  • Ironic how Herc is the one who basically got Marlo off the hook. 8:15

  • Wait did Marlo just show... emotions?

  • Comment removed

  • Hurk has got it MADE

  • Also with Marlo- he felt pissed off at chris for not telling him about omar running his mouth. Marlo knew chris liked Michael so maybe as payback and to be safe at the same time.. attempted to wack him + say he snitched.

  • I like how the casting is every character has gone thru something you if you can tell Marlo- has a scar on his face, Chris - has unbelievably wild hair, Snoop- is gay and really angry all the time Monk- socialy retarded

  • dude taking a dump 6:10... lol

  • @7:13 lol the only time i seen Marlo suprised.

  • fucking Herc

  • Levy and Marlo are like 2 peas in a pod, evil knows evil

  • freakin' herc. cmon man!

  • but who snitch

  • @wallyworld776 Herc didnt plan that shit at all lol. Of all characters on the show Herc is no mastermind

  • was this season 5 and did marlo get to walk?

  • @BuddyWillis Yes, its from Season 5, I think the last episode or the one right before. And yes, Marlo walks but has to leave the game.

  • they shoulda gave the levy character his own show... with lester tryna take him down.

  • @challiray sounds boring

  • @LeBronForTheWin nah the wire wouldve been a good show without the hood shit too. all you need is levy, lester, and clay davis. ratings.

  • @challiray

wtf the hood shits the best part of the show you dumbass.how can u not like weebay, omar, brother mouzone and chris & snoop?there is ratings

  • After all of the BS, Herc finally found his niche.

  • Levy represents the stereotypical money hungry Jew that bleeds black people for money

  • Levy to Herc "you're mishpacha now!." It's a Hebrew word for 'family." Money has a tendency to do that! lol

  • I thought the guy that played marlo kind of sucked. Sure, Marlo is supposed to portrayed as calm and and little emotion but this scene was a key part of his character and the actor barely came out of his shell at all. I got more of a "bubbling with rage" than a "furious" vibe, you know? I mean in this scene Marlo should have been screaming at those boys; not just raising his voice.

  • @MrCavitysChessCorner Yea but that is him screaming. Trust me they got the point.

  • Who woulda thunk it? That dumb oaf herc played levy til the end

  • Herc's the most fucked up character on the show. he doesnt even know what he's doing ever

  • don't understand how cheese knew about the code and snoop didnt..

  • @weeleon81 cause snoop was strictly muscle.

  • "he call me a punk?" lol.. yeah.. he called you more than punk

  • this is a great glimpse into the mind of a petty criminal. So concerned about someone using his name on the street.

  • dumb ass herc.

  • What was that Jewish saying the lawyer says at the end. "You're a .....now"

  • @brightlights456X david simon said its a jewish for "family" on the audio commentary

  • @ParticleJesus

    Ahhhh...thanks for that:D

  • 3:55

Good job letting levy know there was a wiretap, Herc. If you hadn't done that Marlo could have been doing some serious time

  • @eviltube1111 Yea and if he hadn't done that, Levy would have went to jail and Herc would have been out of a job again. He was just doing his job as an investigator, he ain't a cop anymore.

  • Marlo shows in the scene with Levy that he actually did have some sense of loyalty to his inner circle. Whenever someone was even suspected of snitching, Marlo had them killed, however he decides to trust Snoop, and doesn't even entertain the idea of her talking.

  • Best show ever, but one thing struck me as a hole in the story. Pearlman had Levy by the balls due to a recording of him buying court files. I can buy that Chris takes life since the have DNA evidence on him, he is extremely loyal to Marlo and Marlo will take care of his family for life. How could they guarantee that Monk and Cheese would accept this deal? Cheese and Monk could just get their own lawyers and not accept the 20 years. They could fight this independently in court, I know I would.

  • @bigfilmhat Well Cheese got off somehow anyway, and then got shot in the head by Slim if I remember correctly.

  • @Cryer24597 Cheese gets out on bail, his charges weren't dropped. He would have had to go to trial and probably would have went to prison had he not, like you said, gotten his dome taken off

  • @oybbib12 Exactly. He probably woulda been on the run, cuz he was facing 20 years. Same as Monk.

  • @bigfilmhat Because Monk and Cheese were caught red handed with a ton of drugs. They were going to do time no matter what. There's no fighting that.

  • The thing about this show is that people lie...and if you forget the story, you believe their lie. I have to watch this show multiple times to catch all of the lies.

