I like how in many of there songs his singing goes high and it works so appropriately and it does not get over used it just hits it so right it also does not get forced and it shows real vocal talent when there is precision that just makes it better. Some MEH bands sing in one spectrum and than there songs seem more of the same but Poets of the Fall does it so much better. I challenge any vocalist to sing out of there one narrow range and step out of the crowd

I want to like this, but I don't. I played Alan Wake on Xbox and their song "War" was in it and I love that song, but I can't find any other ones I can get into on here. I think they're too melancholy for me and I keep wanting them to rock out at some point but they wont. I love this guy's voice though. @bosshog7169 You want them to rock out? Well you're really looking at the wrong band. Sure, they have done some heavier songs, like Psychosis, More and Miss Impossible, but the reason so many people love Poets of the Fall is because their music is as you say, melancholy. I hope that helps :)

Maybe "rock out" isn't the right term. I guess "war" is kind of a slower song actually and after listening to those three songs I think they are better when the tempo is slower. I guess I felt like "war" was generally less depressing than some of the others. Thats the only song thats grabbed me really. They may not be for me but I'd like to find some other songs I could connect with because I like this guys voice.

I like the Smashing Pumpkins early stuff when they were more electric and I like their louder songs from that time, definitely didn't like those songs so much if i remember correctly.
