@SantuXD6 The fan death rumor began in South Korea, where it was said that if you left your fan on overnight all of the oxygen in your room would be depleted and you would die of suffocation (somehow). This prompted South Korean fan manufacturers to include timers to stop fans from running too long, and in turn, killing their customers. This rumor spread to America, where the general public ridiculed the supposed incompetence of Korean appliance companies. The timer kills the fan in the end.
