  • oh this is so beautiful. I usually listen to Rock n' Roll bands like KISS or G n' R and Pop such as Gaga, but I also need classic music like this :)

  • my second song when i was learning piano first one is fur elise

  • now i have more peace of mind

  • Here's a good reason so many people 'feel' they've heard this before. Search for 'The Toys .......A Lovers Concerto'

  • i was looking for scary g-major

  • I heard Bach for the first time a quarter of a century ago and thought he was a genius. He has sounded better every time I have played him since. It just sounds like the harmony, balance and proportion that must lie within the heart and soul of the universe. Words are a blunt instrument. Music is a sensual rather than a cerebral experience. Just play some Bach. You'll know what I mean. He said it better without words.

  • remember mi piano class

  • i agree with @caddencadden i feel i heard this music somewhere before when i was very young and i loved it for some bizarre reason. And when i discover it nowadays i feel very happy.

  • Awesome

  • "J S Back was a German composer and keyboard player..."

Can't help but imagine Bach on the synthesizer playing Toccata and Fugue in D minor.

  • awesome

  • Fantastico!

  • Another type of minuet: /watch?v=hUmM_hqu9Ao

  • /watch?v=x5vI108_wDA

    Minha execução no piano =)

  • this is so f***ing pretty! :')

  • I Cant Hear It Evan Though I Put It On The Highest It Could!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mozart may be the best but Bach is never too flashy he just hits it home.

  • Bach looks like he has to take a shit in that picture.

  • first and only song I know how to play on a piano XD

  • I'm having a nostalgic fit

  • one of the first pieces for many beggining players

  • I have to say Bach is better than Beethoven now cause of minuet

  • Guys, stop arguing and listen to this masterpiece. If you don't wanna listen to this music, fine with me, but please take your beef somewhere else.

I prefer chicken over beef, jussayin~

  • this music is simply beautiful

  • What is the final word on who composed this piece?

  • :) im playing this song on my flute

  • @youureebeautiifulllx me too! (:

  • @youureebeautiifulllx OMG you're my annoying neighbor child

  • An interesting and updated variation of this piece can be found on youtube, electric dreams duet. You won't be disappointed.

  • This was like one of the songs I learned playing on the violin when i was like 5

  • Fucking love headbanging to this shit yall!!!

  • Perfect!!

    Estupend!!

  • Excellent!!!

  • oh for f*ck sake. he wrote this piece as well? there are so many pieces of music i heard as a young boy and they keep on turning out to be written by bach!

  • @caddencadden

Actually, he didn't. I don't know why it's still sometimes attributed to Bach. Since the 70s, it's been pretty well known that this was written by Petzold, not Bach.

  • @caddencadden This was not composed by Bach actually. It's misleadingly attributed to Bach. Not that I am taking away anything from his genius. He composed more masterpieces than every other composer combined imo.

  • @caddencaddenss

At least you have good memories of those times. When I was a kid, there was this odd TV commercial for an Italian coffee brand (Segafredo) in which a very bizarre man with an unbearable little moustache drank coffee at the sound of Bach’s Badinerie.

Needless to say, I still feel shivers down my spine today every time I listen to that music.

  • @caddencadden

The title should be changed from "Bach- Minuet in G major" to "Petzold- Minut in G major" instead. It's about time we give credit to the proper cmposer Christian Petzold (1677-1733) who wrote the piece for a harpsichord in Dresden. This is an established fact since 1970. What good is updating electronic devices when the info don't update?

The piece was in the Anna M. Notebook in the Bach family collection an for many years attributed to JS Bach himself.

    Nice muic though...

  • @caddencadden well, in fact it is now universally attributed to Christian Petzold... not Bach.

  • @caddencadden I guess that means when you're looking for music, you're always coming Bach!

  • @PhantomWerewolf boom. haha

  • @caddencadden you realize their were many generations of Bach's that were musicians Johann Sebastian Bach was like the fithth generation of musician in the Bach family

  • @bman1248 Still, many of these are ascribed to JS Bach, as opposed to CPE Bach.

