  • This performance is so perfect it pisses me off..

  • @bringback10klf dude....just be thankful that you are alive and can hear. We take so many things for granted. peace!

  • @leeportcam I've seen Beck 7 times and as a guitarist he is probably the person I look up to most. it's just frustrating how effortless he makes it all seem. He's a goddamn magician on the guit box

  • :-)

  • Listen to that sound. So beautiful, Jeff Beck does make the guitar SING.

  • Special. Just special.

  • The most difficult concert to get rowdy at.

  • hehe I`m good looking babe

  • @ccmein I detect the rank smell of jealousy.

  • @ccmein1Not even the best of his generation huh?Rod Stewart's guitarist?Jeff Beck is his own guitarist and didn't want to go the pop direction Stewart went in w/The Faces.Any musician w/the creativity and talent such as Beck's will always go his own way. Call it ego or whatever. The fact is he is the most humble dude out there and he's got every reason to be cocky but he's not. Page, Townsend, and whoever else pissed on him...really? Where are those guys today? I'll tell you one thing buddy...

  • @dbrier72 Well put! I just saw him perform last week and it was the last show of his tour, as well as the last show with his line-up. He blew me away as usual! Flawless, soulful, virtuoso who... (IMHO) is one of the top 5 of all times.

And yes... he is a real humble reserved man. That's pretty rare in this industry, especially someone with that much pull and talent.

  • amazing feel..... so sympathetic and respectful to the sentiment of the original.

  • ehm I am sweet, charming and very young with a lot of energy

  • @ccmein I hope you're not serious because all of those people u mention would tell u that on a good day Jeff is the BEST!

  • LOve it!!!

  • So people get ready, there's a train a comin'

You don't need no baggage, you just get on board

All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin'

Don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

  • its all about being unique, the way he holds his guitar the way he uses his whammy bar, simple things but they set him apart

  • Ah, this brings back memories! I remember listening to this song all the time during the latter part of the 80s when I first started listening to Jeff Beck. Amazing artist.

  • Happy Birthday, Jeff! Peace and love!

  • His vibrato technique is amazing. Some of my favorite Beck solo work can be heard on Roger Waters' Amused to Death. Amazing. He makes the guitar speak...and sing, yes. Is he also working the volume knob WHILE using his hand for vibrato for that swell effect at about 1:30?! Sweet.

  • 0:40 Is it just me or does it look like he's shakin an invisible whammy....?

  • @MDSRockets he's actually moving the bridge of the guitar with his right hand, basically a more subtle way of doing what a whammy does.

  • It is just blissful.

  • Una chitarra che canta in modo sublime!

  • sounds like Waitin on the world to change ...

  • @Luckie7falcon77 stolen from this song written by the late great Curtis Mayfield.

  • Look up Shawn Lane's cover of this song. Not human.

  • Waiting on the world to change! just like JMayer's song! XD

  • Jeff plays this song he knows GOD gave him a guitar gift.

  • one world cup, two world wars , one badass british blues giant,

  • He is a magician on guitar, but shut the fuck up,with comments like, the lord gave it to him,the hangman isnt there anymore.

  • Comment removed

  • @Starpass You damn christian, shut the fuck up,if i could i would smite you on your cheek, first left, than right and so on.Yes,i am Luciferian, most of the best musicians in the world are.Die in pain,on the cross where you seem to belong.

  • @Nervengas666 I forgive your hurtful words Go ahead..get a chip; pledge your soul to Lucifer you poor blind man.

The weird thing is that you don't seem to believe in God but you believe in the Devil. How can one exist without the other? Remove the blind fold.

  • @Starpass okay guys calm down now this video is about Jeff Beck, besides no one gives a shit about your religious bull shit anyway.

  • @SlickSmooth22 All right all ready. I did go a bit overboard with my comment that set this fire in the first place. I apologize.

Jeff definitely is one of the greats in blues based rock n roll. I am blown away with his playing.

  • @Nervengas666

    You mean he sold it..

  • I once read an interview to Eddie Van Halen, after a Beck's concert. He told: ..." After listening to this guy, I realize how much I need to learn to play "... no need to say more about it.

