@stevesd61 I am transgender, which is why I had the chest surgery and why I was discussing exemption from Selective Service so that other transguys know what to do in regards to it.

@onyerpockets Sure if one would have had the $8k sooner, although I had only been on T 20 months when I got the surgery done, so...

I think I took it easy for at least 2 weeks. And I was able to shower after 2 days. Ask your doctor how long he wants you to take off work, and how long before you can do really intense activity without screwing things up. You will know when you are able to really do things, he will give you an estimate based on previous patients. Listen to your body though, my Dr. recommended 1 wk, I took 2 just to be on the safe side, and felt I needed the extra time to heal.

Hey man, looking great, congrats on the revision! You've got some great results there! I get a little weak watching you peel the bandages off... bad memories with a horrible elastoplast reaction after my revision! :) Cool you did it under local. I'm considering a second revision, and I kind of like being put under, but local would be easier on my body. Thanks for the info!

Glad it helped ya! Local was easier on my wallet, I would have rather been put under! Quick tip, get the script for pain killers BEFORE the revision since I know you have a long trip home same as I did. The pain hit right after my gf missed our exit, adding 45 minutes to the already hour long trip, I was not happy to say the least.

Thanks! I do think I heal well in general, but I also think part of it has to do with the skill of the surgeon. The smaller the incisions the better they heal, at least in my opinion. I can't wait to see what it looks like at the 6 month mark!

LMAO yes I was awake! I didn't have the $700 for the O.R. so I did it with the local. It was that or wait who knows how long to come up with the money, and I wanted it done with so I'd have plenty of time to heal before summer!! Not to mention if I can find a decent job, I won't have to take a few weeks off to heal, or explain WHY I need a few weeks off to heal. The scars were nearly invisible from the first surgery by the time I got the revision. My doctor does awesome work!

Thanks! And nope I went to the website and printed out a form, it has a section specifically for transpeople. I mailed that along with my name change paperwork and birth certificate to them, and they sent me the exemption letter.

Thanks, I was actually passing as male about a decade before I started T, only my voice ever gave me away. After 4 days on T my voice dropped and I passed completely, and after 2yrs and surgery I even pass on the beach now!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
