  • shahcolateTHUNDER (6:47)

Is it ok to wear paper bags to lose weight? I notice wrestlers do this all the time.

im sur you mean a platic bag, but yes scott it does dehydrate the muscles but it also helps up your body temp causing more calories to burn

  • nice..

  • hey scott and sean i've been lifting weights for a while now but have stopped seeing results in my chest i tried changing my routine up and eating more and healthier but it didnt work is there anything else i can do by the way im 5 4 and weigh 110 i'm an ectomorph

  • I know it depends on our diet and our genetics or whatever, but if im bulking up with a good diet and supplements, how much weight should I gain in a month? like at least... just for an idea.

  • gr8 info! thumz up

  • @Imran92693

  • @Imran92693

didn't mean to be pissy, mate, it's just that to find the helpful comments i always have to wade through loads about his shirt. he wears a shirt in other videos as well, not that it matters, these videos aren't about fashion or clothing. ;)

  • The way my body reacts and how I feel the most burns is doing as much as I can and for 8-16 reps for any muscle I'm working out on. The once I reach to what goal of mass I want I just control my diet to a diet for getting for lean. I'm 6'3 and 210 lbs, I don't know if I should way less then this but I want your opinion, And how I reached your goal was using all your technics and I use some of your diet plans. All because of you I have reached my dream body. ~You most sincere Hermanite AJ.

  • hey scott, so i want to gain muscle but i want to maintain my body fat% not increse or decrease but i wana be the same all year round, accept in summer for the beach lol, in summer i would want to lose about 2 kilos each year b4 summer, so i can realy see my 6 pac abs. but all year round i would still wana see my 6 pac abs cause i wana stay the same body fat % all year round acept summer that i lose 1 to 2 kilos of fat not muscle, what do i do thanks :)

  • @mnoy91 it will be hard as hell for you to build muscle and maintain a six pack, which is why most fitness models and athletes have off and on seasons, off season is mass building, on is cutting season. You should also check out my channel, cuz i have free fitness videos that will help you stay motivated, lose weight and get in shape! • Great video sharing! :o)

  • hey, scott. you do not know anything about steroids. you only get that gut taking inulin, igf-2. so, lol, jakes on you...

  • im realy sick, and i workout monday to thursday, friday sat and sun rest, but the last time i went gym was thursday, and its now wednesday and i still feel like shit, and i will probly go back to the gym monday, so thats about 10 days rest, will i lose muscle ?

oh and i havent been eating much

  • @mnoy91 you should be resting if your sick, training whilst sick takes alot of strain on your immune system which is why you still sick, try keep your protein levels up and drink loads of water to help maintain your muscles,

  • @skopex18 thanks mate :) so if i dont workout for along time like lets just say 4 weeks, will i lose muscle then? or can i keep maintaining my muscle if i keep eating right?

  • @mnoy91 if you eat right and keep having that protein every 3 hours you will maintain your muscle if you do loose any it will only be water anyways.ive been off gym for 2 weeks now with a broken knuckle ive lost about 3 lbs but 1 week of that i was in spain on the piss lol.so you should be ok.just rest dude.then when your recoverd go in that gym and dominate those wieghts!!

  • haha :P

    thanks mate :)

  • @mnoy91

because of shoulder injury, i didnt go gym about 2 weeks, lost a lot of muscle.

  • oh no that sucks man, i heard if you lose muscle you can quickly gain it back to where you were, is that true?

  • @mnoy91 yeah if your sick and you take a 10 day break and don't eat that much you will lose a little bit of muscle, but don't worry as soon as you get back in the gym it will come back. If you have any questions you should post them on my channel or videos cuz I answer subscriber questions in my fitness advice videos. I also have free fitness videos that will help you stay motivated, lose weight and get in shape! , so if you like them please sub and have a good one :)

  • @FitnessBody4L thanks :)

  • Working out while beeing sick could be really dangerous, not such a good advice at all. I got sick and laid in bed for 3 weeks, but finally when i felt like 100% i slowly started working out and now my muscles are up to what they were and i feel great. just be patient and wait for your body.

  • This guy was in the Real World?

  • I think athletes use plastic bags to get rid of alchohol from there body i know footballers do that.

  • I would argue that if you are sick with the flu or cold you should work out at home. Don't spread your virus to others at the gym. But the positive thinking is good advice.

  • "PPFT .. I don't want that problem"

    LOL

  • hey sean and scott, thx so much for answering my question.

  • Yeah Micheal Phelps eats a lot of calories, you hear about that a lot his 10,000 calories

  • Hey Scott, it is better to do drop sets for building mass, or is better for muscle definition?

  • what kind of body type are you, and are all your workouts for everyone or just your body type?

  • Hi Scott, I was wondering how many workouts you did everyday or everymonth. Ryan Howell in Atlanta GA.

