British Army with the North Irish Horse, an Armoured Regiment, which fought from Algeria - Tunis - Sicilly - Italy - Austria. 3 1/2 years away from home.

O really? wow thats something, brave man. Like I say I have quite a lot of family that served in that war. My Great Grandpa was a solider who served on the English beaches, he was the one that carried the strechers. I got to speak to him about him, he was a lovely man. I have more on my Maltese side.

Well, my relations weren't so lucky. They got defeated all the time.

My uncle was in Crete and got shell shock.

My other uncle lost his head in Libya.

My father lost his eye and was the only survivor in his batallion.

My other uncle was a conchie and was an ambulance driver.

My father's cousin was a flag rank officer and fought later on in the war.

Another uncle fought in corvettes as a leader. Two were sunk under him.

Another uncle fought at Cassino and lost also.
