anyone play fretless bass? is it just remembering how far down the neck you go? cuz theres no idication on what fret your hitting. it boggles my mind.

@notmefuckingname Fretless bass is really an ear thing. When you start off, you usually mark the neck with a piece of colored tape to show where to put your finger, like a fret. After you get better, and you develop muscle memory and a better ear for hearing the intervals, then most people take the tape off.

Ever seen them live? If not go and see them, until then you can't say anything. And i bet you are the kind of guy that saw the title and was like "Sweet two hits and the joint turned brown, i better check this out." You can be escorted out by security and jeff can sing goodbye farewell to you.

@Zeke420 while i agree with you that energy and vibe is CRUCIAL to a good show...sometimes its even more important than the music...but not often. I did see the title of the song and i clicked on it because i figured anyone playing such a great John Hartford tune deserves a listen...why would i be escorted out by security for simply stating that the banjo solo wasn't very good? i mean a fact is a fact..i have no beef with Jeff...he's a good picker and was not the subject of my original comment.

What dealings have you had with jeff to call him a dick? Ii'm a huge yonder fan, so i am biased. But he's an excellent musician and an energetic front man. I've only met him once, but he came off as very humble and happy to meet his fans. Took time after his show to sit and talk with anyone who wanted. Listen to any random live show off of archive and on everyone you will hear him say how grateful he is for his fans and to do what he does for a living. Doesn't sound like a dick to me
