The TE10 class of locomotives are awesome

@trainmanlars Carbody, frame, bogies, electrical gear, radiators, auxiliaries, etc. are all Soviet built. Putting in new engine does not change that. My opinion is it is still a Soviet design and most of it is still of Soviet manufacture.

Just my opinion, yours is just as valid. They stlil LOOK like Soviet locos.

Loco TE3 ( 5:17 )in Daugavpils Factory are used?

As of our visit in June, 2008 the TE3 was out of service having been just recently replaced with a ChME3.

@fmnut it's hard for me, somebody from Daugavpils, to come up with a reason for you guys (American or English?) visiting this place --- Locomotive Repair Factory in Daugavpils. What did you do there? Do they really hire consultant engineers from the West?

I adore your video. Even my mother, who is quite indifferent to locos and trains, was impressed by its sound and footage. Keep it up!

@sc1ffyp Thank you for the comment on the video. As to the visit to the Factory, we were not consultants, but just a group of western rail fans who enjoy taking photos of trains. The tour was arranged as part of a group tour of the Baltic railways, and I was able to join the tour for two days to get photos at the Rezekne reserve base and the works and factory at Daugavpils. The rest of the tour was independent travel with a companion of mine.
