im boycotting post canada im gonna use ups now. i love how the unions are always saying that the goverment wants to make them poor, News FLash!! 26/h is not poor lol
I found out it is cheaper to import things directly from China as far as postage goes and import duties then to import it from the USA right beside us. WTF? The NWO is working at every possible way they can. Just go to sleep and get your chip implanted to save you from the terrorists.
LOL Like the Canada Post Strike is not part of the NWO agenda. LOL it sure is. This guy is a perfect example of how they are trying to shut us down using methods likes this. This strike did not affect me much other than others like him but infact it does affect everyone if they guy can't make money and others like him. They want to take away as much money from us as possible to weaken us. Think about it Walmart, Petsmart, Office depot Home depot all are killing our medium and small buiness
Finally I saw Canadians, who is complaining about the unacceptable outrageous high prices in Canada, I mean the examples are limitless, real estate, post, communication, gas, insurance, ext. I mean there are loads of things that are WAY overpriced in Canada, (keeping in mind that the Canadian official Gross domestic product GDP/per person is much higher than the one in the US GDP/per person) which means that we should be getting same or cheaper services and economy for simple families is the US

Federal express is ripping people off way worse. I tried to order some preserve razors online a few months ago. There were 4 razors in a pack. The size was maybe about 15 cm by 7 or 8 cm and couldn't have weighed more than about 3 or 4 ounces. Fedex was going to charge me $76 for postage to Canada. The razors themselves only cost about $6.
I tried putting in my sister's US post office box address, and the shipping was only about $1.50.
Beautiful video, wholeheartedly agree! I don't live in Canada, but I dread the postage bill when I buy too much from a single Canadian seller on eBay. And sadly enough, when the box arrives and I check the stamp, sometimes it turns out that they even ABSORBED some of the postage costs just to soften the blow. Now, they're on strike. Congratulations, Canada, you've left Colombia, Peru and CONGO for dead in the shit postal system stakes.
There are highly educated people making about the same wages as post workers with no pension or benifits. I think these postal workers whom have basically uneducated highschool diploma positions should go to fucking hell. If they dont want to work, there is a good 10% of Canadians whom would gladly take their fucking jobs. Fucking ungrateful fucks.
Canada Post is a rip off and it's workers are lazy and ungrateful for how good they have it. Their supporters say get a job at CP and see how tough it is. NO, how about you guys come do my job and see how fast you run back to yours!!!
you all don't know really know how the postal service works. Yes they take cabs because the are not given a vehicle to use, they also at times have to take the bus with there mail as well. As they are not allowed to use there own cars to go to deliver the mail. The mailmen in our area our out there rain/shine/ snow storms as well. Alot of the cost is due to high rise in fuel to get your parcel to where it needs to go.
@nemo845 If you had any idea how small my town is you would realise it's just because the one here is just a lazy ass.... at least he is better then the one that used talk to himself and cram the mail in the box like it was a garbage can.
@nemo845 Fix the system, no sympathy here, this isn't a third world country with no running water and no electricity, if conditions are that primitive, it's their own fucking fault. Rather than spending that money on cabs etc, use it to reform the system so people in Canada and abroad aren't constantly getting screwed over by whining trantrum throwing union bosses and workers.
If the service is so bad try UPS or Fed-ex and pay way more. Better yet get a real job like a letter carrier who works in all kinds of weather and has to deal with assholes like you everyday.
YES! Canada post is horrible, fire all of them and create a new, better, separate from the original system. I make stuff too and no one wants to pay the $15 postage on something to get it just down to the USA, when everyone in the USA would only have to pay $3 to do it in reverse, and I don't blame them, in some cases I don't even charge that much for the item, and what is worse little by little, it keeps going up. All I can do is make stuff, and I'm borderline on ending up on the street.
You might try shipping items that are easily assembled. You notice large manufacturers don't send you bed assembled...or your desk, or anything else that is large and costs a lot to ship. Channel your anger into creativity and you might just find a better way. Often something that seems like a road-block is simply a push in a better direction.
@MiaRyanne Do you make a living through the mail, if so I would love to know you're secrets? Did you look at the size of the little box he was showing? No way that was a bed or desk and did you hear the price quoted for it? There is a big difference from buying cheaply made assemble yourself manufactured garbage and someones personally hand crafted arts and crafts. In my opinion he's pushing his anger right where it belongs.
