ass hole is still juicy! come back!" this movie was the best ive seen in my life

  • @RedGun15 HAHAHAHAHA yeah..... you're a sick fuck.

  • as long as i had some Reggae Reggae Sauce, i could easily chow down on some kids.

  • NOO ARAGORRN!

  • would've made more sense for the man to have a zippo. i mean how long would a bic lighter last. certainly not the 11 or so years since the apocalyptic event.

  • @TheOrigionalArroyo He "carries the fire" remember. The lighter runs off his will rather than lighter fluid.

  • @yaxxee um no the book clearly describes a zippo like lighter and i know it is because he fills it with stale gas and when he dropps it in the celler with the people it was still lit and he saw the sickly faces.

  • @TheOrigionalArroyo Nevermind, I was just making a bad joke.

  • @yaxxee

    I loled :D

  • I really am weirded out that I found the whole thing funny, especially for this scene. I was laughing hysterically and like my mom asked me: "Why are you so evil?"

  • @lizzylizardson I know right! Because it's so realistic! History has shown that when people starve they end up eating each other!!!

  • I thought this was going to be a zombie movie like 28 Days Later when I saw the people in the cellar!

  • This movie is crazy and sad people trying to kill other people to eat them! What kind of movie is this! It's too sad and it's terrible that people kill other people and eat them

  • Is that scene in the book too? I read it and I can't remember.

  • I almost shat my pants in this scene, it was sooooooo good.

  • What did they mean by "they're taking us to the smokehouse!" And who said it...?

  • @cakeyguitar havent you been to the Smokehouse? Its this cool new restaurant where they do ribs and sticky BBQ sauce. (seriously, they smoke the meat on the limbs so it lasts longer)

  • I don't know if you can tell, but the people in the basement have their feet cut off too.

  • @ImagineA92 damn really ?

  • The scene where they hide in the bushes and hear people getting slaughtered: Actually, I think they rape people first and then slaughter them since the person you can hear shouting in the movie is a woman...not sure though, I'm just assuming. Anyway, this scene is pretty disturbing and is that a nose I can see in the sink?

  • This film is grim, dark and depressing in a horrible way and this scene was the worst part, especially the grunts and screams of the people in the larder and the sight of the cooking pots! ugh.

I couldn't sleep the night after I watched this film. For some reason this scene really touched a nerve.

  • @got2hurt

Pretty realistic too, if you think about it. If the world does go to hell (and it most likely will at the rate we're going; I'm maybe guessing in the next fifty years), then man's true, dark nature will be truly revealed; acts like cannibalism, cruelty, and the sense of freedom from law and order.

  • @got2hurt same

  • @got2hurt same here the night i watched it i could only sleep for 2 and a half hours

  • i feel sry for the guy who was holding on to the father, he was only asking for help

  • This is really f. up.

  • thats not radmon at all

  • Im dissapointed the guy with no legs on the bed isnt in here. Still good scene, but i think they could have done more with it, espesially when you get the vivid description from the book.

  • When Viggo nearly shoots the boy to spare him being fattened up was the hardest thing to watch ever in a movie for me. In fact, it did too good a job yanking my heartstrings. Nothing could have been more gripping, so I was never as invested and the rest of film suffered.

  • This scene gives me the willies!

  • You left the most disturbing part out. The one where they're hiding in the bushes and listen to the people getting slaughered. Great and realistic movie.

  • @monkiball True, but I didn't make these clips. These were posted online a month or so before the release. You'll notice that these scenes are shorter than they are in the movie. Had I made these clips, I would've kept that part in there. Definitely..

  • @andrewXransom I remember that from the book but was it in the movie?

  • @monkiball They werent actually slaughtering them.. they would simply cut off limbs and organd and keep them alive to keep the bodies (or meat) fresh. Pretty disturbing. Also if you notice in the scene, down in the basement there is a piece of human flesh (next to the excrement), implying that they wanted to feed them with their own flesh to keep them nourished.

  • @monkiball they were not actaully being killed, they were being kept alive and having limbs chopped off one by one

  • @monkiball That was disturbing, but I'd have to disagree on most disturbing. The most disturbing part was the dad having no choice but to end his son's life so he wouldn't suffer a fate worst than death.

