I know both, Kizzu and Ryota (walk), they are brothers. I used to play with them. Kizzu is just a common player here in Brazil, nothing in special. Kizzu records matches with his brother until the combs they had combined (stipulated) go right. Bobesco is the best Marth player here in Brazil, not Kizzu, CERTAINLY.

Most of the time, yes. There are (few) times when you don't want to use the tip of his blade though, like for doing the Ken combo on floaty characters who would be popped up too high if you hit with a tipped FAir.
If you hit down on the control stick before you're at the peak of your jump, you won't fall (known as fastfalling). If you press down after the peak of your jump though, you will most likely fastfall. In the video, I think he's just pressing jump and then down+A before the peak of his jump, so then he doesn't fastfall. Another way to do the down+A in the air (known as DAir) without falling is to press down on the C-stick.
It's cool how you can just notice the difference in marths when it comes to ken and kizzu. Kizzu's definitely awesome-like. Ken still beats him somehow :(
u can use the middle becus when u hit in the middle u basically hitted with the tip when the sword was on the start of the trajectory (go on slow motion to try to see)

Look up the brazillian finals in 2007. kizzu gets outed in the loser's bracket. by a sheik. There is a certain spin effect put on the perception of players' skills when they're insulated in flashy combo vids. Kizzu is good but he is not as good as Ken.

People have speculated that while his sword range was shortened, the tipper distance is the same - that means that it's easier to get tippers now. However, he remains relatively unchanged, and he could still Ken Combo (FAir -> DAir). His UAir has been buffed, however - it can actually kill below 100%, according to my friend. I'd say that they made him better overall, if anything.
thers auto cancels in certain moves and alot more to be tested but there deffinately are other ways to l cancel but i find unless you fast fall a f-air you wont touch the ground by the time its done so with mixing up fastfall times and other forms of cancelling in brawl we should be good
I have played brawl for 10 hours already on a hacked wii with a burned copy of the game. Marth is still fairly good. Already, he seems to be taking a lead as a tourney favorite. I dont know if its because hes good or because more people know how to use him from the last game but if you played a marth that was more mindgames and less combo (a bit like ken when hes being defensive) then marth should still work great for you.
Set the match to stock, then look under additional options to find the timer. I don't know the options menu that well, so I can't give any further details >.>.
To do attacks from the edge in general (the proper term is edgehopping), press something to let go of the edge ("away" or down), then quickly jump and do whatever attack you want. In this case, you should press and hold "down", then quickly slide your finger over the Y and A button (or X and A button). Doing so will make you drop from the edge and then jump and spike at the same time.
I couldn't help but notice, a lot of talented marth players such as ken and kizzu don't like the down B move. I don't enter in tournaments becuz i simply don't have time (competitive soccer and university). Most people only use Counter (down+B) against recoveries; it's especially useful against Fox and Falco, since you can just go right at the edge and force them to hit you on their way back. At high damages, it can even kill Falco by knocking him back too far for him to recover. I asked Cort why he doesn't use Counter more, and someone else responded that there are other, preferred moves instead of Counter - it doesn't set up for any combos, which is the reason why most people don't use it.
Isn't it better to use the foward smash attack against edge guarding? Since tip has INSANE knockback and does not allow opponents to jump again in mid air.
But I find in many situations during ken/kizzu matches when the down-b move culd've saved some damage and returned it to opponents. I train against 3v1 level 9 cpus which really helps in reflexes so to me I find the down-b move helpful. I guess its all about preference, thx for feedback
FSmash is useful for people who will go above the edge when they recover, but if they sweetspot properly they can edgetech the FSmash and live. DTilt would be better in this case. Counter is just easier, I suppose, since there is a chance that Marth's arm can get hit before the sword hits the opponent.
Also, DON'T train with level 9 CPUs; they will get you into bad habits. Train with other people or level 1's to work on comboing. Lvl 9's don't act like people at all; it's just better to train with a dummy.
I've defeated a lot of people in ottawa (where i currently reside) and kingston (my hometown) and you are right, the cpu's don't act like humans at all. But I only train 3v1 to hone my reflexes;; Cuz i've noticed some marth players that use the downb move do it on instinct; not by reacting by what the opponent does. 3v1 cpu's help me react on movement and i go in training mode to master combos.

wow you are pretty good. you did something i didnt know was posible. or it could be the bad quality but on 2:43 did you grab fox from over the edge? what timing do you do for that. when he is on the edge just just about to grab it?
First off, this is NOT me; this is a player by the name of Kizzu.
There wasn't really a time when Fox was over the edge, but it is possible to grab him from the air. It's possible to grab him out of his side+B and even his up+b (level 9 computers do it all the time).
The way I edgehop spike is to press down to let go of the edge, then (while holding down) I slide my thumb over the Y and A button in that order; Y to get me to jump and A (+ down b/c I'm still holding it) to spike.

