  • I think it looks amazing. Im remodeling my guest bathroom with slate tile and bronze fixtures. Did you use glass doors and surroundings?

  • @keole2008 Yes the glass was put in latter. there is a video of it if you want to look for it on my channel it is called Diagonal Master bathroom I added it about 9 months ago.

  • hey do you live in florida? lol. I'm planning on doing the entire bathroom like that. single level home. great work. I'm very impressed.

  • This bath is beautiful!!! Whats up with all the stupid comments!! The new style is gray and browns/rust mixes.

  • This bath is beautiful!!! Whats up with all the stupid comments!!

  • Was that cement board and was no Ditra membrane used as an added water-proof measure? Why does it appear that the tiles in the shower area are grey and the bench top and counter top pieces (granite?) are brown?

  • @denver2brains Not cement board Denshield, Ditra went down after shower was finished and the tile looks gray because it is and the granite is brown

  • whats the process for tiling the ceiling?

  • What a beutifull job! I would love to see the completed job .

I am in the process of doing a washroom and am wondering if I should tile the ceiling. How do you get the tiles to stay on the ceiling when laying them? Do they just stick and stay up?

  • @mississauga0909 You can see the completed job in one of my recent uploads and the tiles will stay up with thinset, no special adhesive required.

  • that shit looks like a fire place, idont like at all

  • Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

  • what shower pan is this?

  • Copper shower pan.

  • wow, I didnt know folks are still using those. Whats the price for getting those made? I use the Shluter system, has been real good for me.

  • Use the schlutet stuff all the time, actually did one of their courses in South Carolina. But here in the Boston area you still get the copper pan every now and then.

  • Its almost as good as my work!

    davetileguy was here.

  • Do you recall what size shower and bathroom you were dealing with for this project?

  • Installed this tile more than two years ago, but as I remember the shower was around 6'x4' and the floor was about 10'x8'.

  • Really nice looking work, thanks for sharing.

  • Cool, I'm not familiar with that product but it looks like good stuff.

Is there a preslope under that copper pan? Do you prefer copper or do you have a neandrathal inspector requiring copper/lead?

  • Yes, some times I don't get to chose what the bed liner will be and have to go with what i am given. If this were a perfect world I would do it the way I prefer every time.

  • Outstanding!

I'm a rookie doing my 2 tile job and came online for inspiration for a niche. Came across yours and Im glad I did. Nice work and the niches are convenient. How much glass will be put in?

  • lot of work, hope you were well compensated

  • This is a nice job! This guy took the time to precesion frame his shampoo niches in order to allow to full tile along the bottom and inside. The joints flow nicely on his returns. The symmetry is good. There's full diagonal tiles at the ceiling.

The backerboard installion looked nice, and the tape job looked clean. I prefer to float my walls, overall I would give this guy an "A" on the installation! I I don't see a lot of mistakes here!

  • Excellent work! Your tile bends around all corners nicely and your hopscotch floor pattern is straight and true.

  • correct me if im wrong but should there not be some kind of water proofing membrane on the walls and floor? but wow what a nice job

  • You are not wrong, look a little closer and you will see that there is waterproofing on the walls and floor. You might not be familiar with them.

  • Saldibs did you use densshield for the walls? Looks like you used fibermesh on the joints but I can't see any waterproofing on them, and what about the screw heads?

  • You can't see it but it is there, i like to use this stuff by Tec called "Hydraflex" it's a waterproofing and crack isolation product. On seams and corners also on screw heads. great stuff works very well.

  • lots of mistakes here. it's amazing you "experts" didn't catch them.

  • As an "Expert" would you care to enlighten me as to where all the "Mistakes" are. It's easy to make a comment and not point anything out that would indicate that you have any reason for that comment.

  • @saldibs Looks like you are relying on the Densshield's waterproof face? Except there are screws and joints all through it.

  • Like I said above I use Hydryflex for waterproofing, It is that little pail you see on the floor in the beginning of the video. I never cut corners and always do what needs to be done.

  • i really like your work, i can see you take time to join 1 wall up with another and have the tile looking like a bit was cut off to go on the other wall i like your attention to detail and the lack of those horrible fucking trims, most tilers would start with a full tile in a corner, i dont say this EVER but apart from my tiling, yours would be one i would recommend to other customers if i was booked up and didnt have time.. and if you lived in Scotland lol

  • great looking job, how long did that job take? are the marble tiles? im a tiler myself, the prob with a job like that here in Ireland(apart from bad walls and floors) is getting the right money for it . Tile stores here always forget to mention to customers the extra costs / time involved in marble and polished porcelain installations.

  • It's not Marble, It's porcelain. The whole thing probably took me about 6 days walls and floor, was not as hard to do as I thought it was going to be when I priced it out. Still a lot of work and worth what I got for it.

  • uuum... floor last? wheres the liner??!! how r u ging to stop the water from going rite through the floor?

  • Look a little closer

  • Copper pan? If so, how high??

  • Don't see to many of them these days, but they usually go 6" high.

  • Wow, nice job! We are about to tile too, but it won't be anything elaborate like your tiling work. We used Dens Shield also.

  • It's not sheetrock, it's "Dens Shield" which is completly water safe, may even be superior to "Durock" or any other CBU.

  • I prefer WEDI Board talk about light weight and completely waterproof. The stuff is expensive but worth every penny when going upstairs. I use it on walls and seats only it's too expensive to use on floors.

  • Have never used WEDI Board, would not know where to buy it around here to try it.

  • @ceramictiletonight From one tile guy to another, all I can say is that - I would be proud to have this work in my past jobs book.

  • @2112taylor This guy is a class act no doubt about it. The guy gets some abstract clients.

  • the 45s that are running through the liner are staggerd and the lines dont match but you almost had it, oh and always center your soap box in you layout k lates..

  • What are you talking about???

  • simply amazing

  • wow nice perfect.
