If you indeed are "pro-science" and care about preserving our only habitat, your support for ron paul is misplaced. He advocates the "free" market which will consume the health of our resources (atmosphere, oceans, etc.) causing harm in the long run. Our economy is of concern but deregulation and a move away from protecting that which sustains us is counterproductive. I post on vids to inform those that don't understand this but might begin to think critically about it.

@ReduceGHGs You should prioritize... I can't remember who it was but somebody showed that the world's spending on global warming legislation could have been used to totally eliminate malaria. If I had the choice, I know which of those I'd prioritise higher. The fact is we don't have any good plan for stopping or reversing global warming at the moment, and restricting industries doesn't seem to be a very satisfying answer.

And fyi he's the only guy who wants to pull out from the wars for oil. In an interview: We should start by ending subsidies for oil companies. If oil were allowed to rise to its natural price, there would be tremendous market incentives to find alternate sources of energy.

To deal with the many GLOBAL environmental issues of deterioration it will take fed regs, laws, and policies. Do you expect a foreign country to deal with each state differently? Water and air pollution don't restrict themselves to state lines. What we do here now effects climate globally. We therefore need to act accordingly.
Oil and coal's "natural" prices are still cheaper than green alternitives. That's why we need the indirect costs ADDED via regs, taxes, policies, etc.

With all the other candidates pushing for the oil in Afghanistan, oil is going to be even lower, which means more expensive/pointless to invest in green projects for consumers.
