The final Hubble servicing mission now slated for launch late August 2008--next year--STS-125--that Atlantis on her last mission sadly. Another vehicle will be sitting on the other pad ready to launch a rescue if need be--because the Hubble mission does not have the safe haven of ISS if Atlantis is damaged.

Hubble's primary mirror was ground to the wrong shape--the curve of the mirror was off by 1/50 the thickness of a human hair--caused the telescope to send back blurry images--before the 1993 repair mission.