  • @caddencadden: Bach wrote scads and oodles of chamber music for the court of his time. If you can set your watch by the beat of the music, then it is most probably Baroque period, and most likely Bach. Bach and Handel wrote a lot of the music of this time period that way. Look up the Bach concertos or Handel's "Messiah" oratorio.

  • @caddencadden Here's one maybe you don't know - Jethro Tull did an instrumental in the late sixties, with the flute the major instrument, called 'bouree'. J.S. Bach wrote it for the classical guitar.

  • @caddencadden you seem like a nice kid, but while listening to this being stoned, i skipped half the song, cause i couldnt find your reaction, but seeing as it is highest, damn it. lol, just wanted to share that with you. enjoy the beautiful classical tunes :) cheers buddy

  • Sounds better in A Major in my opinion....

  • @Gary3072

This actually is in A major, they made mistake, but iihave a version that is in G but I prefer A too.

  • cool

  • i loved playing this song!!

  • am i the only lone that thought this would sound satanic cos of the g major like the rest of the videos? lol

  • quarreling for Mozart or Bach...KIDs just listen what u like and stfu

  • @nomorespooks2 ... oh dear. this is clearly a field of politics we disagree on. never mind, let's enjoy the music.

  • @nomorespooks2 i'm afraid that i cannot agree with you on that. racism is wrong full stop, as is the term "nigga". that's official and you are right to agree. but islam is a religion that promotes peace and love. people claiming they're muslim whilst promoting violence and hatred are not muslim, they're evil. so when you say "muslim invasions", you must mean "religious extremism", i.e. using religion as an excuse to hurt people. muslims despise those terrorists who ruin their religion's name.

  • @nomorespooks2 i must say that i was becoming increasingly concerned for the future of Western Civilisation, when citizens of a superpower ruled by a man of African descent can freely indulge themselves in "nigga" culture. but you have calmed my fears, thank you.

  • and i know wolfgang is mozart. Just saying so people dont argue

  • Wolfgang or die

  • That's A major

  • enjoy the music and let your senses take you to a peaceful time and place.. enjoy

  • This was composed by Cristian Petzold, not Bach.

  • Who is that fat faced f*** shown in this video!! Is he retared!!!

  • @Pahjx the composer and single greatest advancement in music ever

  • I got kicked out of french class by humming to this, lol

  • Almora - No Turning Bach ;)

  • HOW CAN I DISLIKE D:

  • pretty sure Bach never played the keyboard

  • @1FastfingersMcgee1 no, he did.

  • @Shanelololol are you sure it's not the piano you're thinking of? keyboards use electricity.

  • This is mind-blowing music....He was the greatest German composer...His harpsichord copisitions are mind blowing.......I love his music....Ich leibe Bach....

  • The original piano score is in G major. This particular arrangement is in A. fuck all of you.

  • Is this song in Tales Of Vesparia ?

  • saved by the bell episode where jessie didn't want to go to the dance because of her height and slater kept asking her, she kept refusing. they played this song in mr. tuttles class

  • Classic music like this doesn't get nearly enough of the credit it should.

  • why isn't it lonngeeeeerrrrrrrrrr!!!??!

  • Comment removed

  • @MegaNozy Goddammit stop these, please stop the attempt to cleverly reference the number of dislikes.

  • i played this as a solo...but evertym i listen to it...i fall more in love

  • History well written, however (just to clarify):

There were several notebooks containing works hand-copied by members of Bach's family including Anna Magdalena, CPE, JC (photocopier n/a).

Minuet like other dances (Sarabande, Gavotte, Gigue) were common. As there are several Minuets in G in the Anna M. Notebook. Some have assigned catalog (BWV #). This one. however, does not. So have to assumed it was NOT written by Bach.

  • NO HELL VOICE NO LIKE

  • boy, bach looks mean. i would have never guessed by looking at him that he is the composer of such wonderful work of art. that said, it shows being judgmental is NOT the way to go

  • This music makes me want to sit on a big plastic mushroom.

