  • @sillylewis hi ik its like 3 months later but ths is for u if u havent done anything yet, n the other ppl. im 11 using my friends account. My curve is 55 degrees n im getting my surgery next month. ik how u feel. i almost passed out from sprinting half a mile bc one of my lungs is like getting crushed. anyway, the specialist told me tht my curve was so bad, tht itd never be straight or else id be paralyzed, so they could fix it so it could be 18-25 degrees, but its barely noticable anymore...

  • @chick22az Hi! She had her surgery in Nov. 2010 to have rods wired to her spine. She is doing great! She's so much more comfortable and sits so much better in her wheelchair!!!! She also is so much more aware of her surroundings now that she's not fighting to hold her head up. Good luck with your's!!!!! My daughter went from 74 degrees to 29 degrees. A HUGE difference!!!

  • @chick22az glad everything is okay, my op is set for september ,so fingers crossed .

  • Hi! She is doing much much better now. Her curve was 54 degrees laying down but 73 degrees sitting up. With the rods she is now 29 degrees but more importantly her trunk is now centered over her pelvis now. This is actually more important that the degree of the curve. If you ever have any questions, post here and I will respond to you.

  • hi um this is really sad to watch. i have scoliosis too and im 15. may i ask what degrees were the bends in here back. i here that they operate above 45-50 degrees. im really worryed because the degrees of turn in my back is 57...please reply

    thankyou

  • @sillylewis1 my lil bros back was 57 degrees too. he just had surgery two days ago and its looking good. its been 5 months since u made this post so im gunna assume u either had the surgery or are planning for it now, hows it coming along?

  • @MrTank116 hi , thats good to hear :)

my operation is booked for september the 21st i think ( a bit later thn we hoped) but im nervous to tell you the truth. my back now has a thorac curve of 62degree and lumbar curve of 22. the pain is now just constant and dull, but ive been taking pain killer to help. hope your bro is okay :) thankyou

  • @sillylewis1 Trust me you will do just fine. my bro had two lumbar curves but minor, and a thorac curve. his surgery went great and he is feeling alot better (even without medication for long periods of time :D) im 15 too so i cant imagine what school is like. best of luck to you and godbless.

  • Oh my i'm in tears after watching this I feel so bad for her I know what the pain is like I had both my surgeries less than a month ago and oh I suffered real bad, but oh gosh I hope she's on the road to recovery now she's just a baby! I'm going to say a prayer for her, best wishes!

  • @KatieOdowdcfc I just had to respond to you to let you know she's had her surgery and is doing WONDERFUL!!!!! We welcome your prayers! Thank you!!!

  • What actually causes all the spine to curve and twist ? TT make me cry seeing her suffering . so is the operation done ?

  • @xxxAlphaxxx5 She has Aicardi Syndrome. It's rare and only affects girls. Scoliosis is very common among the girls with this syndrome. She's doing much better now since the surgery she had on 11/16. They put rods on each side and wired them to her spine. This corrected it (not sure how much yet) and will prevent it from curving ever again. Of course she is still recovering but the surgery itself was a success.

  • @TheScrmom6 So does she need a brace for it ? and is this Aicardi Syndrome the same as Rett syndrome ? as it also usually effects girls only.

  • @xxxAlphaxxx5 No, she does not need a brace. The rods are wired to her spine and won't be going anywhere.

  • @TheScrmom6 Oh i see...it will last forever right ?

  • @TheScrmom6 Does a brace help her too ?
