  • Loved the Jam when I was a teenager, recently got their entire back catalogue and this is one the best songs, amazing!!!

  • Imagine how many times Weller thought....Bruce FOR FUCKS SAKE SORT YOUR CUNTY HAIR STYLE OUT

  • 240p for sound.

  • Change from 360p to 240p. Not deaf anymore.

  • i think i'm deaf

  • I love the sound of silence.....Simon n Garf never looked like this.........

GET IT SORTED OR GET IT OFF....

  • Where the hell is the sound?

  • No sound

  • @owteufel agree! No sound!

  • haha... youtube strikes again! this is catalogue jam, you like the poses, you buy the sounds!

  • No sound!

  • No sound.

  • The screen capture before you click on it to play could be Noel Gallagher. He looks so like Paul Weller here.

  • Personally I think this was their best song, it kinda sums up what this band were all about, and brings back memories of places I've visited in the past that were somewhat dangerous.

  • 240p for sound

  • where's the sodding music ??

  • @sdunne007 Exactly!

  • The bass counter melody is a punchy boot boy song in its own right! FOXTON wrote tunes within tunes!

  • there's only ever gonna be one Weller....beyond a musical genius

  • you should have a "love" coz like isnt good enough for this classic tune ;-)

  • Love the Jam <3

  • 1st class.Without a doubt the best band to come out of the "Punk "era.Paul Wellers' written output from 78-82 is just genius. The amount of just 1st class songs written and recorded in those short 4 years is incredible. These days it takes a band that to record 1-2 album and the jam had All mod cons, setting sons, sound affects, and the Gift not to mention the singles and excellent B sides.

  • I adore the Jam and still blast their music from my car to this day which goes down a storm in the middle of Ohio. Bless their little cotton socks. But you can take a girl out of London but you cant take London out of a girl and I bloody love the Jam!!!!!

  • @Niamh1725 I blast The Jam while driving around North Carolina, got to educate people on proper music :-)

  • @bigredfan100 ......weeeeeeeeeee, I live in NC too, blasting theJam in my convertable. mmmm hhhmmmm*S*

  • Paul Weller looking so young, he still does these days. Great days. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • ive finished with clubs where the musics loud ..............

  • how many songs from back then sound as good /current now as when they were written?? that's a mark of just how fucking good The Jam were. true they did their fair share of middling stuff, but this is an epic- like many others.

    LEGENDS.

  • victoria st.

i go therte everday singing this stunning song

  • paul weller rocks

  • Brilliant stuff, much better than most of the Punk Era stuff,I mean some of it was brilliant but most of it was racket, these boys came along and added more class, and melody in,whilst retaining the raw energy!!!

  • Fucking Mustard!!..

  • Yay!

  • damn these guys were good !

  • love the tan tunic paul!!

Now Tell Me All Paul Weller Fans :

Who Can Sing ,Chew Gum AND Lipsynch but Our Very Own Paul Weller?!!

  • I think they were originally based more into punk but found their niche in the Mod revival and who took them too their hearts and likewise the Jam embraced that. After the Jam Weller had the fame to indulge himself with other stuff - good job really because he's brilliant.

  • I think Polydor are selling The Jam short calling them mod-revival! Yes, Weller is a mod, but they generated their own 'sound' by the middle of their career, and experimented with all sorts of genres in later years?! Would Secret Affair have brought out summat like 'The Planners Dream Went Wrong' or 'Pretty Green'?

  • I think the way they generally protrayed is selling them short. there's more to them than some blokes in suits trying to be mods. They're moere than the start of some fashion following or whatever. They're a band that actually had something to say.

  • ha ha they are in Barking

  • Sorry my dear but that Train station is NOT Barking (I know barking) it is Victoria. I have just seen some of your videos. You are very very fit.

  • Thanks. But why use the single most well traveled train stations to show "a strange town?"

At the end of Barking Market they have the best cash converters! No one knows about it!

  • Isn't that the point of the song? Even though it's a big place, it's strange because it doesn't feel like home and the people aren't friendly.

  • He's from WOKING though !!?? hahaha

  • You are right about Cash Converters . I bought a copy of Layer Cake on Blu Ray for £7 & got my mate a pair of Mission speakers for £25!. My guess re Strange Town is because Paul Weller comes from Woking London would be a Strange Town. Do you like the Pretty Things?

  • i've only heard the covers Bowie did on Pin Ups and when they profiled were on BBC show in April. I like the Tomorrow though! GROCER JACK!

  • thats not her mate. its er mam. i used to go to school with brick lane betty shes only 12.

    Only jokein betty :-))

  • Legends. They're bloody amazing, :)
