@donnygoat I caught this right off the bridle path. It starts by the bridge on W shore, and goes along the lake all the way to tamarack cove.

My boat is docked at the tamarack cove docks. Those docs produce like no other!! SEriously, we catch more bass right from the dock than almost anywhere in the lake.

On the lake itself, by the bridge is good fishin, and over by heighwood trl on the lake is a GREAT spot. There's a line of bouys. Fish them. There's a stone wall below it. MSG me for more!

I caught a Pickeral LONG time ago that was 28 inches long, so i know they can get this big. It was a private Boy Scout camp in Forestburg NY. I used a live 6 inch long Bluegill as bait, he swallowed it whole and it was stuck in his throat and i just reeled him in.

I didn't have the scale with me. It was over 4 lbs tho, that's for sure. Chain pickerel don't get much bigger than this. I had caught another one which was big, but small compared to this one. The smaller one was 27 inches.. Pickerel seldom get longer than 30 inches. This thing was a monster late season catch.

Pike on the other hand are more common to the Great Lakes and the Greater Canadian region. that is a northern pike(jackfish) my friend. Look it up. pickeral look almost like bass. We here call them walleye. I am from canada and work as a fishing guide and have been most of my life. Pickeral aren't really big either and they have sharp top fins like a perch. Pickerals also have small mouths.

Another choice chainsides (over 4lbs easy). How was the fight? I think chain pickerel, pound for pound, but up just as good a fight as any largemouth I've ever caught. You got a ways to go to beat the NJ state record though (9lbs 3oz back in 1957), so get back out there! Good luck.

Walleye is a different fish which does have the top fin, but this is a chain pickerel. Pike do not inhabit this area. It is a man made lake that is no more than 13 feet deep. Pay attention
