@Mainehorse Depends, This show it's not required (you can go to any Arabian "A" show and lower without qualifications) However, You must qualify for any Regional and National Arabian show with the horse AND/OR rider for the classes.
@sleepingdead It's a lot of fun! With Steve (the chestnut) I got a top ten in Hunter Pleasure, 3rd in Hunter Equitation, and 1st in English Sidesaddle. And with Sparky (black) I got top tens in my Country Pleasure and Show hack classes :)

@totalhunterjumper It was the big Scottsdale Arabian show that was in mid/early February----It's that huge one they have every year (I think it's the biggest arab show in the country) -What do you show in?
Hey so we put vetwrap stuff on- We braid the tails-leaving out some tail to about the hock so they can still use there tail and then braid the rest from end of dock down then thread it back up through where you started and loop it through a couple times till it makes a nice "snub" lol just so they can still use it to whack around then you thread the wrap through and twist it all around then gradually wrap it up-
... It stays in longer if you twist and loop it before you wrap it normal and voila-- Hope that helps!!! :) oh and we just use a little cowboy magic on them - maybe you could put something that taste bad but not bad to injest on there tails so they don't chew them maybe??

i think they are changing how they rate the shows but its just basically the A shows qualify you for the USDF regional championships if you get the scores you need but there are certain shows you have to go to to qualify for for the North American Junior Young Rider Championships, and FEI Pony Finals and bigger/national shows like that.
We arent sure when our next show is at this point but ill probably show my mare at an open dressage show in March, and then hopefully take my gelding to the region 7 championships in April. We have a bunch of little local schooling shows in between that i take our other horses to or to ride through tests with tino or little z befor a bigger show
How are the dressage show rated? Like where does it start and go up from? I don't really know about dressage shows...other than like how your judged from like TV lol and the different judging verses eventer shows

No unfortunatly :( my camera decided it didnt want to work anymore and i didnt have my mom there to video for me like she usually does, i think i got a few pictures of our barns horses in the stalls and a few of the halter mares but that was it.
yeah :( but im definatly going again next year though and taking at least one more horse since its my last year as a junior rider and my mom should be there to video and stuff for me, my western trainer who i went with was going to video for me but he was showing halter during my tests or right befor and he just came over to the ring to watch really fast befor he had to go run one of the horses to the class so videoing didnt work out.
ill take Valentino (the horse i took this year) and my mare her name is Zahrefox (little z) for sure. Im hoping to take a lower level dressage horse that i could ride equitation on as well (his name is Midnight) we will see how everything goes though gotta work stuff out with that horses owner but i think we will be able to take him to. And my mom really wants me to take Indy our recue horse but im not sure he will be ready for scottsdale yet.
