Merci you tube !
Certainly one of the best songs of Les Holroyd. Sorry the pictures with Woolly in it were there not a fact (1979). But Les did here his utmost very best to let the world make believe in 1979 the world has changed! And certainly it was...It was not any easy to make Woolly forget back then, in full punk/new wave/disco periods! Now in 2011, I have them both : John Lees and Les Holroyd's BJH still remaining....Please shake hands together in 2011.
Music made in heaven...when i first heard them in the early 80's, i realized then that in the past I had no idea what good music was all about...with all my respect to the other great legends of the 70's that I enjoyed
Cant help liking this song even though i was gutted woolly wolstenholme had left the band..this and `the song``sperratus` and `Capricorn` stand out tracks..the rest were instantly forgettable me thinks,,,Great song though, thanks for posting
Those people that say this is their last good LP must never have heard "Ring of Changes" That LP was every bit as good as this one in my humble opinion .
Alot of people say it's their last good album...and this is one of their best song here...
Z keyboards lack of complexity is clear here...it's not bad ...but you can't compare it with the Wooly Wolstenholme search of interesting and more complex sonorities...
In this album the band loose a part of his auto-demanding nature... they became a little bit less complexe with the departure of "Wooly"... they simplified their music...
But well 1979 is not 1976...a lot of bands were doin' the same :p
Two absolutely briliant tracks on this album, both by Les. This and 'The Song'. Never tire of those two songs. You you you you you can make the day seem right ~ love the echoing words on this song, and the Beatles reference ( that's what they say).
1979 without Woolly. Strange but oh so true. This was by far the best song of Les Holroyd in all those years I have followed the band. It is like a life time to follow BJH.

Hi Bobsytube, I think I have an explanation that will answer your concerns regarding why BJH never seemed to receive the recognition you and so many others think they deserved.
They never made it in USA, they had modest success in The UK, they became quite popular in Scandinavia and made it big in German speaking countries. Do you see the pattern here? Language my friend. They had an excellent ability to produce banal lyrics and it is rather difficult to distinguish one melody from the other.
But anyway, what a peaceful song, so it stays at heart since 1979 in my personal Top 100 Without pictures....The pictures are very far,but the song......Dat hou ik indachtig sinds 1979!!!
Very strange this Master piece came from Les Holroyd (great against John Lees), never to be being played in 1979 by Woolly ....It was much more from the heart than BJH XII I think. never forget Les Holroyd was at his best, when Woolly quit....Who was taking the synths????
Les Played this last month at Geneve Switzerland he still sound so good
and he's a great man too he spoke to everyone after the show and gave his autograph, such a sensitive man. I was so happy to talk to him personally as I am a fan from 1982
I remember the first time I heard it on the radio, the DJ said this song "Out-Pinked" Pink Floyd...and it's been one of my favorites for the past 29 years.
As usual with BJH, who I loved when I was young, a very good song spoilt once again by Mel what'sisname's leaden wooden drumming, he should have set up his drum kit in Royston Vasey and played with Creme Brulee.
OOOHHH; just brilliant, goes so deep into ya !! I dont know what it is, but it seem to touch strings inside you dont even know is there until BJH brings it forth. Amazing !!
I've got more than 1,000 records in my collection. Most are from the 70's and the 80's. I used to write many album reviews years ago. This is folks one of the two best albums ever made. Les Holroyd at his best.
