  • 9mm and 45 is great... but they pail in comparison to a 30mm GAU-8 from an A-10... lol! but seriously guys. 9mm and .45 are both great, it goes right down to what you shoot best. I mean, personally, I'll take a square chest shot with a 9mm hollow point as opposed to a .45+P miss any day. Its all in what ya like.

  • "Stopping Power" is a big huge fallacy. We've watched people getting pushed back by bullets on TV and movies for so long we've been dumbed down for Hollywood's profit. The faster the round, the larger the wound channel. The larger the round, the larger the wound channel. It is impossible for that bullet to impact the target with more force than the firearm pressed against your hand when you squeezed the trigger.

  • I wanna see a 50. cal through ballistic gel (probably need a lot more)

  • and this is why i wont use a 9mm

  • @jjjjdogify That doesn't make any sense. If the bullet stops inside, that means all (save heat through friction) the energy was dissipated into the target; therefor, more "stopping power." Anyways, it's not that is is a 9mm, it is that it is a 9mm anti-personnel round designed to not go through, 1. collateral damage, and 2. the above statements.

  • @MrFromUSA thats true on all statements but the reason i sad that is that cause bigger caliber FMJ rounds does the same amount of cavitation

  • @jjjjdogify Maybe. I am not knowledgeable enough to rebut that.

  • hollywood gotta make their bullet holes more real

  • @AdmiralAwsome911

A .45 does not leave an exit wound? A typical 230 grain fmj at 850fps will go through and through your chest wuth ease. Dont believe me? Volunteer at a morgue.

  • @Silver00Coin I second that, I've shot plenty of pigs and a good hard-cast lead slug goes straight through them, a full metal jacket might penetrate even more...

  • Say i have a junkie and i have and only have time to shoot 1 round a 9mm he wont feel it wont do anything a 45 will end his life thats it

  • @codwawlover45

Hit that junke in the chest. He'll either never walk another step, or be on the ground before he can get to you. Assuming he's four armlengths away. At that distance, you can probably hit him in the head without using the sights.

  • In japan 9mm is enough maybe ,but in other countries like usa u must use atleast 45 acp people there huge like a deer.

  • @JOKERSTER1919 any round is plenty if your a good shot going for head shots, 9mm is more then enough..people just complain about it because they have no marksmanship

  • @JOKERSTER1919 awwwrrr, not this myth agani. They both have nearly the same kinetic energy.

  • Weak.

  • Could of been a longer video..damn

  • The guy below me is a dumbass. .45 is considered the best for defense because it's a slow massive round that with one shot can knock someone on their ass.

  • @AdmiralAwesome911 no.. a .45 will not knock someone on there ass. anything that could literally do that would near tear them in half. youre a typical dumbass you probably dont even own a gun. and if the 45 is best why do the seals use a 9mm? or the us marshals use a .40? or the secret service a .357 sig?

  • @ibanezkid07 A typical Dumbass who doesnt own a gun? I didnt know there was a whole group of people like that. I go to the shooting range all the time and I now what Im talking about.

A .45 caliber round which travels at a velocity of approximately 850-1000 fps does not usually leave an exit wound which means that most of the kenetic energy of the bullet will have to be transferred to target. In this case a human body. considering that a 45 round has 416 FOOT POUNDS of energy my point is clear

  • @AdmiralAwesome911 Hmm. Energy transfer. IF the bullet has 416 fp of energy, that means that force was applied to your hand while shooting the round. However, last time I shot a .45 my hand did not fall off. So obviosly, energy tranfer has little to do with effectiveess. Want 100% energy transfer on your target? Put a bullet proof vest on it.

  • @dene8989 ...you do realize he is talking about the BULLET not the recoil caused by the gas release when firing then gun. the sheer speed that the bullet lets off once its stopped in the body can cause someone to be blown back. so the force on your hand and the force on the round are completely. 100% separate

  • everyone who says a big as caliber like the .50bmg or a .44 is better compared to 9mm ect., will probably miss on that vital timeframe, watch their bullet blow a fat hole in the wall, notice the other guy shoot, and then see nothing but black.

  • lol bullet got pwnd

  • What about a 10 gauge shotgun with buckshot?

  • @philip21786 it couldn't be done, we couldn't analyze results with ballistics VAPOR

  • looks like it left a decent permanent cavity, though the video ended before the temporary cavity fully recovered.

9mm gets a bad wrap for being underpowered. the irony being that .357 sig is considered to be an effective caliber, when it is nothing more than a .40 s&w necked down to 9mm...9mm +p+ loads, if your firearm can handle them, can be just as accurate and powerful.

  • to be an even bigger ass:

    .500 s&w wins triple.

  • .50 bmg pwns all of you combined.

  • true, but its not designed to fit into handguns. so gtfo.

  • buckshot 12 gauge?

  • Wont cause the destruction of a .50 bmg.

  • i mean both would blow a head off someone.

  • Just to be an ass, .454 casul wins the real deal.

  • Sorry guys. .44 magnum wins.

  • Er no.

    Read the side bar.

It says JHP...those are designed to stop in the body and to have more stopping power. It's mainly a defense around.

It's the same reason why you use soft point or hollow points with deer and hunting....it's an assured kill if you hit the right areas...three shots from a 9mm will do alot of damage in the chest or thigh.