  • Herc smartened up after he left the Pigs department

  • I would have loved to see Marlo be forced to do time in Avon's prison (and yes I said Avon's prison cuz he was still king even on the inside). But seeing him fail to obtain the one thing he always wanted (respect in the streets and a legendary name) was gratifying enough.

  • Herc's bitch ass was the reason Marlo didn't stay in jail. He was such a fucking bitch ass pussy for the way he turned out. I already didn't like him, but by the end of the show I fucking hated him.

  • marlo is a straight G

  • Herc is such an ignorant cunt. He was fighting the drug trade for four seasons, and now he's aiding it.

  • how big a cheque did levy give to herc?

  • This is the first time I see Marlo trippin. I always liked him because he's always so confident and relaxed.

  • Herc is a validation-starved motherfucker, when Levy praises him and Herc responds with "that's what a detective does", it infers that he desperately wants someone to tell him he's not a fuck up, something he didn't listen to when he was a cop until he got fired. Even at the shift change party after Marlo's bust, he was desperately tryna get an "attaboy!" from Carver.

  • @ChetR Well the thing is even though Herc is a complete dumbass he was screwed over by politics. Yeah, he screwed up with the reverend but there were people who did worse in the department yet because the politicians required SOMEBODY to be fired from the department Herc was the most convenient. I mean he's loyal to the department but in the end the police work for the politicians, why give a fuck about the politicians if they don't give a fuck about you?

  • @acountddd You're right, the police dept. is run by the political institution, which itself is beholden to the community (Carcetti's diner conversation about eating "bowls of shit" exemplifies this. Despite the seeming dominance of some, the institutions are dependent on each other to maintain their respective status quos.

  • i'm glad marlo and levy walked in the end :)

  • @ 1:09 out of all the shit this nigga was facing he still was the same..that shit gave me chills

  • If Marlo found out the feds had a wire tap, why does he still think Michael was snitching?

  • @mufc187 word good point

  • Monk shit himself

  • Levy is a scumbag.... but he earns that buck like a motherfucker.

  • My Name is My Name!!! "Sneed"

  • I love how the entire holding room becomes quiet when Marlo begins to shout. The only time he is shown with any real emotion and everyone, including his men, are afraid of him. Most people keep saying that Marlo is weak and has to rely on Chris and Snoop to strike fear into people's hearts but this scene shows how he got respect among the streets.

  • This is hilarious. The source of information was Herc taking the phone number Marlo gave to Levy. Marlo should have had a seperate phone for the lawyer. It's funny how the lawyer and ex-cop are more crooked than the gangsters could ever dream of. All in the game.

  • Marlo acts like he would have came out into the streets with Omar if he knew he was getting called out by name, motha fucker you wouldn't have done shit anyway i hate that pussy, but at the same time i love to hate him, good character

  • did monk get life

  • this is the real justice system the little man goes to jail for bullshit when the big boss get off with a slap on the wrist.

  • McNulty was right about Marlo: He's an asshole. Even after he found out that the police used a wire therefore demonstrating that Michael wasn't the leak, he still told Chris that Michael was a snitch. Just saving face after Snoop was killed trying to do him...

  • @DEC0RAX0 Marlo doesn't care about anyone.

  • @DEC0RAX0 yes and no. before he met levy he said to chris '' neither do i'' as i dont see him snitching too BUT he wasnt planning to take any risks and bet his future on it anyway. But yeah is was saving face to some extent after he tells cheese he's free... Marlo was just a heartless power tripping dude but his role put an extra twist on the show.

  • levy is a snake

  • Marlo aint man enough to come down to the streets! He a straight bitch!

  • @flyersfan2588 yo crazy assel marlo bout euerythinq he a real man ! he had to put t it work to get where he at now they just dont show you the work he put in before he camee to power they started his ccharacter from when he already has some power ! if you look at the way he handles his business hes a fckin masterminee Mrlo and Michael are my fauoritee !

  • thats a good ass lawyer..

  • PONK = PUNK

  • Levy was a true gangster

  • One revolving theme in this series was the power play: everyone exercised when they could, form snitching, to politics to the police to the schools, every facet of the show showed some form of power and used it when when things got rough.

Herc had perhaps the best power play of the show. He killed two birds with one stone: He got back at the cops for firing him, and got back at Marlo-which was was oen of his original targets anyway. Brilliant writing

  • @wallyworld776 How did he get back at the cops?

  • @poopmcscoopface he gave them Marlo's number, and they tapped his phone before they had an order to do so, making it illegal, allowing Marlo to walk from his case and Levy to not be sanctioned his acts with the grand jury indictment

  • at least they can read...so the school system wasnt that bad...

