A 450R and the 250R are neck and neck in power. But, the 250 is lighter and shorter. Still no comparison between 2's and 4's, 2 strokes SMOKE this new EFI enviormentally friendly 4 stroke junk.

@wabashofutah first of all the enviormental thing goes both way. any 03 or newerrace bke is red stikered.second of all, 450s are far more powerfull.i own a yz 250f and a kx 250 and the 250f has more power. third four strokes are now lighter,but still behind in acceleration. dont elieve me? lok up thespecs for a 2012 yz250f and a yz250. four stokes about 5 pounds lighter

Sorry man but a 250f of similar specs will never be faster or lighter than a 250. If you knew anything about engines or mechanics you would know this without thinking.

@MxRider721 actualy look at a 2011 yz 250 and yz250f specs on bikes.com my kx250 weighs about5 pounds more than my yz250f

2011 YZ250's weigh more than they used to. Manufacturers are constantly finding ways to make their 250f's better, where as they are not putting any focus into two stroke 250's. So naturally 250f's well begin to shed weight and 250's remain the same. Except for the YZ250 which now weighs more (who knows why.) If they put the same amount of focus into the 250's, they would weigh a lot less.
