@Sanfthauch Asolut sehr wohl, da ca. 80% der sogenannten "Schutzhunde" an einem bestimmten Punkt kippen und somit unberechenbar werden! Nicht selten gehen diese Hunde auf GipsArme oder derartiges ab und werden daraufhin an den Züchter zurückgegeben oder fröhnen ein Leben im Zwinger. Das ist dann für mich Tierquälerei und somit gehören genau diese Leute weggesperrt.........am besten auch nur in einen Zwinger. Ich glaube ich kenne mich damit schon ein wenig aus ;-)

@dasketchez Dann scheinst Du wohl leider sehr oft an die falschen Ausbilder geraten zu sein? Diejenigen, die ich kenne, haben dieses Problem absolut nicht :( Aber da die Welt sowieso nie aus schwarz oder weiss besteht, wuerde ich es nicht pauschal auf alle Schutzhundeausbilder beziehen - Schwarze Schafe gibt es immer ;)

BUT also dog is also what you make of it, always! that ´s why my show dog is great in working also...usually if you are great teacher you can shape your dog..but yes, not every dog have a talent. So choose your puppy and think before reserving one what you want to do with him. if IPO, shoose character correctly if tracking like in my case, our puppy was just amazing in it!!!

But we are working on tracking and obedience and dog is really talanted!! One minus in show dogs can be a size, for great sports often a bit smaller is better, but if you want an IPO dog you just gotta choose puppy correctly and teach him every day correctly. Remember that your dog is what you make of it, not what his or hers parents are!!!

But I tell you somehting! I got a show dog, not from a working lines. But my dog is great in tracking and a hell of a good and fast learner. I knew great kennels and great working dogs, but I chose the pup I fell in love with in another kennel.

Great dogs have kennel Vom Sutumer Grund and Les Gardiens du Pact. Vom Sutumer Grund, Manuela Bortel is breeding great white shepherds that are good for shows and also many are IPO dogs. Benedict and Daniel in France in kennel Les Gardiens du Pact have working dogs and show dogs. For example Targ and Dryade are a dynamite together. Their progency are working dogs. Also Of White Condor, Pia and Dieter Modl. Their dogs are show dogs but also IPO even IPO 3!!!