Why are you bitching? There are other people that do the same as Canada Post...got there! OR are they even more expensive? Last time I looked fuel had about doubled in the last few years. You realize everything that is shipped uses fuel, right? I sell on ebay as well and the ONLY semi-affordable way to send it is via Canada Post. My advice to you is to learn to sell things that fit in smaller packages. Instead of banging your head against the wall shipping assembled items (CONT)
Canada Post is truly a disgrace. Ever to to open a dialog with these idiots? I've been waiting eight weeks for a reply to my e-mail. They promised an answer in 5 days.
Yuuup...Im in Ontario ...I went thru this for yrs...piss me right off, sent my models to so many places world wide and those bastards made ALL the profits..I stopped selling because of it..that ultimately lead to me losing interest in the hobby...I went away from it for 3 yrs.. all it was doing was making me miserable, all these folks wanted my work and Canada post made it impossible.
Here is a good example why these SOBs and their supporters piss me off:
(Long story short due to needed funds) my son wants me to put some of his HW Treasure Hunt cars on ebay. To send one Hotwheel car in a small box (20cm x 15cm x 7 cm at 200gm) Canadapost wants the unfricken real price of $13.09 to send it from here in BC to Toronto and yet (I think a still way too high price of $5.85) to send it surface mail to the USA.
@thekamloopian Hey buddy usps has gone tits up canada post contributes to the canadian economy. thank you for keeping me employed and may I suggest you get a venture 1 card for your small business you will save an additional 5% at the counter. Have a nice day
@thekamloopian: Don't you have other options? FedEx, DHL, UPS, even USPS is a wonderful affordable service !
I wouldn't buy from anything from across the border on ebay in the first place. Ebayers dont rip people off shipping from California to east coast shipping, but canadians think its funny to make extra money off their "shipping & handling" and charge like $30 to mail a software title across the border >:(
Heres the funny thing guys, if you want to buy anything from china, I can get a GPS 10 times cheaper with shipping included. I pay no duty like I would if I bought it from the states, (It should be duty free) I get it within a week. Ill wait 5-7 weeks from the states, then get hit with duty more then I paid for the product. I wont buy anything from the US anymore. I blame homeland insecurity, and if something doesn't change the US will have no business.
While I disagree with your opinion, I'm glad you are doing/saying something about it. USPS is hemorrhaging money to the tune of billions a year, taxpayer subsidized. CPC is a Crown Corp that has put out profit for the last 15 years straight, giving Millions a year back to the Gov't of Canada. Currently the corp is on a privatization path attempting to destroy service and raise the debt level so taxpayers scream to offload the burden. CPC has taken on 2.5 billion worth of debt to transform.
I tried to use Canada Post for my business for a month now and it always times out and spits out errors after you give them your credit card. Click on BUSINESS and the page does not load. "SERVER ERROR" on a fucking government website !!!! Anyway a small package via Canada Post is 19.70 but UPS is 25.00 and comes to my door to pick it up.
drive to the US and ship in bulk from there....problem solved ( sorta ) its still going to cost more but would likely be worth it......assuming you are like most of us canadians and live within 100 miles of the usa
obviously you aren't getting the right pricing.... canada post offers volume based discounts try calling into the sales department best bet is expedited (the services have improved and it will get there faster)
First, you should realize that the USPS calls one of their expedited services priority. It is not equal to Canada Posts' priority service. Canada Post's priority service would have your parcel there the next day. So dealing with customs, etc... no wonder it costs $140. xpresspostl costs 46.56 and is guaranteed 3 business days. expedited is 5 business days and costs 30. and I used your dimensions, 15"x10x10 11 lbs. stop whining and get over it. your priority from the US didn't
Don't forgot the USPS is "in the red". They are losing money big time. Canada Post on the hand is posting huge profits as it has for many many years now. Canada Post is greedy though. It might be a Crown-corp but it doesn't act in the interest of Canadians. They don't want to improve service and pass down profits to its Canadian Customers.. They just want to pass the money back to Ottawa and reduce Postal Outlet locations, reduce mail box locations, and increase postage along the way.
@ozzycriss You should of heard the gits phoning in to CBC radio today justifying the cost and pageantry. Video conferencing on a regular basis would be cheaper.
Come to think of it, doesn't Youtube here allow for private sharing of videos among 8 or gee 20 of your friends?
