From A Bruins fan. Any owner who comes to the table and wants to win the cup as much as players and fans and has that same passion is SO GREAT. I LOVE Pegula and this story, a childhood dream come true, not many people can say they accomplished a goal they have had for over 30 years! And The Sabres definitely deserve who wants to win a cup and does not care about making money.
it wasn't exactly that we hated Golisano, he didn't give us an opportunity to invest more money into player development and scouting, not to mention handcuffing Regier on a tight budget. Golisano was a businessman, not a owner in sports. We do wholeheartedly thank him for saving the franchise, he will always be welcomed here in Buffalo for that.
@666mathew If it wasnt for Golisano the Sabres would not be in Buffalo today. He wanted the franchise to stay and he sold it to Terry because he knew he was a hugh Sabres fan and he would only make the franchise better. Golisano said that he would out bid anyone that wanted to buy and move the Bills.
@teddymv I was there. It was pretty ridiculous and the video doesn't do it much justice. There was a standing ovation from the time the carpets were being rolled out continued for well over five minutes. Whenever a video with him or a sign with his name came on during the game there was a standing ovation
There are no tears in hockey, there are no tears in hockey.....just keep repeating it.
But there has been many tears over many years---just not tears of absolute joy.
One would think that after 40 years of faithfulness that we would be immune to such bursts of hope. It has taken a very special man to reignite the fire that has been but a flicker in the hearts of fans for too long.
Thank God. Can't wait to see what's next. Great to trust again, eh?
One of the greatest moments in Buffalo Sabres history. If only the Sabres freakin played like they want the Stanley Cup. Also, RIP Rick Martin #7

Why has their been so much excitement about the new owner?
Did Sabres fans hate Tom Golisano? Wha prompted Golisano to sell the team, financial trouble?
