J'écoutais ça en 1980, quelques années plus tard, mon ex que je venais de quitter, a piqué mes cassettes et je n'avais plus entendu BJH depuis ce temps là, c'est-à-dire depuis plus de 20 ans ! En réécoutant "Play to the World " l'une des plus belles chansons du groupe, j'ai eu à nouveau 15 ans ! Merci you tube !

Certainly one of the best songs of Les Holroyd. Sorry the pictures with Woolly in it were there not a fact (1979). But Les did here his utmost very best to let the world make believe in 1979 the world has changed! And certainly it was...It was not any easy to make Woolly forget back then, in full punk/new wave/disco periods! Now in 2011, I have them both : John Lees and Les Holroyd's BJH still remaining....Please shake hands together in 2011.

Those people that say this is their last good LP must never have heard "Ring of Changes" That LP was every bit as good as this one in my humble opinion .

Alot of people say it's their last good album...and this is one of their best song here...

Z keyboards lack of complexity is clear here...it's not bad ...but you can't compare it with the Wooly Wolstenholme search of interesting and more complex sonorities...

In this album the band loose a part of his auto-demanding nature... they became a little bit less complexe with the departure of "Wooly"... they simplified their music...

But well 1979 is not 1976...a lot of bands were doin' the same :p

Hi Bobsytube, I think I have an explanation that will answer your concerns regarding why BJH never seemed to receive the recognition you and so many others think they deserved.

They never made it in USA, they had modest success in The UK, they became quite popular in Scandinavia and made it big in German speaking countries. Do you see the pattern here? Language my friend. They had an excellent ability to produce banal lyrics and it is rather difficult to distinguish one melody from the other.

Very strange this Master piece came from Les Holroyd (great against John Lees), never to be being played in 1979 by Woolly ....It was much more from the heart than BJH XII I think. never forget Les Holroyd was at his best, when Woolly quit....Who was taking the synths????

and he's a great man too he spoke to everyone after the show and gave his autograph, such a sensitive man. I was so happy to talk to him personally as I am a fan from 1982
