  • If you will notice it has the old bumpers. Nice elevator.

  • Yes, this is a nice elevator, and I too see the bumpers.

  • Somewhat.

  • Is this building built on a hill?

  • That's correct.

  • 4000 lbs is 2 tons.

  • Well, they have the markings "Open front/close front" on the lower panel with the alarm bell & stop switch, and on the top panel, it has "Open rear/close rear".

  • How do you tell the front from the rear controls if both sets have the line between the arrows?

  • Maybe it was in the OFF left position, and has to be turned while pushing the button.

  • Or maybe it was turned to the LEFT of the OFF position. Am I right, or was it in the ON "Right" position?

  • So are you saying that you hold the button while turning the cylinder?

  • Yes, they could have gone with a higher end cab, but maybe they wanted to go basic.

  • Basic elevator.

  • No. It only turns when an administrative worker turns the switch and presses button A to get to the office level.

  • Hello? It's a key cylinder! They don't turn by themselves.

  • Or maybe it has to be on when in order to press the button, and then turn off when it reaches that floor.

  • No it is not. For proof, watch "Dover Elevator at Cinemark Theater" or "Another Dover Elevator at Cinemark Theater."

  • Actually the on position is on the top, while the off position is to the right, and the key was in the right (off) position.

  • A was unlocked because the key was in the "on" position.

  • All right. It's a very nice city.

  • I've been there. I love Austin...I'm moving there someday.

  • I meant which controls controls which door? And is it true that this elevator follows the universal arrangement of rear controls on top and front on bottom?

  • Levels B, *1, 2, and A are front opening, but 1R is the only rear floor, which leads to the street level.

  • If they don't label, how do you tell the front controls from the rear?

  • Thank you very much, but still the Capitol Building elevators are even nicer and lovelier.

  • Nice elevator
