This brings back so many memories of my dad spinning the great records of the time. There was always music in the air & local musicians visiting. Thanks so much ! ! !
Wille Winfield, The Best of all ! Thank you again Gil, and Thank you Gus Gossert for introducing me to this fabulous music and one of his favorite groups, Willie and The Harptones.. Sorry to hear of the passing of Lowe Murray a later Harptone..
I dont know crap about doo wop but i do know Willie Winfield has got one of the greatest voices i've ever heard period !Theres Pavarotti,Sinatra and Winfield as far as i'm concerned. But what do i know?
Oh yes! This was a big surprise! An added attraction. A big thrill to see him sing in person. Not only that but he exited the stage from the front instead of the back. I got to shake his hand and it left me gushing like I had met this big rock star! One of the biggest thrills of my life to that point!

Willie has a voice of pure gold. Amazing that time hasn't tanished it's greatness.
Back in the late 50s and early 60s we all wanted to sing like the Harptones. Still do.

Willie and tony Willaims of the Platters were the best vocal leads of the era-bar none. Great sound and great song. Thanks for the memory
