  • I am an atheist and this song is amazing.

  • Lovely version. I've added it to my Ave Maria playlist. Thanks!

  • Please tell me who the singer is ! Is this Sissel Kyrkjebo?

  • Lovely

  • ummm to put Schebert is technically wrong...he was a german composer.. as my music friend who is learning opera at nocca states n i have googled this n it has truth to it.

  • This vocalist is just amazing, what a sweet voice she has

  • Please put the singer and the pianist in the video description... just to credit them...

  • Who is this Irish babe? she sings so beautifully! What is her name i wonder. I just listened to this by both Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion and this chick gives them both a run for their money. I guess talent is everywhere!

  • I'm working on this for a solo for christmas :( And you do such a wonderful job, any suggestions, i'm a natural soprano myself, but i've lost my voice recently and LITERALLY am just getting better, but my solo is in like two weeks :(

  • Have been in love with this song since last year, and my goal is to be able to play it on the viola! If such a version exists because I absolutely love this song! Catholic or not, a mother's suffering and sacrifice is a universal theme :)

You don't have to be religious to appreciate a song like this! Heck, Schubert hardly went to church (or so I have read)!

  • What's the name of the woman singing?

  • this is the song i was looking for! thank you :D

  • Lovely song. I have always loved this particular version of the Ave Maria. The vocalist is amazing, as are the pictures in the video! <3

  • AWESOME!! thanks for sharing. btw,I love Ire <333

  • gorgeous! x

  • Shall I comment on how this religion was give birth too, and start bashing all Christians and how wrong they are.. or simply be open minded enough to appreciate something that was composed by a person with a different view on the world, than silly old me?

  • @RicharDmanTheDude Keep an open mind and don't bash other peoples religions. It's rude. I am a catholic and don't go around hating people with other religions. I simply avoid the subject and pray for their souls. Hating on religion, even in a comment, is low, and rude.

  • @KyoKondo Im sorry, I have no intention of offending anyone except those who infact deserve it ^^

and being rude, well, I could choose to be offended just by having to go to school and see a crucifix on the wall. but I don't, so,yeah. ^^

  • I am atheist, but this song is unbelivebly awesome and great. I can feel like I am slowly flying around my room, dreaming. awww <3

  • wow! this is awesome! i'm singing this for a wedding, this is GREAT and really really helpful lol

    beautiful, beautiful voice :)

  • one of the most beautiful versions I've heard. thanks for posting. has anyone heard Pavarotti's version?

  • Is this soprano 2?

  • Ms. Barry has a pleasant voice. I wonder if Mary McCague was at the piano.

  • really really fantastic i promised my mom i was gonna perform this for mothers day

  • What a beautiful song and the Irish singer is wonderful too. Nellie

  • this has inspired me to do great things in life, like finish this essay that's due tomorrow

  • @AlwaysDreaming haha

  • Beautiful voice to fit perfectly with an amazingly beatutiful piece of music - outstanding. well done.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • The singer is Emer Barry. Pretty girl, pretty voice.

  • It's beautiful. Do you know the singer's name? - she deserves the recognition.

  • agent 47 is behind you with his fiberwire

  • This is one of my favorite pieces to listen to and to sing with. So pretty! It is a dream of mine to sing this piece at my church or in a public setting that is appropriate.

  • who sings this? she's beautiful

  • its so beautiful

  • The fascinating thing about the Schuert Ave Maris is that it rises above religion, philosophy and all. It embodies beauty. When I sing it, is feels as though it is singing itself - it rises up from inside me. I have a friend who has the same experience... it is transcendent music. I was with friends at the top of a high mountain once and I was simply compelled to sing it.

  • Ave Maria Gratia plena Maria, gratia plena Maria, gratia plena Ave, ave dominus Dominus tecum Benedicta tu in mulieribus Et benedictus Et benedictus fructus ventris Ventris tuae, Jesus. Ave Maria Ave Maria Mater Dei Ora pro nobis peccatoribus Ora pro nobis Ora, ora pro nobis peccatoribus Nunc et in hora mortis Et in hora mortis nostrae Et in hora mortis nostrae Et in hora mortis nostrae Ave Maria
  • i'm workingon this song with my voice teacher, my goal is to be as good as this singer, her voice is so pure and beautiful

  • I am pretty sure this is Charlotte Church singing.

