In a way hollywood film is in the silo- well the temperature controlled vaults. Why use a 1000+ pound camera using ~70mm film? Because even our highest digital standards for entertainment (4k) is nowhere close to the amount of information you can pull out of larger film. When they shoot a blockbuster on this type of film, you can release 1080p for the current masses, and in a few years release a 4k standard, and still have true upgrade ability to higher standards. But they are dinosaurs