@thekamloopian As you said vid conference would work , but the rulers are making a statment , there telling us there rule is total . Plus dictators thru the ages love to strut around on a stage , and feed there huge egos .
Dude lay off the crack and get a real job. I don't want the debt the states has so retards like you can make a living selling you're cheap crap. Move to the States, problem solved. You keep your job and we get ride of one more Idiot ehhhh.
@thekamloopian A quote from Bertrand Russell that's well worth reading. An admission that vaccines will be administered along-side diet and injunctions (commands) to create an easily dominated 'citizen' Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible .
@ozzycriss Fuck off with the G8 and G20 already. Every country lthat hosts these events spend this kind of money. it is part of being a global neighbour.
Start to worry about the government spending about 6% more every year on programs and the fact that our GNP only grows about 3% a year should worry you more.
Try spend 6 dollars for every 3 you bring in and see how long you can do that. We will end up like Greece.
Hey Steve you should never have to apologize about what you believe in and really when the rates like hat are bad and they are I live in the states by I am starting to notice that our postal rates are getting bad to get my computer parts that all way about 20 lbs is about 30+ dollars 3 day overnight is about 90 so I fell ya
This is simple economy 101 . Where is the government? You truely think they don't see the problems? Extreme bad management ? What they can never get it right ?
They fully undesrstand whats going on , there telling you small buisness can go jump we don't care .
You could have a great business going there steve , $190 thats laughable . I've had friends commenting about buying your wares , but i've told them about the mail situation .
@ozzycriss there was talk about small business stimuli-type programs coming down the pipe in the US, 1.elimination of the capital gains tax on investments in small businesses; and
2.a $30 Billion fund to make loans available through small and community banks to small businesses.
all that is wonderful and such, but it doesn't help with operating costs, you can't take a loan to cover the rent, or shipping costs.
@DerSteiney well, I suppose you could, but I mean it's not very responsible...what if your BIG IDEA doesn't pan out, you're hosed....too much risk methinks.
Something elegantly simple is all that is needed to fix the postal situation , but your not going to see that .
Example We could build a factory that would create jobs and sell solar panels at cost . Thus reduce the drain on the power grid , cheaper bills , create employment . everyone wins , simple stuff .
But no , we have been given a command , to private companys $550 for a smart meter . To save the planet from the climate change con .
sorry Steve...I got riled up....I'm getting involved though. I spent half the day pointing out to people that the rhetoric all over facebook about President Obama cancelling the National Day of Prayer was in fact....rhetoric, I even cited the Fascist News Network's story admitting it was all rhetoric. THis turned into an excersize in futility as I quoted the first Amendment and listened to people's logical fallacies about that....
Do you know what makes me sad about the whole financial and industrial world ? We live in democracy, and that's really really good that we can decide. But in the very same moment, our economy is quite the opposite to democratic ! It's like a monarchical system of "who has enough will get even more". Or even all. So does the postal service. Why ? Because they CAN.
It is our passiveness: It's like the pawn believing: "If I serve just right, I'll be king one day." Whereas the king thinks: "If he keeps serving right, I'll stay king forever."
@Valion I'm starting to question the whole Democracy in the US presumption...I think it's a load of crap, on one hand - there is what the people want...and then there is OFFICIAL US policy - which ALWAYS seems to reflect what corporate interests, rather than what the people want.
@DerSteiney The whole healthcare thing....people have been wanting healthcare for years, but it never became a hot issue until the last election..why?? Because GM said "hey, because of the Canadian Healthcare system, we can build each car $1000.00 cheaper across the border, blah blah blah. Ford had been building CRAP for years, and Toyota has one friggin recall and the media is all over it like flies on a rib roast.
@DerSteiney Meanwhile, the rich shove more and more money up their asses, preventing their self-created Reaganomic "trickle down" and the PROLES like us suffer. Here, some fascist jack-hole runs for the Mayor of my town Fort Wayne, Indiana...and what is his big campaign issue?...abortion...what the hell can you do on a city-level about abortion?? nothing, it's all rhetoric to steal votes.
@DerSteiney The only good news to come out of the whole mayor story is that he got busted over not reporting his campaign finance sources correctly! The same campaign finance reform that John McCain (his own party leader) started.
