Poor girl, I think she was very nervous if she messed up the dance like this. And I am sure she felt really bad. Do you think she was scoled about her dance?

Even though she isn't very graceful, she danced until the song ended and that is good.

She was a cute maiko, though.

Maybe she doesn't have the confidence. There are times where she seems "off-count" and unsure, but its mostly small stuff. Where does she mess up a substantial part of the dance?

Well she really messed the dance but she did it with a grace! Only a good geisha-insider can see that mistake :)

She is a first year Maiko isn't she? I have been researching about their hair deferences and stuff. and I'm watching videos to see if i can see without mistake if they are a 1st year/3rd and later years/2 months from becoming Geiko/if the are from Gion or not (i don't know about the other geisha districts).

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that she is in her first year. (is she?)

yes she was a first, her debut was in 27.06.2007 along with katsumi. a way to regonize the rank of a maiko, is to look at the hairstyle, kanzashi, collar, kimomo and obiage.

there are five geisha districts in kyoto:

gion kobu

miyagawacho

pontocho

gion higashi

kamishichiken.

gion kobu has small hair ornament that is only worn by the maiko of Gion. Known as the "tsunagi-dango", however it is only worn by maiko under the age of 18

oh well, she is so cute and graceful. And when and why did she quit!?!?!?!

she quit around between january and febuary 2008. i don't really know why, but i suspect that the pressure was too much or something like that

this really looks and sounds like Gion kouta, Is it?... I don't know if I have seen Gion kouta performed without two geisha or maiko... not sure if I'm right.