Aisengobay is the best smasher here in Brazil today, simply... he won about 8 championships, when I haven't won any. Btw, I always got in Top 4 in these tourneys xD~
He couldn't be considered the #1 Marth from Brazil... he don't play consistantly with Marth, but his Fox has really amazing mindgames o.o
Also, I have restarted playing SSBM since December 2006 because I have stopped for like a half year (well Smash isn't 100% of my life, its only a hobby xP~)

I do think Kizzu is better using Marth then AisenGobay. But Aisen beats Kizzu many times with he's Marth even though he's main is Fox. Also, Kizzu wont go out of Brazil and try beat Ken or any other Major players i know Kizzu and he's not that kind of person who play, think and talk about Smash all the time.
Also you can't just say he's not good and can't beat Ken, cause he lives in Brazil and he haven't played against a Major Player such as Ken. He would probably take Ken a few times or more. We got Ken, Kizzu, EK, Lord HDL, Azen, AsianGobay, Neo and of course... My Self ^_^
I fully agree; Kizzu is a brilliant Marth user, but you can't say that he can beat other good players until he actually goes out of Brazil and tries.
I personally think that Kizzu is better than AisenGobay; Kizzu plays with more technical skill (utilizing UAirs) and his mindgames are better. If you have downloadable matches of their dittos, please tell me :D.
I just want to mention that about the best Marth and all that. Kizzu haven't played against any Major Players, but he's one of the best Brazil Player. If he were going to fight against Ken or any other Major Player he wouldn't lose instantly, he could have won. I would say there is a 50-50 chance for him to win against Ken. Also Kizzu isn't the best Brazil Marth Player, AisenGobay beats Kizzu many times with his Marth even though he's main is Fox.

I'm assuming Ken = Marth and you want some names of Marth players. Anyway, obviously Ken plays a phenomenal Marth, Azen is also good, EK is a European Smasher who's high up there, and also Korius, a Japanese smasher.
You can't really judge that since he hasn't played any major players such as Captain Jack, Isai, or Ken himself, but I agree that he is very high up there.
one thing, it looks cool and good now, but when u r in a tourney like i was, well it was just like 32 kids, it gets hard because everyone has a different style of fightin, lol my friend got owned by a mr game and watch against me, he is pretty good though, he can beat me when i am marth but not with like mr game and watch

for about 3 months, ive been playing exclusively against friends i didnt even touch the game unless i had a friend over or something. tonight, like 20 minutes ago, i went and played against a few level nines, and you use completely different techniques against them than you use against a person. and yea, 3 on 1 is kinda useless if youre training for 1 0n 1s. and counter is useless, i use it like once every 6 matches and yell "NOBODY EXPECTS COUNTER!" so yea

I hate to sound stubborn and everything... But I don't train against 3v1's for 1on1 matches. i train for reflexes cuz when I use down-b, i react to a person attacking. But maybe i need my asses handed to me by some of these pro's to understand fully.

wow you are pretty good. you did something i didnt know was posible. or it could be the bad quality but on 2:43 did you grab fox from over the edge? what timing do you do for that. when he is on the edge just just about to grab it?

First off, this is NOT me; this is a player by the name of Kizzu.
There wasn't really a time when Fox was over the edge, but it is possible to grab him from the air. It's possible to grab him out of his side+B and even his up+b (level 9 computers do it all the time).

It's known as an edgehopped attack.
1. Press "down" or "away" to let go of the edge.
2. Jump.
3. Use an aerial attack.
The way I edgehop spike is to press down to let go of the edge, then (while holding down) I slide my thumb over the Y and A button in that order; Y to get me to jump and A (+ down b/c I'm still holding it) to spike.

No, it wasn't made by me; it says so in the video info.
These are real matches; people don't want to get owned. The Ganondorf (Walk) did down+B instead of up+B because there is no way he could've made it back.

Fluid combos do happen between two equally skilled opponents. Watch more videos.
By the way, this is an old video; both Kizzu and Walk (his brother aka Ryota aka the sandbag in the video) have gotten much better.

Aisengobay is the best smasher here in Brazil today, simply... he won about 8 championships, when I haven't won any. Btw, I always got in Top 4 in these tourneys xD~
He couldn't be considered the #1 Marth from Brazil... he don't play consistantly with Marth, but his Fox has really amazing mindgames o.o
Also, I have restarted playing SSBM since December 2006 because I have stopped for like a half year (well Smash isn't 100% of my life, its only a hobby xP~)

I do think Kizzu is better using Marth then AisenGobay. But Aisen beats Kizzu many times with he's Marth even though he's main is Fox. Also, Kizzu wont go out of Brazil and try beat Ken or any other Major players i know Kizzu and he's not that kind of person who play, think and talk about Smash all the time.

Also you can't just say he's not good and can't beat Ken, cause he lives in Brazil and he haven't played against a Major Player such as Ken. He would probably take Ken a few times or more. He's Half Japanese and half Spanish, and if he could get a chance to fight Ken he wouldn't have too much of a problem. Also if someone want to know good Marth Players. We got Ken, Kizzu, EK, Lord HDL, Azen, AsianGobay, Neo and of course... My Self ^_^

I fully agree; Kizzu is a brilliant Marth user, but you can't say that he can beat other good players until he actually goes out of Brazil and tries.
I personally think that Kizzu is better than AisenGobay; Kizzu plays with more technical skill (utilizing UAirs) and his mindgames are better. If you have downloadable matches of their dittos, please tell me :D.

I just want to mention that about the best Marth and all that. Kizzu haven't played against any Major Players, but he's one of the best Brazil Player. If he were going to fight against Ken or any other Major Player he wouldn't lose instantly, he could have won. I would say there is a 50-50 chance for him to win against Ken. Also Kizzu isn't the best Brazil Marth Player, AisenGobay beats Kizzu many times with his Marth even though he's main is Fox.

I'm assuming Ken = Marth and you want some names of Marth players. Anyway, obviously Ken plays a phenomenal Marth, Azen is also good, EK is a European Smasher who's high up there, and also Korius, a Japanese smasher.
