this message is for the the average listener - The recording studio covers most singer's weakness and corrects their pitch but this man was so unique that his voice sounded much better live! Now that is very rare, it's usually the other way around. His voice was simply magic.

I have heard the recordings of Mukesh and Lata in during the concerts in London and found that the song they sung during the concerts were a bit different from the original ones. It was also difficult for them to remember thousands of songs..In one of the interview to BBC, Rafi Saab also admitted that he could remember only those songs that were hit...

Such deviation is obvious and there should be no doubt about the genuineness of this song.

This is 100% Mohd.Rafi saheb's voice. A copycat cant sing with his own innovative style. Normally live shows performace is not as good as studios recording with perfect musicians .

Whenever Rafi Sahab sang in Films He used to adopt the tone according to the Actor but when He sang the same song live He used to sing open throated and in His own original voice.. His voice in all of His live songs sounds the same..

Thanks for sharing this. This simply tells us that Rafi Sahib was human after all. He seems like he is over exerting his voice here a bit and that mostly happens when a singer cant hear himself sing and he got the words wrong as well. One may when one sings songs in thousands. He was a trained recording artist. Watch his live version of Baharon Phool in You tube. Simply magical.

I've been listening these old songs on radio since my childhood because there was tredition to play radio in our house in punjab which is in india. These songs are in my blood.I recognize these great voices.This is only Mohd. Rafi Sahib and I salute him from my soul for giving us so many melodious songs. Yes thats right and this was one of his last concerts. His voice was deteriorating in his final days. He finally died of a heart attack. May Allah rest his soul in peace. Anyway he had already done so much magic with his voice that he does not really needed to proove himself.

Those who doubt that this is Rafi saab singing must listen to Mohd Rafi-Live round the world. while singing live he takes liberties but the songs in the album are well composed. The intonation in this song does appear a little skewed even to a great Rafi fan like me.Quite a few of his live recordings do sound different for instance his rendition of khilona jan kar which i heard on you tube