  • One of the best forsure!!

  • a very humble genius with his guitar.

  • fabulous

  • It seems like so much time is spent ranking Beck and discussing how underappreciated he is. The guys been a full time guitarist for over 40 years isn't that enough proof he's respected.

  • Comment removed

  • @babinm the best and most successful players in the world all know that Beck is tops . He is not underrated .He is the man

  • WOW:)

  • he's easily the best guitar player around today.

  • best version...needless to say I much prefer Jeff's incredible phrasing over jerkoffs such as sting, rod stewart or joss stone

  • omg :D

  • dudes crazy

  • dudes crazy

  • OMFG... This is sick!

  • that guitar is talking...

    that guitar is SINGING !!!!

  • There is but one Jeff Beck....the guitar king

  • 38 people didn't like this. WHY?! There's some strange people out there. This is wonderful blues playing...

  • @SteffanLlwyd well 802 people do, some times one must see the glass 1/2 full, how sad for those few.

  • @necklix Yep. Its their loss....

  • sounds like Waiting On the World to Change by John Mayer....

  • @flapjackattack4 ...no John Mayer sounds like Jeff Beck .. you have the time line backwards.

  • @flyinghorse2 , and NO he does NOT sound anything like Jeff, he may want to....who doesn't

  • @flapjackattack4 Glad you pointed that out. Curtis Mayfield wrote this song in 1965 as lead singer of the Impressions. So you've got it backwards

  • @emmettk No, I know that, I guess I meant to say that John must have, and obviously did use this song as inspiration for Waiting On the World to Change.

  • Jeff's guitar sings better then most signed "artists" these days.

  • 36 dislikes don't know what great guitar playing is..

  • So good.

  • give the version of this song oficina g3

    was very good

in my opinion is the best version

  • 36 people are not ready!!!

  • Did john mayer use this for waiting on the world to change?

  • @Dmassey22

I already knew People Get Ready and when asked to play Waiting I just use it

  • just saying and I aint gay but if I were a guitar beck could lay his hands on me anytime

  • Comment removed

  • You technicians may joust about, but I have heard nothing but soulful bliss from this chap since day 1. Beck's Bolero. Big fan hooked, man is a genius.

  • Marks6338 Is a Musiclist Friend of me through chosen16O1

  • Thank You! for this Magic upload. Soulful song to my heart!

You Chosen Heart! Probably how this song floats everywhere around me!

    chosen16O1 is a real Musicalist!

    The light shines upon.

  • this WAS music

  • Hes just a Nigel Tufnel look alike. (Jeez..just kidding..Jeff is da man..saw him up close a few times...no one has fingers like him that are attached right to his soul. Awesome player one of history's best

  • Jeff .... then the rest ... simple . Watch it and weep fellow guitarists.

  • If John Mayer stole from anybody, it was Curtis Mayfield who wrote and produced the original. Check it out. Mayfield was a musical genius!

  • Mayer just stole this!! "Waiting on the World to Change" has the same chords!!!!

  • John Mayer is an ASS CLOWN

  • @ishman2983 exactly!

  • @ishman2983 Worse than that. I know someone who worked as a day hire at one of his shows. Says he's of the biggest pricks he ever met.

  • @rayjr62 Hahaha! doesnt surprise me, he shouldnt be able to get away with such a blatant rip off..... I always liked the riff.... i gave mayor some cred for it....... but now i know the truth.

  • People say that "Clapton is God". I saw Jeff and Eric together last winter at Madison Square Garden, plus I've seen each of them individually many times before. Eric can be pretty damn boring sometimes. Jeff is a Guitar God.

  • People say that "Clapton is God". Saw them together last winter at Madison Square Garden. Jeff is a Guitar God. Have seen each of them many times before. Sometimes, Eric can be pretty boring. I've never seen Jeff in a poor performance. Hope I get to see him many more times before it's my turn to check out.

  • Give Jeff Beck a Strat and he can make every sound on earth!

  • What's with Jeff's Hair, seriously? lol. He's like 66 years old now and his hair is still awesome. He must dye it lol. Jeff's a legend.

