  • she has had some work done, her lips for one and some fillers around he cheeks and so. I sure wish she hadn't had it done, can we say Joan Rivers?

  • OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN IS SO SWEET ....SHE SHITS SUGAR !!!

  • Love it, Love it, Olivia !

  • she's 58 freaking years old in this vid and looks awesome.. way to go sweetheart!

  • Wow, that smile at the end was heart melting. You go baby girl, lol

  • Was this really the number one song back in August of 1980 when I was born After hearing this song I want to kill myself knowing that it was the number one song on the day of my birth.. FML

  • Olivia sounds really good. But she does sound different from the 80's. Less playful, more vibrato. The sax and jazzy sound have me looking for David Bowie.

A more mature Olivia may not be everyone's cup of tea. But she's not pretending she's 30. And not everyone is Paul McCartney and can sound the same 50 years later.

  • A special treat.

  • She just turned 59 when this appearance was filmed in Oct. 2006. Most people don't realize that ONJ is a great live singer - none of this engineered/AutoTuned stuff. She cut her teeth on Cliff Richard's live TV show in late 60s/early 70s. No faking there. Those who watched the AMAs saw today's singers flop badly in their live performances. That same week ONJ was in Chile -- check out her live performances there. Wow at her energy!

  • it is amaging that she is still keeping her key of voice.

  • she lost her young and sweet voice

  • Ugh. I hate the arrangement on this live. Especially the first 10 seconds or so. Just sound so off-key. Olivia sounds great, its just that backing band of hers.

  • i agree..simply amazing...love you olivia and Godbless..

  • Those backround singers sound Horrible!! This is a song Olivia should be singing by herself.

  • i'm 38 and looking at her like i was 10 . i know thats fucked up but man its funny how crush's dont go away

  • OMG is this her actually singing LIVE perfectly????? She sounds exactly like the recording if not better, and she is like in her 50s right? Shes a true star

  • @TaraAshleyTWILIGHT21 She's 62. Looks pretty amazing, huh?

  • awesome song and arrangement. olivia should go down as one of the most beautiful people to EVER live.period.

  • She is still beautiful and her voice is perfect still after alll these years

  • @brib333 Your are aso right. Not only that, but it all sounds like the same song. Even Rock stars do it now too. It's like they are getting back at the public for sdownloading music. They figure all we doing is downloading the same sing over and over.

  • what did she do to her face?

  • @islezeus she is just around 60 years of age in this video.

most vids you see are 30 plus years ago.

for her age she is absolutely beautiful and just as talented as she ever was.

she has the most disarming smile i have ever seen....even today.

  • botocs she put on her face ahahah is that all do. ahhahah

  • @tamnaya learn to spell and form sentences, you may be taken seriously someday

  • @gregorskiff

I did so no one complains of ill Olivia, after all she is a warrior had cancer, I love her, and she still beautiful, just replied on a comment they made about her face that was different. (I said I was botocs, as they all do. Maybe one day I also put on my face when you're 70 years? ahaha)

  • i still hear the sandy in her voice i still love you olivia

  • Oh, and I have to point out that the monitoring is probably terrible. That's why the singers are struggling. This is NBC they are notorious for absolutely horrid sound. Vocalists are scared to death and they don't sing with confidence and understandably so.

  • God, why does she always end up with garage bands? LOL I've never seen such unreal talent paired up with such mediocrity behind them :(

Always this. Bad band, drunk background vocalists. Ouch. This is painful. Poor Olivia.

  • @raceywalrus that IS her band, the soundstage acoustics and equipment suck

  • I love thw ay her voice has matured....this is a very raw sounding version of this tune. It sounds REAL to me. No tricks, no effects to mask things. this shows the world that she was never a studio trick like most of today's wannabe front people.

I don't see anything wrong with the way she looks...she's older, and still beautiful

  • This lady is still so incredibly talented,...even better with age.

  • Thanks for sharing dear friend.

    I agre with you 100%!

    I love Olivia Newton-John!!!

  • I thought we were here for the music, not how much surgery she has had!!!!!

  • so beautiful and great voice!

  • sigue haciendonos soñar como entonces que es lo mas bonito. gracias Olivia.

  • Some pretty tough comments here. First, there is not a THING wrong with the way she is singing. That is the sound of a seasoned singer. She doesn't lose it anywhere, certainly not on the higher notes. She has a wider vibrato now than before. On the looks...I don't know. On my computer, she seems fine. If there's a hack plastic surgery job, I can't see it. And this is a really nice arrangement of this song.

  • @hklinker absolutely correct, she shines vocally here...this is live, she shines even with the horrible sound stage setup.

if she has had help with her appearance surgically that is her decision, at least she does not have huge fake breasts, now that would be sad.

olivia has always played down her beauty and shined with talent, that deserves some amount of respect but alas...this is youtude.

  • @hklinker Agreed. Only fools compare live singing to the studio only to criticize the live version wondering why it didnt sound exactly like the original? She looks and sounds great. I write, and sing live music in front of large audiences with some of the best musicians in this very populated area and I have a great sense of pitch. Olivia's voice sounds great, stylistically its a little diff't than the original but so what. She's spot on. For a live job she nailed this 99.9%, awesome job.

  • Too much surgery on her face....

  • i'm going to see her in concert in Feb. and i'm pumped! I have been waiting to see her since I was 5 and i'll be 37 a week later after the concert. As far as Im concerned, all she has to do is just stand there on stage and not say a word! It's kinda exciting to me, to be in the same building as Olivia! LOL i know, i'm nuts!

