I went to Auschwitz-Birkenau last yr with the HET and I watched this film for the first time yesterday...it genuinely feels like somethings punched me in the chest, seeing it dramatised. We saw the inside of gas chambers, they're like caves, just rock on the inside, they look nothing like showers in the slightest. They were cold and terrifying, even 70 years later. There were gallows and row on row of shacks where people were supposed to 'live'

My point is, we can't forget those who died.

Imagine this happening to an actual old person...and there were billions more people that were treated badly as well. German people are so wonderful, warm & friendly...I know a few...but the whole Hitler/Nazi part of history is just one of the darkest times in the world's history. This was a very moving movie & I'm sure Rupert's role went against the sweetness of his nature. But he did an awesome job.