  • BLISS

  • only that its in A major instead

  • The Toys - Lover's Concerto brought me here!

  • cool

  • exellent

  • i feel like a sir ! when i listen to to this

  • Hello *plays song* welcome to my house!

  • @mse100 LOL

  • This is so beautiful

  • Wait, this isn't scary.

    Damn.

  • I love Bach's music

  • but, this is NOT G-major

    it's A-major

    bad video

  • @gigaldo Totally agree i was about to post the same thing, but i checked if someone else had already posted it

  • just perfect... :)

  • So tender. I love it.

  • I love classical music and consider Bach as one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time, but at the music school, I hated learning his minuets. The ones I have played included this one. Since then, when I listen to this piece, it always reminds me of sweating over its notes in the past. Damn. Besides, I love Bach's music.

  • I feel so relaxed when I listen to minuet.

  • I had to do this for a violin exam a few years ago but I used to practice it so much my 4 year old sister started calling it "Sissy's Song" I am sissy. She is 4 and can sing this entire song, it's beautiful how classic music can touch people.

  • A major

  • Listen to "A Lover's Concerto" by The Toys. It is the same melody.

  • @lucas07700 It's true! Pretty cool, that!

  • @TheWeddingLover rich in feelings? haha me too

  • he was fat

  • @blackshimi - Wasn't being called fat a compliment in those days? It meant you were very wealthy, and i'm very sure Bach was!

  • Bach can make Organ music hellish and G Major heavenly : /

  • im looking for the wrong g major lol

  • I love songs that are 3/4.

  • I've got perfect pitch. Can someone please explain to me why I hear A major not G? Is this some sort of Baroque tonality which I have not yet read about?

  • @U2becommenter lol ur not crazy its obviously not g major, how fail

  • I've had this stuck in my head for days not knowing the title happend to come across it as a related vidieo to night on bald mountain how cool is that!?

  • this was one of the first pieces i learned on the piano when i was about 7, and i still love it so much

  • >.< this one is not in G major, is in A major =S anyway is awesome

  • @HellsofHidden Haha, yeah. The first thing I thought was, "This is A Major... Good try, though." :)

  • @singingXroses Yeah, i'm not the only one =')

  • @HellsofHidden I totally agree, this one is in A-Major not G-Major.

  • @BKDBrian2 But the original is in G major, i think that's why this one have that title

  • Efteling!

  • so simple but such a msterpiece

  • you cannot descirbe in words, but only in feeling

  • That nigga's face does not fit in with this music

  • @Sullivanwushere Im laughing way more than I should.

  • @Sullivanwushere dude u jus like ruined this song by sayin that

  • @booyah142 hello 'dude' this ain't a song.

    .

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • @WistfulnessLonging umm ok dude now your just trying to provoke a fight, don't be like that, that makes u look bad

  • @booyah142 Dude, you just completely undervalued the greatness of this piece by referring to it as a "song".

  • @Sullivanwushere now thts fuckin funny

  • @Sullivanwushere your ignorance doesn't fit in with this music, or indeed this century. So badass you feel the need to use racial slurs on the INTERNET, where people can't touch you. WOW.

  • @hopelesscynic1 Hurr, I'm so COOL. I capitalize random WORDS.

  • @hopelesscynic1 He was obviously being funny. If you're too stupid to realize that, and have to start talking shit to someone "on the INTERNET, where people can't touch you. WOW." then you should just not comment at all.

  • @badrowbot i'm sorry, how old are you, twelve? i'm not sure what shack you grew up in, but i would have thought that you knew by now that "nigga" is not only offensive, but abusive. and i'm all for humour, but racism is not funny, never has and never will be. now, if you're too inbred to understand that, it's not your fault. just try not to use "hurr" as a comeback, it's not a word, it's a farmyard noise.