In the U.S.A. there is a bill in congress to suspend USPS mail on Saturdays. 40,000 postal workers here loose their jobs. How this is going to help the struggling economy? It will slow down trade. With e-mail the USPS has been hemorrhaging every year. Anything over 13 ounces MUST ship priority mail. Gone are the days you could send a big package Parcel Post. While our services will slow down it pales in comparison to Canadian post. Holy crap that is just outrageous.
About 2 months ago, I ordered a vintage shirt off of ebay. The seller shipped from Canada. S&H was $10. I paid $30 altogether. When I got the shirt, I saw the shipping receipt. $23 from ehh...(I think) Manitoba to Northern California. in a box approx. 10inx8in. Just a shirt.
I felt bad for the seller and well, I now feel bad for all Canadians. High shipping fees really suck.
I've heard many complaints about shipping into and out of Canada
I can mail most things to Canada first class in a flat rate box..usually getting there in 7 days sometimes 9 for about $6-15 dollars...depending on wieght or odd lenghts
U.S.priority mail & express (overnight or 3-day) gets a little pricey but nothing near that!
I would think with the duty-tax your postage would be a bit cheaper:)
I never pay for air..most mail is automatically going to be air-mail here in the states.
Yeah Canada post blows goats. They lost a package of mine US bound. And yeah they really like to bend us canadians over the table. I mean do they not know they are not the only game in town? Those greedy sunsabitches!
Steve...i feel for ya....100%.....there is a reason why i LOVE UPS....USPS can still screw you, i sent an 8 pound small/medium box via USPS...cost me 13 bucks....ITS GOING 2 STATES OVER!!!! and it took them a week and a half to get it there!!!! i could have driven there and back in a day!!! your telling me it takes to that long to get there....goodness....now...ship is UPS....would have been there in the week...and cost me 14;50....extra 1.50 to get there on time AND IN ONE PIECE!!! USPS sucks
Why don't they talk about the (CAFR's) where all the gov't of America take ALL the TAX dollars and invest in the STOCK MARKET owning 80% of the stocks. They MAKE TRILLIONS and never report it on their BOOKS. Then they LIE and tell the Canadian people they are BROKE> why don't the LYING media talk about that? Now you know why our schools suck and our infrastructure is falling apart. CANADA YOU ARE BEING ROBBED!! GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE IT!
@Valion Hi Guy, glad to see you're still around. Hard not to get angry at the injustice of it all. They increase rates every year and down-grade the service. Our government needs to take back OUR postal service from the crooks running it.
I will be working on some of the smaller scale stuff here in a bit. I'll send you a note when I start it.
I near pissed myself laughing at this. Seriously though, I would like to take part in more exchanges with my American and UK friends but the shipping out of Canada by whatever means is rediculously overpriced. BTW NAFTA has nothing to do with the shipping rates, it's about the duty on goods traded between Canada, Mexico and the US that are manufactured in said countries
Steve, does Canada not allow businesses to compete with the government post?
Because UPS ground is the cheap, I can ship like 2 pounds from California to North Carolina in 4 days and it is like 9 dollars, (anywhere in Canada wouldn't be much more farther than that).
Why wouldn't a company compete with the governmental service?
wow, I just used the UPS rate calculator, and that same package dimensions, and weight would cost a minimum of $90 via UPS - I just figured a generic declared value of $20. That is interesting...but bullshit
ok, so maybe with NAFTA there are no "OFFICIAL" tarrifs, it sounds like the rate hike is just designed to discourage exports.....SOunds like the Canada Post needs to take Economics 101
Well, WTF is NAFTA supposed to be about then??? I'm pretty sure th acronym stands for North American Free Trade Agreement, it's not so free really. We used to be able to go up to Detroit/Windsor for the weekend to party, we would just tell em at the border gate that we were going to Windsor to gamble...no big deal, you can't even do that without a passport anymore.
i tottally agree with you. i sent some train gear over the border through Canada Post and swore i'd never do it again! not only did it cost me double what it cost the other guy over the border sent stuff to me,,but when he recieved the package it had been opened, retaped and parts were missing making the loco and rolling stock worthless.i'll stick with UPS from now on.
lol man you have a point. the goverment in any country realy dont realy care about the small bussiniuss and well they always say small bussiniuss run the country.... how are we suposed to do this if we handicap our selfs ??? seriously govements dont listen to the simplist of quries
JESUS!!!!! THATS INSAIN!!!!!!! You guys need to NATIONALIZE the postal service!!!!! And kick them BITCHES OUT!!!! Not that I trust governments to run shit right (I DON'T!) Heres the funny thing guys, if you want to buy anything from china, I can get a GPS 10 times cheaper with shipping included.