  • @rnsoles34 'not bad', they're not even reading at the grade they're supposed to! That's why Dukie ended up in drugs, because he knew in his heart that he didn't stood a chance if he went to high school..

  • @woodwyrm i was being sarcastic...

  • "That's what a detective is." The bitch of it is, he's getting paid what a detective SHOULD get paid.

  • Its funny how Herc wanted to take down Marlo and yet he's the reason Marlo is getting out. There are no good guys or bad guys in this show, only humans, which are all fucked up.

  • @donnylorenzo

In a roundabout way, Herc did take Marlo off the streets. Permanently, in fact. What better way to hit a dictator than to strip him of all power?

  • You can tell Chris cares about Michael when he explains why Michael killed Snoop and the look in his face when Marlo says he also did it because he was the one who talked about the Re-up, you can tell Chris doesn't believe it.

  • snoop know

  • one of the few scenes where Marlo truly emotes...MY NAME IS MY NAME...great scene

  • Marlo's human too. He's not made of steel. If anybody else spoke to Chris like the way Marlo did, that person would be dead in a second. Why is it that Chris didn't so much as yell back at Marlo?

  • @kandinskyforfootball...loyalty

  • @kandinskyforfootball Marlo has the money, point blank. If he bucks back, who do you think will financially take care of Chris's family while he's in prison?

  • Man Monk just shut the fuck up...like Marlo was his dad or something.

  • someone please help. did this happen after omar was killed.

  • @jespnshifty

Yep, remember Marlo told chris and snoop a few episodes earlier that Omar got got

  • @jespnshifty yes.

  • Chris, Cheese, and Monk get fat prison tours and Marlo walks. Everyone on the street would think Marlo is a snitch. He'd be dead within a week.

  • "My name is my name!" This is Marlo at his most badass.

    "I don't see Micheal snitchin'"

"Me neither, but you ready to bet your life on it?"

  • Herc what a knob, haha

  • The writing for this show is pure genius. I love when the lawyer says "and heres the rub". Reminiscent of Shakespear. This dialouge has perfectly adapted the romance of greek mythology to modern urban drama. Beautiful.

  • i hated marlo, no code

  • I love MARLO!!!!

  • I can't understand how Levy never even considered that Herc gave up the number. Very irresponsible

  • @illouie he knew the whole time look at 8:12 - 8:47

  • @bs20sanders Yeah I thought about that after I posted. Basically this means that Levy is an even more dirty and rotten lawyer than I thought. He is lying to his own client

  • @illouie he did know once Mario gave all the names. but he couldnt tell Mario that bc it wouldve fucked everything up. The whole purpose of attorneys is to win "THEIR" case. thats all! they dont really give a shit about clients, only "CLIENTELE" . They win big cases, they get bigger deals which give them prestige and fatter pockets. thats why he loved Herc so much bc Herc fell right for it. and gave up Marios #. it all worked out for Levy, Mario, and BPD.

  • @BIGJUICEJONES Mar....lo. Thanx

  • Marlo was a mix of Stringer and Avon...he wanted to do business, but didnt let anybody get an inch. How can you get caught when nobody fucks up nd those who did get killed. Marlo wins...free man.

  • Marlo Haitian real life sak passe

  • Isn't it obvious why Herc helped Levy? He wanted to try his wife's brisket.

  • Comment removed

  • These scenes and the one where marlo sells the connect to String/Ricky/ETC made me Like Marlo for the first time in the series

  • Levy is awesome

  • Levy loves his brisket (See first season when DeAngelo rights the letter)

  • @ojonesjr *writes

  • Marlo was the total opposite of Avon in so many ways. The Wire was 21st Century Shakespeare.

  • @Apexed818

Not to start nothing, but I totally disagree. Marlo is really along the line as Avon, maybe just more sociopathic. Both men only have love for the streets and are proud to play gangsta. Both always resort to violence first and both were concerned that people fear their name. Also, both ended up in prison because of their brash ways of doing business.

I think its much more accurate to say that marlo is the exact opposite of Stringer or to a less extent, prop Joe.

  • @yangdax yea that's more accurate. To add on to that point, they found out that had more in common when they had that brief meet at jessup. Personality wise, there is a sharp contrast though.

  • @yangdax But Avons stopped when it reached further than the game. Thats why he wasnt a fan of stringers doings nor was he a fan of killing anyone outside the game. Thats why he had a problem with breaking the sunday truce. There was at least some sense of honor there whereas marlo didnt care who got it.

  • @Apexed818

except they both fought ruthlessly over their name

  • @gpope23 Exactly!

I got hooked on the wire in a week. Levy is a normal guy compared to the sharks out here now. This taught me something.

