This scene was CUT from Meat. Ianto is simple asking Jack if they should arm Rhys for the mission where he drives them to the warehouse where the big alien spacewhale is kept. Therefore, it WOULD make sense.

"Adam" has nothing to do with this.

I just realized how you may have been confused. If this scene had been left in "Meat", then Jack's 'measuring tape' line in "Adam" would have simply followed on from that, but because they cut this scene out, the measuring tape line is thought to have originated from "Adam", whereas the line in "Adam" would have actually made more sense had this scene remained in "Meat" XD

If that makes sense?

Actually I Does Have something to do with the episode 'Adam' because at the end when Jack gives Ianto his diary back he say "Measuring Tape Never Lies" so it referances back to what Ianto says in this scene "I Half Expected You To Get Out The Measuring Tape". Still irked that the wanker powers that be cut that scene out...according to JB and GDL quite a few of either campy or "tender" scenes were considered too over the top by the producers...Dammit!!