  • Another thing I like about Beck is that he plays with the BAND! and backs off for others to do their thing etc. which is very cool! I don't like those super guitar players people go on about who just shred shred shred millions of notes none stop! they don't back off for other musicians! its all about them! I get the impression Jeff would be a great guy to jam with

  • 35 people voted this down!? WTF

  • @torreshl76 people are stupid..... some people don't get this, is all

  • How does he get that great vibrato with only his finger picking hand?

  • @MusicMan25JVM whaymmy bar

  • @MusicMan25JVM He's Jeff Beck.

  • @JimmyCheesenip and you're frank taylor.

  • @JimmyCheesenip no he's THE Jeff mothafuckin beck , there can be only one

  • I heard an NPR interview with him recently. He still practices an hour every morning and an hour every night! He may have God-given talents and an incredible gift, but he works at it, too. Good message for the aspiring musicians out there.

  • I think this is what the kids call "phrasing." Dayum.

  • Love this song and I love Jeff Beck's playing. Nuff said.

  • The Wizard !

  • love Jeff Beck... one of the best guitarist ever! feel better already.. thx so much!

  • i love his sound... not been to many concerts, but i actually headbanging at his

he's a kickass guitarist, and vocals would almost ruin it.

  • @dukebag i went to one of his concerts about 1.5 months ago... i literally found myself headbanging to hammerhead. it wasnt a thought, just a natural reaction. then his tone... well like "bluescommander" said above... lol

  • aBsolute JEM

  • i just drewled all over myself without knowing it:L

  • ahahha great line....sex with his tone....it is rather beautiful.

  • @bluescommander, me too!

  • This is the music I want to share with my children

  • he dont need no pick he just thank the lord

  • @Hellblazer344 You don't need no ticket, You just Thank the lord.

And no there's no time for Baggage.

    Just Jump Aboard!

  • give the version of this song oficina g3

    was very good

in my opinion is the best version

  • THE GUITAR WIZARD!!!! JEFF BECK IS THE KING!!!!

  • Beck, Clapton and Hendrix = No equal.

  • @HalflifeBEASTS wrong. clapton is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overrated. put jimmy page and evh in instead and you got your list

  • @1JAT1 Yeah I know that they are also good but it is quality over quantity.

  • @HalflifeBEASTS ya i am saying quality as well. clapton has a few highlights and is a wonderful guitarist. im just saying id much rather listen to page or evh than clapton. notice that i said evh instead of a wanker like yngwie malmsteem. evh can play fast without sacrificing much tone or general sound. page is a truly powerful guitarist. listen to some of the blues of "Led Zeppelin" (album). he slows down songs and injects them with guitar steroids

  • @1JAT1 i love it when page gets bluesy

  • @1JAT1 Clapton used to my @1 fave for years starting when he was with John Mayall. He's does some amazing perfect solo's on various albums. In the last 15 years or so, his live performances have shown me that he's not practicing as much . But on a studio album he knows how to deliver still. Since I was turned on to Guitar Workshop some years back,It's JEFF BECK.There is no other, although I love the playing ofthe late Danny Gatton.

  • Santana is a sell out fag... He got only good tone nothing anymore... Beck is still so awesome... One of my favorites among with Buckethead.

  • Amazing and so pure

  • Santana's tone is much better

  • @BeBopDeluxe85 No way. And that's coming from someone who's been listening to both of them for a long time.

  • @BeBopDeluxe85 That's really not a fair statement. These are two masters with their own unique sound. This is also coming from someone that listened to both for a very long time.

  • @Musicplayful Well since you are too retarded to spell Existent properly, it is quite apparent that you are very under educated. This also means that you are too stupid to really understand what genius is. You dumbfuck.

  • Comment removed

  • @Musicplayful ..lol . So what is the url for this smart word generator? It obviously took alot of effort for you to compose your sentence. Congratulations, you even used spellcheck. lol, pathetic.

