They should allow head stomps, soccer kicks, & knees to the head; plus give a penalty card for lay & pray like they did in the good ole days in PRIDE. His standup and footwork were far greater than Huerta's.

He put Huerta in a kimura that Kenny Florian said he would've tapped from.

He's a huge fighter for the lightweight division, stronger than pretty much anyone in the division. Probably the best wrestler at 155. Has incredible footwork, and is an elusive striker.

I'd love to see him fight Tyson Griffin for a title shot vs Penn.

No one is beating BJ anytime soon though at 155.

1) The decision wasn't even close.

2) Maynard was winning the standup.

3) Maynard dominated the grappling, and had a deep kimura that did damage to Huerta's shoulder.

4) Maynard had 3 takedowns, Huerta 0.

5) You're accusing Maynard of being one dimensional as a wrestler, but fail to see the hypocrisy in saying he should have only kickboxed with Huerta, as Huerta's ground game was subpar in the fight.

Maynard was doing better in the standup. Go to fightmetric and look. Maynard was winning in the standup, and removed all doubt by dominating on the ground and taking Huerta down at will.

His standup is not weak, his footwork is great, boxing is good, and he is very evasive and smart about the way he fights.

He doesn't stand in the pocket hoping to knock someone and relying on a strong chin.

The fight wasn't close.

I hate watching this dude fight...before the fight started I told my friend he was here, "Watch, Huerta is gonna use his kickboxing and finish this dude and then Maynard is just going to turn it into a wrestling match" that's exactly what happened...he took Huerta down and that was it...except that one sub attempt...but I'm disappointed that Huerta didn't finish Maynard...he had him caught several times, but didn't keep pulling the trigger. It should have definitely been a split decision.