  • I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel :)

  • Scott could you do a video on how to fix uneven pecs and arms and such? would really appreciate it

  • sean ur hair looks much sexier in dis video than ep 1!!! sexy buzz

  • Scott & Sean:

I'm Mohamed whom asked about the natural bodubuilding limit, thanks for your reply.

  • @mody20081986 Your welcome :)

  • so your 170? how tall are you?

  • how do u get to learn what your body needs Im clue less about that i find that kind of difficult :/

  • Scott where do I get that shirt man?!

  • Hey Scott, i have 2 questions, im 16 years, can i start building mass and strength? Can i start taking whey protein? Thank you :)

  • Scott you should do a reverse beat me down, where you beat Sean down! lol

  • oh yea. and Sean.. look into the cam when not your turn. or beat up the lil guy.. something :)

  • haircut !

  • Want to submit a question? QUESTIONS@SCOTTHERMANFITNESS[.]COM

  • Scott i just gained like 12x more respect for you. way to not fall into peer pressure(for the most part) i always have a little bit more respect for someone who chooses not to drink/smoke. good job =)

  • nice. never thought sean's that HHHOOOTTT especially when he pulls up his sleeve from 7:54 - 7:56. scott, can he do the next workout video next time, please? =)

  • I think its funny when people are wearing plastic bags to lose weight there going to gain it right back and most people only do this to get down to weight for competition.

  • Love these Q&A guys, very knowledgeable, how would I go about submitting a question for the next episode?

  • Hey Scott Im the same way working out is way more better at night way more peaceful and I as well wrestle at 152, and Just curious where'd you go to high school at?

  • What can I do if I mentally CANNOT control myself from ordering pizza sometimes at like 3 in the morning. When my mind decides I want a certain food, I will start shaking if I don't have it...as if I'm pregnant or something. I am a guy, six foot one, and 200 lbs. Not TOO out of shape I think...but if I could just find a way to kill the urge...

  • @OmgwtfwtfOmg try drinking something instead. in one of Scott's videos he mentions how many times the hunger urge is a false urge and can be relieved simply by drinking something that will fill you so you arent hungry.

  • Hi Scott, I was a competitive gymnast since i was 5 years old, i am now 18. i think i kinda have too much muscle on my body that i kinda look like a ninja turtle. is their anyway i can lose muscle and lean out my body? Love your videos, and workouts you give out, thanks!

  • @onefinelaugh Thats easy, do a lot of cardio. Preferably low intensity but long duration.

  • Hello Scott and Sean

I really would like to see in the next Q&A you explaining the basics of Nutrition!

    .

Because what seems basic for you is not for some of us

(Eg. 5:16 - Eat a a lot of carbs after workout)

    .

Also I heard some1 say "If Carbs did not exist, there would be no obesity in the world", or something like it. So till how much g´s of carbs is it Ok to eat and not gain fat/belly fat ? / same with the amount of calories.

Ty Very much. and Keep the good work =)

  • @xxxAlain

    To Gain Muscle Mass !!!

  • Good shit boys!

  • " and thats my story..shaun?" hahahah

  • Hi Scott, You've been giving excellent advice in these videos but I have to take exception to the question asked about working out when you are sick. When your body is fighting the flu or a cold virus it needs to recover. At most a moderate workout is permissible and that's only IF there is no fever. I can't seem to post links but a g00gle search for 'working out while sick' will return some excellent advice from CNN and Web MD.

  • @msting0100 yes. I agree I am sure DEPENDING on the sickness :) But for your average cold or something like that. We should have been a bit more clear. Thanks for the response though!

  • @msting0100 I would have to agree with that. Being a nurse, I see a ton of people when they're ill who are just completely fatigued after doing simple tasks, and it would simply not be possible for them to work out (especially if you have the flu/ stomach virus, strep throat). not to mention, going to the gym to work out while sick poses a risk of other gym members catching the same infection as you may already have. covered a cough and washing your hands will only do so much to protect others

  • om nom nom nom <3

  • u guys r awsm!!!!

  • @coolboy065 yeahhhh cool boy!

  • Hey Scott, what do you think of German Volume Training? Is it good for building mass and strength, or will all mass gains be "non-functunal"?

  • @MastodonMonkey Send me a link on the community page! never heard of it :)

  • @ScottHermanFitness I think it's also called 10 of 10. Just 10 sets of 10 reps. Not sre why you'd do it

  • lol i have found that the best way to get a bigger chest, arm and shoulders is by performing squats and all variations of deadlifts

  • holy shit, you dont drink? i dont know how you do it, props to you...

  • scotthermanfitness; how many protein shakes should i take per day?

