We have a wheaten named Kracker, came from a breeder called a'dorable pups....Kracker was very sick when we got her because the breeder was actually a puppy mill owner and Kracker had a horrible parasite...make sure you go to your breeders home, dont be convinced to meet somewhere for meeting and pick up!!

Just adopted a Wheaten from a dude who didn't want him anymore. What a sucker that guy was...I got a great dog for $0. Gets along great with my 2 Airedales AND the cat! Two months of work and he was completely housebroken.  Super, super dog.

Wheatens are precious. However, it's extremely important to purchase one from a reputable hobby breeder, NEVER from a pet store, newspaper ad, or puppy miller. Two forms of a protein losing disease in this breed are far more prevalent in puppy mill dogs. The disease is deadly.

I waited too (for about a year after the breeder interviewed me). As you said, it was worth the wait! My Wheaten is almost 10 now, and I still talk to the breeder and her daughter (who does grooming for us). Can't understate the important of waiting to find a good breeder for any dog.

Just be aware that Wheatens take a LOT of grooming. A lot of them wind up in shelters or rescue because people love the cute puppies but don't realize they are getting a dog that requires daily brushing and trips to the groomer every couple of months. You can do the grooming yourself but it is time consuming and you will need the right supplies.

Wheaten terriers are the cutest dogs eva!!!!! I love my beast of a wheaten. He's about 33% bigger than average and I'd say 100% more rambunctious.

@Zwubby222 I have a 5 month old wheaten terrier, and he is the best thing that has ever happened in my life.. extremely easy to train,at his young age he knows more commands than most other dogs i know. He is super cute and so very soft.. he has alot of energy and loves to go for off leash hikes. He is also very compassionate towards my girlfriends 18 year old peekapoo (pekinese poodle x) and with small children!! great video!