  • @monkiball Were the people who were in the basement getting killed or were the people with guns getting killed?

  • @remen3 take a guess

  • this film depressed me so much!

  • Loved this scene, but the question that bothers me is the amount of resources it would take to keep your collection of humans alive long enough to eat.

  • hope this will never ever happen

  • @otabi8 I think we all feel the same way. The question is how can we guarantee that it never will? Remember, The Road isn't about the end of the world. It's about the end of humanity. This isn't to far away from reality as it is. The message provided here is, Can we better ourselves or are we just monster's at heart? If the world was ravaged, would we come together and rise up to rebuild? or descend into something worse than madness........nothingness?

  • humans make the best monsters in the movie industry tbh

  • I watched it last night. My god it was AMAZING. I loved it so much. But this was one of the most frightening scenes ive ever seen. But I cant get over how well done it all was ^^

  • I have never been so traumatized as I was watching this movie. It was the most depressing, heart stopping, traumatizing thing I have ever seen in my life! I am still bothered by it and I can't sleep as this scene keeps playing in my head. I am not watching it right now, it's hidden by my browser. Thank goodness. I suppose it's because it is very believable. If the world did come to that state, this is exactly how people would act. Exactly. Creepy.

  • @solanut

Stop being a sack of shit and watch some Denver the last dinosaur, bitch.

  • i would have shot my son it would be more torchure watchin ur son get slashed and eaten by canibals

  • solanut you are a fuckin pussy obviously movies like this are not meant for you so go watch something more your style and degree of "intelligence" like the hannah montana movie or the jonas brothers. and by the way no one wants to hear about your diarrhea...you talk about ugly sick ass shit yet you mention that shit, yeah good goin.

  • Very sad movie =(

  • @solanut dude I just rented that movie and that never happened yes it is a disturbing movie but it shows that thats probably gonna happen wen the world ends and there are survivors

  • DAMN PEOPLE MAKE NASTY UGLY SICK ASS FUCKING MOVIES THESE DAYS MAN ESPECIALLY THE UNRATED VERSION WHERE THE SCENE WITH THE WOMAN GIVING BIRTH SLIGHTING ITS THROHT ND EATING IT LITTLE BY LITTLE TILL NINE MONTHS FOR THE NEXT BABY YEAH GUYS I FUCKING THREW UP HAD NIGHTMARES DIARRHEA OMFG!!!!!!!!.....

  • @solanut: you have absolutely no taste in real theatre

  • @solanut -Nobody cares what you think. It was a great movie, and its trying to show how desperate people can be, and how in the worst of times anybody can be suddenly turned into a sick depraved monster. You need to grow up and think of what the scene is trying to represent rather than the nature of the scene itself you big crybaby. Of course the scene was frightening, and quite horrific, but come on, its nothing you cant get over by watching a few fluffy bunnies nom on some treats! Its fiction!

  • their clothes worn in the book were tattered rags.

They look like they just got back from Eddie Bauer

  • why not just kill all the people and cure or smoke them? it doesn't make any sense, they can't get any fatter in a basement. why would you take diminishing returns and the chance you might loose all you stockpiled food?

  • @minamur I agree! All that energy spent by those people keeping themselves alive is energy lost from their capacity as food!

  • @minamur trying to find an answer, the only that comes in my mind,is that if they get dead, they might slightly start melt or something and like that, lose their food.

  • I just saw this movie (dumb ass Mexico always late when it comes to not so commercial movies) and it was fantastic. Vigo, as always, doing a spectacular job. But the kid, oh man, he was the soul of the whole movie. I almost wept with him when his dad died, I swear :(

  • @FractalBolt If I hadn't seen the movie yet I'd be extremely pissed off at your spoiler

  • i liked the scene better, how it was in the book.

  • Looks like a very good movie, but.. I think I would have to be in the right mood to sit through it.

  • @jaybird321 It's definitely a mood movie. It's also a "don't have any lights on in the room" movie. Very, very dark.