  • @king08ish uh dude protein shakes are just a supplement, ONLY take them when you have no access to real food. Protein shakes arent any magical formulas that make you grow, your overall diet and training regime determine that, stick to real whole foods when you can and only use protein shakes for convenience, such as after you are done your workout and need a quick influx of calories, protein, carbs, and essential vitamin , minerals and nutrients since liquids digest faster

  • @Alive4Metal

actually a SUPPLEMENT is something that you take with another thing . like food . what you're thinking about is a replacement. a replacement is something you take when u have no access to real food.

  • @LOLZThatsWhatSheSaid wow you have no life... supplement... supplements your diet, they can be used as replacement, blah blah, want a darwin award?

  • Fasting - Good or bad? I’ve been on a clean bulking diet whilst doing a beginner 5x5 workout routine for 6 months now. Whilst I definitely look and feel stronger, I’ve still got a small “pot belly” which gives off that skinny-fat look. Within the coming weeks once I reach my goal of 180lbs (at 5 ft 9) I plan to cut down by creating a caloric deficit by adding cardio after every workout and making slight adjustments to my diet. Would you recommend fasting to speed up my cutting process?

  • @danmasey no you've got the right idea of adding a little cardio after your workout and changing the diet. By fasting you'd do two things:

    1. by not having food you're forcing those hard gained muscles which require energy to get the energy somewhere else, so your body breaks down it's own muscles to do this

    2. Not eating tricks the body into going into starvation mode. It thinks, hang on, I'm not getting any food so it slows down the metabolism and any food eaten after that is

  • Comment removed

  • @danmasey more likely to be stored as fat. Just get a good meal plan and add a little cardio buddy :)

  • @mkyb242 @mkyb242 Thanks for the reply. You see I was under the exact same impression as you up until a month ago I read through 3 sites which are extremely convincing in de-bunking those myths. Have a read through these: "Leangains" & "Eat Stop Eat".

Having read through those, I think fasting can be effective. I’d love to hear other people’s opinions including Scott’s on this though.

  • @danmasey Looked at the sites, seems interesting. Personally I love to eat every 2-3 hrs, fasting for a day and I would feel and probably act very irritable :) Let me know how it goes if you decide to do it.

  • @KeithJD7290 that beacus i have the right knowledge about training, training is simpel, but these "gurues" are making it complicated ! get a good program, eat right, and train hard. Thats how you get the body you want :) i must say, all the former videos of Scott were great !! he had good advices, but now, i feel like he just makes thing up, like the exercises, but thats all me ! by all means, you have all the right to mean anything else :)

  • @alvium but if you burn away all the calories to loose fat, where does the muscle get calories from ? hahahah, stop living the dream that you only need protein.

  • Scott Herman doesn't get infected with the flu. The flu gets infected with Scott Herman

  • What happened to HD?

  • This is Shane here thanks again lads:)

  • @lassekkk actually if you workout using heavy weights and eat a lot of protein and if doing circuits trainning, you can make your metabolism faster, and lose weight without gainning any fat, you are not going to lose weight because the muscle you are bulding weight, but you are still losing fat, maybe you can go read a book about fitness and stop making comments with dumb information

  • @lassekkk that's a good point in all fairness, scott is still fitness advice king though!

  • @lees2oo8 yeah he got a good deal of very good advices, but in my oppinion, he got some wrong info, and many of theese exercises he posts, like the golf swing, and camel pull or whatever, is not good exercises, in my meaning he only do it for the views, but thats me :)

  • @lassekkk The golf swing is an excellent core building exercise thanks!

  • @lassekkk depending on the amount of weight you want to gain.. actually yes. You can DROP FAT while Gaining muscle. Especially when beginners first start working out. Their weight stays around the same but their bodies are transforming as they are losing fat and gaining muscle from eating properly

  • @ScottHermanFitness i agree Scott, that is exactly what has happened to me. my weight stayed relatively the same but i notice i am more cut

  • @ScottHermanFitness True! I lost weight while bulking up. It was very interesting.

  • @lassekkk what about 100 meters athletes?

they have almost no fat, and they are more bulked than Scott.

  • @lassekkk just got owned?

  • @lassekkk hahahah u got text slapped by scott foool!

  • @JustCauseVids yeah wow, it hurts....

  • @lassekkk You can lose fat while bulking up. I have bulked up and have lost around 15 total pounds. All that matters for me is that I intake enough protein to maintain my muscle mass and bulk but as far as total calories go, i eat a couple hundred more than I should to just drop weight. Works for me. Plus, as you build muscle you burn more calories a day because your metabolism increases. Now if you mean mr olympia body building, then you are right. But how many of us are body builders.

  • @lassekkk

weight and fat are different things. You can weigh more but lose fat. Your right if your bulking up you shouldn't really be losing weight. But you can lose BODY FAT while putting on weight.

  • 4:03

    Sean: you're gonna be 140.

    Scott: HAHA! I HOPE NOT!

hey... I'm that weight .... ok case and point lol.
