I would prefer to realise the moon base in another way. Make it the Mars Direct way (as Bob Zubrin explained it in his book "The Case for Mars" (dt. "Unternehmen Mars"). That would be much more effective. ... and with solar engergy it is not very effective, nuclear energy is the solution.