  • @mkeerkens

It's no where close. This girl actually has technique and a more mature voice.

  • im not normally into piano or anything but this was just....idk! i loved it thats for sure and it was beautiful :)

  • Its one of the most beautiful songs ever made. I like this version very much.

  • This is the best performance I've ever heard. Thank you!

  • How refreshing to hear a beautiful voice sing this melodious Ave Maria like the prayer that it is and not like an aria that most accomplished - and not so accomplished - singers try to make of it.!! Thanks for posting it.

  • I love this song! Who is the singer?

  • I posted this a long time ago and haven't checked on it for a while - what a lovely surprise to read your comments! Thank you very much and I'm so delighted you enjoyed my video :-)

  • I have looked at a lot of versions of this song and found yours to be of the upmost quality. You have the perfect voice for this song. Beautiful job.

  • This is just such a pure version of this marvelous piece. So easy to listen to and so moving.

  • is it wrong that i'm not Catholic but I find this song incredibly beautiful and moving and taught myself this song even though i will probably never perform it?

i am Christian by the way

  • Not wrong at all =)

  • no, not at all :)

  • @kayt33mac no es malo que no seas católico pero la Virgen fue la madre de Jesús y sufrió al ver a su hijo agonizando podrías quererla a ella también esta bien que Jesús sea el salvador opero la virgen donde queda. Piénsalo

  • @kayt33mac

    First, you are a moron.

Second...who cares what religion you are? You can enjoy this song even if you are Jewish.

And third, Catholic, Christian....tomato, tomatoe. Catholicism is basically one of the branches of Christianity anyway, big deal.

    Sheesh

  • @SunneyTehBunney First, get a life.

Second, if my comment was so dumb and I'm such a "moron", why comment?

Third, Find something better to do than ruin a beautiful video of a beautiful song with your sorry comment.

May God bless you with some business to mind.

  • @SunneyTehBunney I totally agree. I'm Jewish and just sang the soprano solo for this song with my choir.

  • @kayt33mac Nope. I'm an atheist, and find it stunning and moving. It's beautiful. Beautiful music spans religion and race and creed. It moves all of us, regardless of what we might be.

  • @kayt33mac You don't have to be catholic to enjoy beautiful music.

  • @kayt33mac same

  • @kayt33mac it doesnt matter what denomination you are a part of, ave maria will always be beautiful.

  • @kayt33mac I'm atheist but I'm deeply touched with whis song..music is universal and far beyond religion..music is strongest language we know :)

  • @kayt33mac It is never wrong. First, this is a a great work of music to be ignored by non-Catholics. One may simply be in love with the music (and the Latin) of it. Second, we never know. Mama Mary is a very powerful intercessor and converter. Many people have been converted to the Catholic Church because of its sublime arts and music.

  • @kayt33mac music has nothing to do with religion. music is the universal language of humanity.

  • @kayt33mac I feel exactly same thing what you feel. And yes, I'm Christian aswell :)

  • @kayt33mac Of course it is not wrong my friend. I does not matter what religion you follow, music is universal and everyone has the right to enjoy it. :)

  • at last a good version of schubert's Ave Maria in Latin!!

  • Yes.

  • Ahh.... I finally listened to the entire video and saw that it was a young lady named Emer Barry - not my favorite type of voice (just my preference), but she does a lovely job on this

  • yes, which irish soprano? wonderful

  • PERFECT.. not too much vibrato.. beautiful voice...a bit fast but perfect...!!! 5*

  • Do we know which "Irish" soprano this is?

  • It touch your soul...

    thank you

  • Listen to three sopranos is super-wonderful; excuse me but my english´s language is poor...spanish better

Escuchar a las 3 sopranos is maravilloso, celestial...
