  • just because its played on a harpsichord, it doesnt automatically make something baroque. it doesn't sound baroque at all, maybe late classical at best.

  • @shariotoflove I beg to differ sooooooo much. I don't know where you have studied, but I would strongly recommend taking a look at baroque counterpoint a couple of more times.

  • @thebulgariankgbleade you can beg to differ until youre blue in balls, ma boy. ive listened to enough Baroque to know that this doesnt sound baroque at all. And since when was counterpoints exclusively Baroque?

  • @shariotoflove I understand...and since I really love Baroque music, it would be so enlightening if you could give me an example of a chaconne in the baroque style so i could learn how to compose properly.

    thanks

  • @thebulgariankgbleade I have to disagree with what @shariotoflove has to say. I too have listened to a lot of Baroque music, especially for the cembalo, and I think this fairly resembles a Baroque piece in many ways. Also, there is indeed a difference between modern, strict, and Baroque counterpoint. If you want a good chaconne to listen to, I could really recommend Chaconne in G Major by G F Händel, HWV 435.

  • @JGBaroque i guess youve fallen for the harpsichord sound as well. i guess your knowledge of baroque is very shallow just like @thebulgariankgbleade. please broaden your horizons.

  • @shariotoflove I can agree that the choice of theme isn't too authentically "baroque-like", but the manner of the counterpoint is indeed quite correct. But since this is no piece written in the baroque period, I'd say that the composer should have the rights to choose whatever theme he likes, if he still applies the "correct" phrasings. By the way, how come you only chriticize, without giving any advice?

  • @JGBaroque they can choose what they will, yes, but you cant then blame me for judging it for what it is intended to be...a baroque piece. you can have any theme and the correct phrasing accompanying it, but that doesn't necessarily make it baroque. why should i give advice? i can only comment on what i hear.

  • @thebulgariankgbleade go an listen to some de visee and figure it out yourself.

  • This piece is absolutely fantastic! It sounds so baroque.

  • @thebulgariankgbleade I would quite, indeed love for you to email me this, this work speaks to the very core of arcane reverie, in such a qualifying for greatness manor, in which, an instrumental with such emotion, such as this, deserves fervently sincerely to be cherished,

  • Its nice to hear the original