  • @hopelesscynic1 I was trying to appeal to your language. Retard is what you speak isn't? Because that's all I'm reading. I think it would help you to know that "sullivanwushere" is black, and I am his white friend. Who are you to call us racist? You don't fucking know either of us, so don't even start insulting people and talking trash over the internet. "Nigga" is more commonly used as a term for "buddy" now-a-days, rather than as a racist term. If he wanted to be offensive, he'd say "nigger".

  • @badrowbot i understand that "nigga" is a non-racist term among some black people, but it is commonly offensive and i wouldn't be too impressed if somebody called me that. i wouldn't be too offended if he said it in an off-hand way about a "buddy", but you surely can see why someone would think it an insult when a completely anonymous source puts it online, as you cannot hear his tone or whether he's a republican redneck with a rifle. clearly a misunderstanding. truce?

  • @hopelesscynic1 Ahaha, I don't know why a republican redneck with a rifle would be searching up Bach in the first place, but yes. I'm done here.

  • @badrowbot i'll second that.

  • @badrowbot @hopelesscynic1 nigger please

  • @paintballer058 G shit.

  • @badrowbot because we can appreciate music too, dumbshit. you dont have to be a liberal pussy to enjoy that

  • @hopelesscynic1 I don't forgive you, you're a fuckin jerk.

  • @Sullivanwushere ... that "nigga" is offensive? i'm not well acquainted with american humour, but over on this side of the pond it is highly offensive. and i'm indifferent to your forgiveness, because i didn't ask for it. i proposed a truce to your friend because he/she clearly explained the misunderstanding. i have every right to get angry for racist abuse. if anyone called me a "nigger" to my face i'd knock them out, and i would hope you would too.

  • @hopelesscynic1 you're a fucking jerk

  • @Sullivanwushere look, this is a pointless disagreement. it sounded like you were saying that that horrible pic of bach looked like a "nigga", thus insulting black ppl and anyone politically correct. im not a "fucking jerk" for finding "nigger" offensive, i'd say the ones who liked your comment were "jerks". now i shan't comment further as this stupidity is tainting the video that other people want to watch without mindless bickering.

  • @hopelesscynic1 whatever man.....you fuckin jerk.

  • @Sullivanwushere Yup you said it. He should be smiling.

  • its bollox

  • Arrgh..this is not Bach, this is Giorgio Moroder, electrick dreams etc...

    I am a fool, i am a fool, i am a fool......

    Not my finest hour;-)

  • I heart Bach.

  • My God,its like seeing at last how wonderful life is............

  • Wait a minute, this is A major!

  • @sdkudrgn99

I KNEW this wasn't the original key! First thing I thought when I got here was "that's funny...this isn't in G Major..."

  • Comment removed

  • Lol. You made G-Major less scary.

  • What kind of G-Major you mean?

  • Not to be a know-it-all, but this piece was actually composed by Christian Petzold. Bach's family preserved it in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach - not as an easy piece for beginning keyboard players (Bach had a very technical regimen for training his sons with few easy pieces). Its actual use was probably for dance lessons so Anna could teach the kids some basic steps. It was simple enough so Anna could play it and give directions at the same time. Still a beautiful piece, whoever wrote it

  • Who is playing this?

  • I love it soo much it so peaceful.

  • I've forgotten how pretty this song was. This is definitely one of my favourite piano pieces.

  • the father of occidental music

  • Bach was mad stoned when he composed this

  • @ahmadhamad hahaha i have no idea why you said that but it made me laugh.

  • this is in my ocarina songbook, and i just needed to know how it sounded. :)

  • Actually, this is not J. S. Bach's piece, but Christian Petzold's, one of his pupils. For a very long time this was widely believed to belong to Bach's opus. However, the true authorship has been confirmed recently.

  • God.... i really like composers from the 1800s

  • @leannnnne2cool Bach was born on 1685 xD

  • @Fiasito220 Oh yeahhh..... well change that to "I really like composers in the older days" :D

  • :)

  • This arrangement is amazing. Truly amazing.

  • yeahh!!! honey for my ears!!!!

  • sounds great on two basses.

  • não está em G, está em Lá maior... viajei aqui afinando o violino.... rsrs confere aí... tá em lá!