  • herc was the biggest dummy in the show, then he turned out to be that smartest

  • Comment removed

  • At 5:08 it seems like it clicked in Levy's head that it was Herc that linked the number. Then at 8:13 it seemed as if Levy thanks Herc in a sly way for linking that number...

  • Wasnt the source was from the gov't playing dirty and not actually from a person on the street

  • Am I the only one who hated Marlo's charactor?

  • @iJustHadAnEpiphany1

you were supposed to hate him

  • Who did actually snitch on them? Was really mike?

    I thought it was randy?

  • @MartialWondo08

nobody snitched on them. Herc stole the number from Levy's office

  • @klined so Herc snitched :p

  • That's the most I ever heard Marlo talk and if the guy who looks like fabulous(1:24) told um what Omar had really said do you think that they would have killed him for snitching? or Do you think Marlo would have lost his cool and flew off the handle? @noesteem219 What are your thoughts on the jail scene at (1:19-1:35)?

  • Interesting that Marlo doesn't mention the wire tap to his crew.

  • @soulofshiver Do you think what was left of his crew would stand tall if he did? His phone was the reason why Monk & Cheese was arrested and the catalyst for getting Chris into custody. The police don't have a case against them w/o it. Marlo walks b/c of the illegal wire tap. Cheese & Monk were caught with drugs, open & shut. In all, it makes it look like Marlo set them up, even though it was really the fault of the Greek & Vondas.

  • "My name is my name."

  • That'a AMAZING that Herc gave them the number and Levy could never figure out how in the HELL they got it. It was Herc all along. Wow.

  • lol

    "snoop know"

    "SHIT"

  • HE TOOK A DEEP BREATH WHEN THEY SAID KNO BAIL FOR CHRIS

  • Omar man to man would rip Marlo to shreds. He's only barking cuz he's got the muscle. Pussy

  • Marlo would have been better to stay in jail. All he wanted was power and he would have had that in prison but since he walked he doesnt know how to act in normal society and he will be a nobody and as we see from the outcome he cant stand being around biz people all he knows is the streets( like Avon). More than money is power

  • LBCPeteR it wouldent be the same, as michael is fucked in the head, snoop is dead but if they had it the same way then of course i would pay as well

  • I would pay to watch a new season of the wire

  • @LBCPeteR It's called cable. We all pay dumbass

  • If Marlo had known earlier that his number leaked outside Levi's office, he wouldn't have made immature presumptions about who snitched. At the end, it was Marlo's fault.

  • I forgot what did Herc do. Also didn't Herc give the Carver, Marlo's number. Man Herc is just lives for a minute. Not sure if means to do anything.

  • i think chris seen michael as a son thats why he didnt want anything to happen to him

  • @cdameron100 he saw him more as a younger version of himself. Everything from his demeanor, lost childhood, to his molestation issue. This is what originally made Chris take Michael under his wing.

  • who snitched then?

  • @AlfredoR706 - It was an illegal wire wire tap.

  • Comment removed

  • @ThatFire9oNe6 - you sound retarded dude lol. this is a show, not real life. go back to playing war of worldcraft

  • Comment removed

  • I was actually in the Md State Pen and these guys actually don't care if they spend the rest of the life in jail.

  • TALK MUTHAFUKER!!!!!!!!

  • @neffa225 i was just about to post dat lol

  • Levy is even more despicable than Marlo

  • marlo aint shit

  • Yo mama so stupid, I saw her yelling at envelope and i ask her what was she doing.. She said she was trying to send a voice mail :)

  • Fuck yo, Jamie Hector is a fuckin great actor

  • All the shit Marlo did and he left the game with dirt on his name. That was all he cared about and it was the one thing he didn't get. He left the game without his respect.

  • Method Man is gorgeous.

  • Anyone know who snitched?

  • @KobeSpawn no one snitched on them, if you watched the show you would know that, they were running an illegal wire tap

  • Someone help me, the one thing I don't get about this part is why would Herc steal Marlo's number so the cops could wiretap him, then tell Levy about it (the wiretap) and help Marlo beat the case? I thought the whole point of stealing the number was he WANTED Marlo to get busted.

  • Levy said it himself, from the moment Marlo gave him his phone number, it was only a matter of time until he was going to get caught. Levy doesnt make money if Marlo walks around free, he gets it when he or one of his people gets arrested.

Herc knew that by giving the cops the number, its all theyd need to get the ball rolling, so that he could work with Levy on the case (thereby making himself useful and looking good) in the end, Herc got what he wanted, Marlo out of the game, defeated.