  • understood. I should have read the side bar...

But still... Parabellum is the way to go if you must choose 9mm.

  • @JiroZero713 damn dude, kill deer much?

  • @elixa4 If deer suddenly become armed with ak-47s then yes....otherwise more than likely no.

  • @JiroZero713 Defensive round and higher chance of kill makes no sense. If you want to defend yourself you want to not get yourself killed, and pretty much any bullet should be able to stop someone from shooting back. Hitting someone in the leg with a bullet that make them die minutes later because of internal damage is just cruel.

  • @MoonGeese What the hell are you talking about? I never talked about hitting someone in the leg. If I'm going to shoot someone I'm shooting to kill them not wound them.

It's not cruel to shoot someone if they are attacking you. That's just stupid.

  • @JiroZero713 I beg to differ, if someone is attacking you, you should be allowed to do what is necessary to save yourself. In many cases that does not include killing your attacker.

  • IF you are going to SHOOT someone it should be to STOP them. This includes killing them. Bullets are not magic protection fairies. You should focus on getting away first but sometimes you have to fight, JHP makes this easier. I hate it when people detract from what I really said to distract the real point.

Saying it's cruel to shoot someone with a JHP compared to a FMJ has got some serious dumbfounded mental fallacies. You are SHOOTING SOMEONE. You should be prepared to go through it.

  • @JiroZero713 I can't remember where I read it and why it happens, but I have heard that if you get shot by a JHP and survive, the wound cavity can be shut more easily than if you were shot by a FMJ. Again, it might be a myth...

  • @MoonGeese Internal damage in the leg? What? Now organs are in legs? Where did you go to school?

  • @MrFromUSA No organs, but there are ateries that are easier destroyed with a bullet like this, which means it's easier for them to bleed to death.

  • @MoonGeese Bleed to death. Not many people get that far, because 9-1-1 should be called by then. And then the system says we have to save the criminals. Lunacy if you ask me.

  • @MoonGeese thats not true i have friends in the police department theyve told me some stories where two police man shot a guy 3 with a .40 cal he surivide the two police man both got shot one with a .45 they died and all three men were hit in the chest

  • @jjjjdogify Surviving a shot to the chest doesn't mean you can't get killed by a shot in the legs...

  • @MoonGeese look all i was talking about the part where any bullet can stop somebody in most casses your corret but in other its better to be on the safe side

  • @JiroZero713 Yeah i was just about to say thats not full metal jacket

  • I dont think you know what your talking about.

Do you think a .45ACP has more speed than a 9mm?

  • Uh... You can buy all kinds of rounds with all kinds of different powder and loads.

In essence, a .45ACP is usually slower than a 9mm, although it does have more foot pound energy. Simply because of its weight.

I dont know what you are getting at.

  • To tallandfrothy,

I was simply commenting on your "9mm sucks... no speed.."

Go look up the FPS on 9mm's.

  • try 50 caliber...

  • lol

  • Woh...

    So Cool!

    Very nice : )

  • what about .40, .45? thanks

  • .45 hollow point makes a huge hole and is known to knock blocks off the table

  • there wouldnt be point of makeing a .45 H/P balistics gel demo video ...we all know the outcome right ...

  • @tuttoz Yeah, it would penetrate less than the 9mm does. That isn't my opinion, it is a fact.

  • @tuttoz .45 acp sucks, its slow and heavy. not ideal for personal defence.

  • @ibanezkid07 wtf?, a nine sucks, it just goes threw ur target and does very low actual damage top the person, the 45 causes a greater cavity and much more internal devestation....

  • @happytardedtoad yea a 9mm hp will cause a nice wound cavity too and if it made two holes thats even better cause theyd bleed out faster. and if you have to shoot someone through something a .45 will go from 960fps to 500fps and not do much. not to mention 45 capacity is much much less than 9mm

  • @ibanezkid07 ... 2 9mm holes would bleed someone bought like 1 .45 the round is much bigger and at a slow fps it will puncture and tear more than peirce, also a .45 has lower mag compacity because it doesnt take 2+ shots to knock someone on there ass anyways our baby eagle holds 10 wich is plenty.... by the way i love 9mm i have nothing against them just not a good man stopper

  • @tuttoz Low penetration, no temporary wound cavity, failure to expand? Hehehe.

  • @dene8989

hahaha ... everyone knows the .45 wont overpenetrate in most cases and kill someoone or something standing behind your target ... and iv seen other vids , the wound cavity is pretty dang big , and never seen one that hasnt mushroomed ... ill stick to my 1911 , because shooting twice is silly ....

  • @baconator490 Good to know if I'm ever on a table, surrounded by hostile blocks.

  • @baconator490 My blocks barely move when I shoot them with my 45, O.o

  • @baconator490 please you 45 lovers gotta stop with these far fetched tails of ungodly power

  • @blackriflex39 Amen. I like me a good .45, but there's nothing it can do that a 9mm with proper shot placement (the most important part) can't do cheaper.

  • @blackriflex39 hes actually not kidding, im a 9mm guy but i have seen a few vids of 2 bricks of ballistics gel being shot one after another and the 45 makes it bounce off the table and the 9mm just makes it jiggle really bad.

  • Id like to see .40!

  • Nice

  • lol
