Your horse is a beauty ,but you should not need those long shanks, if u do go back to the basics ,halter then use a hackimore then to a bit , like a kimberwick.
I agree with LizC888. the last bit he seemed to be gaiting pretty nicely..but the entire video looked as if you had to keep constant pressure on his mouth. I own 2 Tennessee Walkers and my buckskin 3 yr old I trained myself using Natural Horsemanship. Both gait on a loose rein. Get back to basic groundwork using a rope halter. If he will ride with a halter he shouldn't be to much trouble in a snaffle. All those BIG shanked bits are NOT kind to their mouth and the wonderbit ouch.
@BPsGrl i understand where you're coming from. My twh i trained myself rode with a lose rein too. but this one's a pretty strange breed. His breed doesn't even come into their natural gait til they turn 5. he has to have heavy shoes on his back feet. I don't use wonder bits, that was my friend's. this whole video was just a trial to see how he responded. he likes to trot. that's just how his breed is, therefore, i have to keep some tension on the rein
looks the best in the first bit!!