  • Comment removed

  • @Musicplayful "waste" .... man you really are stupid. I think it's best that you shutup now, your retardation is embarassing. hmm, could this really be an encounter with some middle aged white trash piece of shit. hahahaha, I think so.

  • Comment removed

  • @Musicplayful You spelled rhetoric wrong. just saying. it was a while ago, but BeBop didn't catch it, so i thought I'd point it out. I don't know what this argument is about, but can we just enjoy this music? in case you didn't notice, the best guitarist in the world is playing in this video.. listen, you might hear something you like. having a fight on the internet is like a race in the special Olympics: win or lose, you're still retarded. this goes for both of you, but i could only reply to 1

  • No offense to Randy Hope-Taylor, but I prefer Tal Wilkenfeld on the bass guitar. She's more inventive within Beck's tight ship.

  • Fender will always have sales as long as people like Beck can bring them to life.

  • I bought my USA Strat partly because of Hendrix :) but their is lots of great players who use strats :) I find it annoying when you come across trendy Guitar players who seem to snub Fender?? and want to use some other brand because Fender is old??

  • @Fender1976uk i am a fender guy, too. i bought a GORGEOUS $2,000+ Gibson LP last spring to finally give it a fair shake after years of not really being all that interested... and i gotta say: it's a nice piece that sounds beaut and i even used it for a few gigs and 2 recordings, but the overall verdict is when i play a solid-body electric, it's tele or strat all the way. the gibson has been sent to storage. :)

  • I'm greedy, I use a USA Strat plus and a USA Gibson Marauder :) nothing beats a Fender for clean sounds though :)

  • @Fender1976uk lol....i understand. i own 18 USA-made fenders and a couple gibson hollow-bodies

  • Thats too greedy but its not bad :)

  • @Fender1976uk when I was 10 I got a strat copy for christmas from my dad, it was epic!

5 years I've been on guitar but I don't practice enough. Good thing Beck's here to inspire me.

  • I started when I was 16 :) I had a strat copy as well and the reason I picked up a guitar was because of Brian May (Queen) always loved his sound and ive seen him live :) I now use a usa strat plus and usa Gibson Marauder. if yuor into effects pedals? look up guys like BYOC, Wampler pedals, Foxrox, monte allums, alot of todays big companys are not as good as they use to be, especially Boss. they stick cheap stuff in their pedals that effects the quailty of the effect

  • The most important thing ive always found with playing guitar is that your having fun and you love doing it :)

  • hearing jeff play guitar is like hearing a great singer sing

  • Rock on Vinnie!!

  • Did he make the deal at the crossroads instead of Robert Johnson! He dosen't seem to age and he keeps getting better!!!

  • keyboard!!!

  • he uses chalk powder on his hands, like a gymnast or a pool player. Wonder what it really is?

  • Cocain

  • @Ejay669 loooool

  • @Ejay669 each one speaks of what he feels in his soul

  • rosin i would guess .like a fiddle player uses

  • Just another great performance by Jeff.

  • Does Jeff own a shirt with sleeves?....just saying

  • @cnoteryan luckily not, for the chicks in the audience

    60 goin' on 16

    buff

  • check out 'stuck in a moment' by u2..and tell me john didnt rip it from that song...seriously check it

  • yeah thought that as well. the verse melody is exactly the same. xD

  • @Ferdie123 Looks that way to me. Just transposed it to key of D

Yup. JB is one of the greats!

  • @Ferdie123 Seems like it, eh?

  • @Ferdie123 DAMNIT!!! what is with these no talent fucks ripping off people. The same thing with Coldplay and satriani, WTF!

  • @TheGuitarkid15 dunno if you could call mayer a "no-talent fuck," but i definitely feel your frustration. :)

  • @Ferdie123 yeah, that was a big cop, imho... you can just sing JM's tune TO this

  • tHAT lEAD JUST kILLS ME

  • Adolf needs to chill out with being such a racist bastard and enjoy the music. Hopefully it will inspire you to change your name. Adolf Hitler can suck my big fat American cock! Just thought I would let you know...have a nice day ya cunt.

  • AMAZING !!!

  • Tusa, vad BRA, han är, till och med bättre än mig!
