I do not think that it is corrupt for a pastor or minister to have a business that essentially "sells" God or religion. It is what they do with that money that matters. The bible states that salvation is individual, that no one can be saved by another person unless thru Jesus. Many people might serve as a bridge to bring others onto God, ie TD Jakes, Joel Olsteen etc., but will not be saved themselves. Therefore in this case Bishop Jakes may have brought a few thousand people to the feet of the Lord but he himself may not have his name written in the book of life.

Although the size of the figures seem to do with greed, it's not so much that as a problem... Consider everyone giving an offering to their local church for the good of the church and the people, yet when there are more people attending, there is more money, and then there is more of an outreach (television, etc.)
Yet, that means that the surplus is also greater, and each preacher is accountable (like all men) for their own deeds.

I do not think that it is corrupt for a pastor or minister to have a business that essentially "sells" God or religion. It is what they do with that money that matters. The bible states that salvation is individual, that no one can be saved by another person unless thru Jesus. Many people might serve as a bridge to bring others onto God, ie TD Jakes, Joel Olsteen etc., but will not be saved themselves. Therefore in this case Bishop Jakes may have brought a few thousand people to the feet of the Lord but he himself may not have his name written in the book of life.

Though by no means should anyone ask them to give all their money away (even though the bible does say to, you can't expect that), being that rich it is your communal duty to be economically useful & to provide mass jobs to the people, even if menial, not to build walls around yourself & your givers & call it making the world better, especially w. that doctrine. They are just ashamed of their humble backgrounds.

Also, when the general population attempts to point out some sort of glaring flaw(hoarding), the response is always having something to do with them having bitterness or envy. Just a classic excuse of not being able to decipher circumstance & to take credit for things, but to not take responsibility for faults that may come with it. A preachers salary should be determined by some some sort of accountability, much like the US presidents'. We need more practical, science-minded role models anyway.
