I remember seeing a preview for this film and thought it looked really dumb. Just put it on Netflix for my son expecting it to stink... Surprise, surprise, it was really, really good! I've never seen my little boy so emotionally involved in a movie, ever. I loved it too. Sounds like this epic fail had a lot to do with poor marketing decisions. Too bad, it's really a great movie.

Sorry I called people who don't like the title idiots. I just think it's stupid to be so hung up on a title and not bother to at least check the movie out to see if you like it.

Concept of the movie was bad. Could use better music.They made someone's mom die. We got alien/human interplanetary love going on when it is suppose to be a kid's movie. No one likes concept of a Momma's boy. And the title wasnt cute or cool sounding to carry any type of hype; 2 words at most define a good movie. Other than that, CGI and animation were good. 3D was not a problem, it was just the concept of the movie that made it flop

the reason this failed is because it was too realistic then it needed to be. Either use real actors or use a cartoon style. People don't want super mario to be a realistic character. Fat hairy plumber. Some people want the cartoon style. Not everything needs to be amazing effects to be any good.

This garbage they call a movie can be used as a wake up call to Hollywood; just because they quickly spent $150,000,000 to make this movie look technologically superior, doesn't mean it's always a guaranteed success. What guarantees success, is days and weeks and even years of creative thinking, just like the writers did in Hollywood's Golden Age.