Hey Kamloopian, you are one loopy dude, you know that?
pipecover 1 year ago
obviously you aren't getting the right pricing.... canada post offers volume based discounts try calling into the sales department best bet is expedited (the services have improved and it will get there faster)
amycampbell84 1 year ago
Hey jackass,
First, you should realize that the USPS calls one of their expedited services priority.

The cost of hosting the G8 and G20 summits next month in Ontario now stands at $1.1 billion and further outlays are likely, federal documents show.
At least the peasants in ancient Rome knew they where ruled by dictators .

@ozzycriss You should of heard the gits phoning in to CBC radio today justifying the cost and pageantry. Video conferencing on a regular basis would be cheaper.
Come to think of it, doesn't Youtube here allow for private sharing of videos among 8 or gee 20 of your friends?

@thekamloopian A quote from Bertrand Russell that's well worth reading. An admission that vaccines will be administered along-side diet and injunctions (commands) to create an easily dominated 'citizen' Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible .
ozzycriss 1 year ago
@ozzycriss Fuck off with the G8 and G20 already. Every country lthat hosts these events spend this kind of money. it is part of being a global neighbour.
Start to worry about the government spending about 6% more every year on programs and the fact that our GNP only grows about 3% a year should worry you more.
Try spend 6 dollars for every 3 you bring in and see how long you can do that. We will end up like Greece.

This is simple economy 101 . Where is the government? You truely think they don't see the problems? Extreme bad management ? What they can never get it right ?
They fully undesrstand whats going on , there telling you small buisness can go jump we don't care .
You could have a great business going there steve , $190 thats laughable . I've had friends commenting about buying your wares , but i've told them about the mail situation .
ozzycriss 1 year ago
@ozzycriss there was talk about small business stimuli-type programs coming down the pipe in the US, 1.elimination of the capital gains tax on investments in small businesses; and
2.a $30 Billion fund to make loans available through small and community banks to small businesses.
all that is wonderful and such, but it doesn't help with operating costs, you can't take a loan to cover the rent, or shipping costs.

@DerSteiney well, I suppose you could, but I mean it's not very responsible...what if your BIG IDEA doesn't pan out, you're hosed....too much risk methinks.

@DerSteiney
Democracy
ozzycriss 1 year ago
sorry Steve...I got riled up....I'm getting involved though.
DerSteiney 1 year ago
Do you know what makes me sad about the whole financial and industrial world ? We live in democracy, and that's really really good that we can decide. But in the very same moment, our economy is quite the opposite to democratic ! It's like a monarchical system of "who has enough will get even more". Or even all. So does the postal service. Why ? Because they CAN.

It is our passiveness: It's like the pawn believing: "If I serve just right, I'll be king one day." Whereas the king thinks: "If he keeps serving right, I'll stay king forever."
Valion 1 year ago

@DerSteiney The only good news to come out of the whole mayor story is that he got busted over not reporting his campaign finance sources correctly! The same campaign finance reform that John McCain (his own party leader) started.
DerSteiney 1 year ago
In the U.S.A. there is a bill in congress to suspend USPS mail on Saturdays. 40,000 postal workers here loose their jobs. How this is going to help the struggling economy? It will slow down trade. With e-mail the USPS has been hemorrhaging every year. Anything over 13 ounces MUST ship priority mail. Gone are the days you could send a big package Parcel Post. While our services will slow down it pales in comparison to Canadian post. Holy crap that is just outrageous.

@QXNINE I would think that all the online buying and selling on the internet would have BOOSTED the USPS business, not hapered it.

Anarion18 1 year ago
Damn the price that they're charging, that's just wrong. Can you ship via UPS or will the Canada Postal Service not allow that?
Anyway, keep posting vids, at least you can do that and not get charged an arm and a leg, at least not yet! :-)
Johnprime69 1 year ago
I've heard many complaints about shipping into and out of Canada
I can mail most things to Canada first class in a flat rate box..usually getting there in 7 days sometimes 9 for about $6-15 dollars...depending on wieght or odd lenghts
U.S.priority mail & express (overnight or 3-day) gets a little pricey but nothing near that!
I would think with the duty-tax your postage would be a bit cheaper:)
I never pay for air..most mail is automatically going to be air-mail here in the states.

Steve, that suck. No, not you telling the truth, but rather that you can't get your products out into the world.
Still though, I am happy to have you sending your ideas and hints to us.
Hey, bro, simply don't let them make you angry. Apathy still s'''ks, how about organizing against that ? I mean it's not just your problem, eh ?
Greetings from Germany (where post is expensive, too)..
Valion 1 year ago

DerSteiney 1 year ago
ok, so maybe with NAFTA there are no "OFFICIAL" tarrifs, it sounds like the rate hike is just designed to discourage exports.....SOunds like the Canada Post needs to take Economics 101
DerSteiney 1 year ago
Well, WTF is NAFTA supposed to be about then??? I'm pretty sure th acronym stands for North American Free Trade Agreement, it's not so free really. We used to be able to go up to Detroit/Windsor for the weekend to party, we would just tell em at the border gate that we were going to Windsor to gamble...no big deal, you can't even do that without a passport anymore.
DerSteiney 1 year ago
i tottally agree with you. i sent some train gear over the border through Canada Post and swore i'd never do it again! not only did it cost me double what it cost the other guy over the border sent stuff to me,,but when he recieved the package it had been opened, retaped and parts were missing making the loco and rolling stock worthless.i'll stick with UPS from now on.