  • She's 60 year old, find me another singer with a great voice and charme like Livvy. She still the best in my opinion

  • Lets not adore worship idolers and using Ms.Newton-John as a god.she is my all time favorite singer and in her heyday she was a huge hit and had all the world but as we get old our bodies and voices change and in this video her voice really slacking up their in the high notes and with pizass , its the voice ,it has gotten older ,raspier, and different man but there is only one God and its not her dude.

  • @viclagoon you bring up some good points, she is not to be seen as an object of worship, she does not sound like she did when younger, she does not look like she did when younger.

however, lets put things in perspective.

This performance- horrible acoustics and sound support.

she is much older with POSSIBLE plastic surgery...maybe a facelift...can any one actually PROVE this or is it all assumption?

she has alot of control and refinement here...remember, this is live.

  • Gosh, I used to think there was no God but after she sang, I think there just might be one!

  • Great song,great voice.I love you,Olivia

  • Performance is awesome! I don't like the look. I wish she would've just stayed with low tier facelifts. This Joan Rivers style surgery is no good. We need to tell the truth so that beautiful aging women will stop getting these cookie-cutter surgeries!

  • Well... If I was 60 and my wife looked like Olivia... You would not hear any complaints from me. ;)

  • I totally agree now looking back at when I made this comment lol. Since then, (a month ago) I've softened my outlook on this feeling a lot more and developed a better understanding of how this comes about. Olivia is so beautiful and talented I'll always be thankful for the influence her work and her presence has had in my life. Thanks for replying, as its always a good thing to revisit and watch this awesome performance again :D Jess

  • Has to be her most magical and lasting song of her career.

  • This song is truley timeless along with Olivia. I doubt anyone will care to see Mily or Rihanna in thier aged years, but ONJ real star quality. I'm 39 and I know I would still be mesmerized by her presence.

  • Yes.

  • @drnrg31 Gosh I wish I could live back in the 70's and 80's and stuff. I hate the way the world is now. im 25 and crave all the great music we used to have. 90% of all the new music is pure trash with no soul.

  • truly wonderfull

  • Thanks Amanda, i'm sure like Olivia you are a fox!

  • i know what she looked like in the magic video. she looked good then. looking at her now, she looks good. but, unlike people and entertainers her age. she looks very good, and sounds good. she may not hit the high notes anymore, but she can still sing beautifully. and better than most women half her age

  • she still looks good. and sounds good. how many singers her age still look and sound good

  • I like this song a lot, but sorry to say this... her age really shows in this live show.

  • Yeah well, you won't be in your twenties forever either.

  • Hahahahaha... of course you're right! But then again, I'm not an international superstar like Olivia Newton-John, so nobody really cares if my jawbone collapses in twenty years' time. Let's face it; when you're a superstar, people will make comparisons between the youthful star and the aging veteran. I'm not saying she's less of a person because of that, but in the music industry, a pretty face helps, and she's seen better days. See her in the original MAGIC video against this and let me know.

  • I've seen it many times over the years. And I beg to differ on such a shallow view which indeed reflects the mentality of so much of the world today. I feel that Olivia has already established her mark on the entertainment industry, and if people still buy and enjoy her music, they obviously see her true beauty and magic in her voice and presence. A pretty face is just a mask, my friend. Olivia represents strength and endurance to a lot of women. And she still sells tickets.

  • Of course, nobody will argue that she is a great artist, which she was, probably still is, and certainly will be remembered as. Nobody's taking that away from her. But the truth is that artists go through their peaks and valleys, and in "shallow" terms, she rode the crest of the wave a long time ago. If that's what a pretty face is, then it's time to get a new mask! You're very much entitled to your feminist view as much as I'm entitled to my "superficial" angle. Your opinion is duly noted.

  • lol Seeing people beyond their appearance makes me a feminist? Oh dear. Nevermind.

  • Hahahaha... bottomline is, Olivia's getting older. But if you ask me, I'd rather listen to her hits than some contemporary pretty chick with no talent. Having a pretty face is a bonus, but it shouldn't be used to mask absence of real talent. During her heyday, Olivia had the whole package. Personally, I check out the music first, but I can't help it if I notice a hag singing my favourite hits instead of a pop princess. Just a joke... Olivia's aging quite gracefully, I think.

  • There wasn't an original Magic video. But in the performances she did in 80/81 - many were mimed. This is live, and a fine performance.

  • what you talking about. she still looks good. i think she has aged well.

  • See how she looks in the original MAGIC video and let me know. Obviously I'm saying this because I'm besotted with her early 80s image, but that's just me. Maybe my sin is that I'm stuck in a time warp. People have moved on and aged since.

  • umm i have, and she sounds just as good then as she does now. maybe she dont move as well, or hit the high notes like she used to, but she can still deliver the goods as a entertainer

  • Exactly my point. All I'm observing is that age takes its toll on entertainers, which is why (whether we like it or not) there is a high premium of youth as a selling point for recording artistes. Sure, she can still deliver the goods, but when you have a loyal fan base that is very forgiving of your shortcomings, that comes easy. I like Olivia as much as the next person, but if I have to be critical, I'd say she was sharper then than she is now. Not bad for an aging artist, though.

  • I know, it's wonderful to hear that maturity in her voice, isn't it?

  • @cormackcarr Hmm... It is really her? Because she doesn't look or sound like Olivia Newton John!
