You forget, as any culture can begin development only after the start of economic and agrarian activity. So by a heart for start to development of all African agrarian cultures of tropical agriculture could be only agrarian culture of Abyssinia. I think most people including here in africa Dont understand that there were no borders.Why is it if one with a thorough knowledge of self to see his role ,not just in civilization but in the universe.People want to limit afrikans and can't concieve the fact that we overstood the relation of the universe within self , which i can show and prove to anyone , however a true knowledge of self is neccessary to continue as a people because without we are mentally dead.

I know about colonial history and the virtual borders created. In fact the sense of cultural belonging was to some extent fluid in some areas of the continent when there was no conflict among ethnic groups, tribes or political entities people would cross the lines in terms of marriage or exchange. However ethnic belonging is the safest bet to know ones origin. and yes those entities I am talking about existed previous to the arrival of Europeans.

well i know a white historian who said the ancient moors were orginally black. the ancient egyptians were black.

The race of the historian isn't the point. You said they were black ok well what was their ethnic backgroungs meaning languages, name by which they referred to themselves? What was transmitted to us by ancient Kemet and Herodotus about them? What are the cultural artefacts found in the region left behind by those people. All of this gives us an approximate answer to several questions.

go back 100,000 years ago and beyond. also there are artifacts in museum of france showcasing the ancient black kemetians and moors. statues in egypt were also torn down because they were undeniably black. the noses are missing on many statues because the noses showed black phenotyope.

Besides we are not talking about the different people found in upper and lower Egypt. I am talking about the people of what is present day Maghreb. They are the descendants of different people came into contact approximately 10 000 years ago. And where named Ribu by the Egyptians 3000+ years ago.

I heard those theories and trust me a lot of them are twisted or just half truths. In the best of cases we don't know anything about the real soidentity of the -called Olmecs among others. They are still mysteries of the past that need to be looked at in debt.

Do Bantus feel any connections between each other, like when Russia protected Serbia during WWI because of Slavic identity? Or is the tribe or ethnic group the largest identity (aside from foreign religions or artificial borders). I ask because you said many Bantu groups use the word "Bantu."

African Americans tend to identify with peoples of African descent because our tribal, linguistic, and ethnic identities have been lost.

The identification to Bantu groupings is quite recent. In the past people did only identify along ethnic or tribal lines. In the 20th century as people got to know about living thousands of kilometres away and political borders took shape people started identifying as Bantus. However that's not always the case in a country like the DRC and central Africa the identification is stronger than lets say South Africa.

The different Bantu ethnicities always used the term Bantu or it's derivative such as Abantu to mean people. But ethnicities and tribe play mostly a role because of political or social problems nowadays.

From my personal experience I've noticed that people in West Africa see things differently. People might identify with sub groupings such as that of the Mande. And than again you might not always have that.

People who are recently emancipating such as the Berbers show huge solidary among themselves that goes beyond borders. the Imazhig of Algeria show huge support for the Tuaregs who are at war and discriminated in Mali and Niger (I am going to talk about this later).

You get this info from news or books? I'm interested. I've been trying to find out about the situation with Arabs in northern Africa and their relations with Berbers and other African groups.

I get these informations from several sources, African based journals such as "Jeune Afrique", radio stations such RFI, TV programms on french or pan African channels such as "telesud". I also had Malian, senegalese channels and i had kabylle friends from Algeria who actually mentioned the mistreatments of Tuaregs in those countries. I also look at websites and there also videos of manifestation in Paris.
