I am so happy to see a happy betta. Heater, filter, 10 gallons of water. I love it. Btw you could get him a golden apple snail, that way simsrule347 might stfu and go play his sims game.
I have an extra 10 gal tank and I really dont have room to plug in a filter can I just keep a couple female bettas in it with 20% water changes every week or anything elese I can put in it thanks
I have that same tank and hood. Did you get that from wal-mart by any chance? Because I did! lol Although I replace the filter with an Aqueon. Way better! Anyways, my real question is, what kind of light bulbs are on that? The ones that came with mine glow yellow, which is okay, but I'd prefer the white glow and actully see the colors. So yeah, what kind of bulbs are you using?
The goldfish tank that my sister has (she's 6 years old... does not take care of her fishies, and she has that big tank even thought she doesn't deserve it... but the goldfish do...) has the blue plant in your tank and one of my male bettas tank has the green one.
me too i cant stand see ing bettas in little cups i only saw like 3 female bettas in like this 4 gallon tank at petsmart nice betta by the way and ima make a vid of my gold fish they use to live in a 2 gallon tank for like 1 month so i got a 6 gallon tank and ppl might think its still small but they are very happy
nice tank but I would put some nice real plants in there instead of plastic, it looks way better, keeps your water clean and your betta wont rip its fins on them
@austipastie Dude, you're wrong. The bigger the tank the better. You can have a betta in a 100 gallon tank and he'd be fine! Give him a little cave to hide in when he's scared and he'll be the happiest betta around! There are many myths about bettas and that is one of them. Bettas can live with other fish, depending on what they look and act like...Betta males shouldn't be kept together, but betta females can be kept together in a group larger than 6. Don't give false facts.

@austipastie lol what? who told you this someone at a petshop? betta fish will live in any enviroment as long as the water is mostly still and planted.
@austipastie dude, I've seen bettas in fifty gallon community tanks just as happy as ever. There were two, a male and a female, and they both lived for four and half years. Betta like MORE water, not less. the key is long, not tall. Go and do a little research, the internet is a great place to start. Get on a betta forum, and then go start making comments on other people tanks. Before that, you kinda just look silly.
Your betta looks really happy, but if i where you id put some other fish in with it. Thats just my opineon tho, you do what you want, mind you im saying all this and this videos like ages old.
Simsrule is a goddamn idiot To simsrule: Bettas need: ATLEAST 2.5 Gallons (5 recommended, myself i go with 10) Filtration Heating Water (duh) Large surface area of the top of the water; air breathers Bettas are kept in small jars b/c: They can breathe air Males fight and u cant effectively hold more than one in a tank They originated in rice paddies bodies of water- shallow(knee deep) but fucking huge, and not dirty, just low in oxygen Okay thats ur debriefing, now go play in the traffic.
alot of people say that beta fish like being in small places. the truth is that beta fish can SURVIVE in small places, it doesn't necessarily mean they like small places I put my beta fish in just as bid of a tank as any other fish. Beta fish also like lots of plants in their tank. =3
I agree I got my Betta 5 YEARS AGO!!!! Wanna know how big his tank is? 10 gallons! Wanna know how many plants? Six! Don't listen to those people your tank is AWESOME!!!!!
You must be really bored dude...serioulsly. You're wasting your breath. I bought the tank because I wanted a fish tank. I bought the betta because I felt sorry for it sitting in tiny plastic cup at the fish store..im happy...the fish seems happy. Stop complaining about stupid stuff.
i aggree 100% that guy just showed how stupid he is also feel sorry for the bettas in the shops its good that you bought him he looks 100x happier than the ones in the store you and your fish take care. ; )
@simsrule347 These type of fish are given too little space. And he has given this fish a wide space for him to thrive and be happy. You should be thanking him for this instead of complaining about something which shouldn't be complained about, this fish looks very happy and why shouldn't you?

. A betta is a hardy fish found in dirty puddles in the wild. It is a slow-moving fish and is not as exciting or beautiful as most others which i know you will resent to but you know it's true. I have a happy betta in a one gallon and yours looks less healthy, worse, and slower than mine. Therefore i have proven that it does not matter what size tank you have for your betta fish so you wasted your money and are not a true interesting hobbyist.

You people don't understand. Fish don't have feelings or say "Shit i hate my tank" the only reason there are requirements to what size tank you can put you're fish in is how much biological filtration systems can handle and what the fish need to survive
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
ok ur all gona think im being mean and stuff and stupid but this was a really bad fish choice. You have a beautiful set up. If you're a true hobbyist put that betta in a 1 gallon tank and put some nice tropical fish in there. You all know you agree you just won't admit it.
He can put some small tetras in or platys. Most bettas are only agresive to other betttas or heavily finned fish. You also need to worry if the fish you put in with a betta will nip his fins to the body.
you know that you can have other fish with bettas you retard and wow bettas are just like any ither tropical fish. If they are a true hobbiest they wouldnt put a betta in a one gal touture chamber >:(
You can get dogs for free. Doesn't mean they're not as good as the ones people pay for.
People keep tanks for different reasons. For many its a decoration or something nice to look at, but for others, its a home for their friend(s). Sure, a betta can do fine in a smaller tank, but if you've seen one in a five or ten gallon, you'd know they obviously like the room.
I have my own betta. He's in the Eclipse 5 and my filter also broke! I went out and bought a Tetra Whisper, though, and he's loving it. The Tetra cleans the tank much better compared to the filter the tank came equipped with. (:
You'll find i actually know alot more info on fish than you, for for your INFO i don't keep any of my betta's in bowls they are in 5 gal tanks each, nor do i keep my Goldfish in Bowls if you look at my vids their in a 2FTx2FTx1FT tank dumb ass! get your eyes sorted out.
ya betta's do better in 5 gallons because they cant really move around a 10 gallon tank... they cant really control their swimming.... seems like short tail betta does better because they dont have those massive fins to deal with
it wont matter about the size of the tank, but try to clean your tank more often rather then use a filter, cause bettas live in steady ponds no flow because their long fins tend to stop them from swiming in water flows.
Nice tank! I'm geting a betta in January (i already have a bowl but saving up for a nice tank during Christmas time lol) and I'm really excited and I hope to get him a big tank- ur betta is very lucky =]
What a cool tank, a big one too! Im getting my 2 bettas in 2 days, one is going into a 5 gal, the other a 4.5 gal(im letting the water cycle first before i get them), anyhoo im sure they will be very happy, like your cute fishie!
Nice tank!Yea, he is living in a castle now.I am moving my Betta to my ten gallon tank because I just upgraded my goldfish tank to a 30 gallon.I am not putting a filter because my other Betta got his fin stuck in the filter and died last time though.
Thanks! I can't stand seeing them in the cups at the store. I even picked up an Aqua Clear 20 filter so I could reduce the filter flow to almost zero.
@skimstr I'm planning on getting a betta and putting it in a 10 gallon. I feel so bad for them when they're in cups too. The petco I go to takes HORRIBLE care of them. Half of them can't even swim, but you can tell they're alive because they shove themselves up with all their mite for some air :(. I'm going to have to cycle it, but I don't even have water in it yet >=(. I need some ideas for decorating.