  • @andrewXransom yeah true I watched it in a darkened room but when it was finished it was 110 degrees hot as hell warm summers day outside and I sware to god I never apreciated green cut grass, sprinkler in my garden then I did. I know I might sound like a pussy but if you've seen this then you know what I mean

  • wow he was going to shoot to his son!!!! i can't imagine what i would do!! great movie!!!

  • Is this out already? I can0t find it in any teather :S

  • i think u can find it in a indie theatre

  • We did have to grow beards for this scene you just cannot see them that well. I was one of the bad guys.

  • this is one of my favorite movies of all time, super effected me.

  • Hey there bad guy (cuz). Nice to see you in this clip. Looking forward to seeing the whole movie. Good Job ! DMR & FAM !

  • Thanks!

  • If I had to live off people I kept in a basement, I wouldn't share my booze with NOBODY!

  • @muaythaimark - in all honesty, me neither.

  • Different from the novel - yes - but no less intense. Hmmm...worth a look maybe.

  • so intense. ive read it three times and im still nervous. different but just a touch... they run through the other side and hide in the woods and watch the road... at least there will be a few surprises like this for those that love the book. fantastic... i just found these clips. cannot wait for 11-25.

  • i'm disappointed that they changed it, but the setting is exactly how i pictured it

  • this part of the book had my adrenaline pumping

  • UUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHH. why did they have to pick the scene -when he tells his son to shoot himself- to change in the movie! it was one of my favs in the book, it was so sad and intense. Now its just.....like.......sigh. SIGHHHH.

  • But didn't he tell his son how to shoot himself in the book? I think I remember his saying "pull the trigger hard", or something like that. I gave my copy of the book away.

  • yeah he did.. i just dont like it how they changed this scene from lying in the snow and him telling his son to kill himself if he doesnt come back or something like that. to the dad actually about to shoot his son himself. ya ya ya. the scene was very emotional in the book for me. But not the movie scene.

  • I think all these movie clips have been edited all to pieces. They don't make sense really and they just seem oddly pieced together. I bet they'll make more sense emotionally and dramatically in the whole movie, which is out in some cities, but not where I am.

  • Yes he did! He told his son, to put it in his mouth, point upward and pull the trigger. Imagine having to tell a child that!

  • its been like a year since I read the book, but wasn't there a dude on a mattress in this scene whose limbs were being harvested? he was missing a leg i think.

  • Yeah were currently reading the book for class LOL BTW OUR TEACHERS TAKING US AT THE END OF THE MONTH TO SEE THE MOVIE HAHHA no but really yeah some guys on the bed with his legs cut off or w.e

  • My beef with this cannibal scene, hehe, is this:

It doesn't make as much sense as the same scene in the book. In this one, Viggo is too eager to shoot the kid.

In the other, he gives the gun to kid(or is going to) so the kid can shoot himself. The plan being Viggo would run away, drawing the cannibals away too. Then the son either can get away or off himself.

In years of being in that world, he'd have killed the kid long ago if he gives in to panic so easy.

  • Well, shit...who would want their son to end up in that disgusting cellar, while also being eaten by smelly rednecks, lol.

  • He wasn't giving in to panic, he simply thought they were finally going to get caught no matter what they did... so he had to kill the boy if that was true, but he just couldn't in the book.

  • Looks amazing! I can't wait any longer! John Hillcoat is a fantastic director.

  • It all looks perfect, except the cannibals were supposed to be bearded, and well, I didn't imagine them that clean...

  • Agreed. I don't think many survivors would keep up with their facial hair.

But it's an artistic choice. If everyone had a beard, it might seem that all the "bad guys" are copy/pasted. Varying faces is nice.

  • Or it would look like a band of ZZ Top impersonators, and that would just be silly. but anywho the movie looks awesome

  • @andrewXransom In the book everyone wore masks because of the ash everywhere.

  • its not that hard to shave with a sharpened knife

  • @Joel354vanfanel Inorder for hair to grow, you need the right nutrients, without them hair wont be growing...so actually they should have been totally bald.

  • @Joel354vanfanel i dont think they would becuase some of them were women and they were starving to death so the body doesnt act the same with someone with food
