You know that if you had quieter hubs, you could have won more races. Simple as that. Cos if you EVER stop pedalling, these slow you down and SCREEEAAM that they are doing it. Win more races, you could afford new hubs. Circular.

could someone tell me the difference between my cheap wal-mart hub and this one because my hub seem to spin much longer then this one and i assuming that longer mean less pedaling =)

@OLDSKOOL559 The biggest advantage the King hubs have over other hubs is the instant engagement they provide. When you start pedalling, you’re energy is instantly being put into the wheel’s rotation. There is pretty well zero dead space. Although your Wal-Mart hub may be good for you and your needs, I have king hubs in my quiver that have 9 solid years of racing on them and are still going strong. The Wal-Mart hubs would not have lasted the first season – no joke.

@kenneth1234567889 the chris king hub has a lot of engagement pins and pawls so its just like a regular but like times 2

@eric9021090210 The king hub is different to other hubs. Instead of pawls it has two toothed plates on splines, one being spring loaded. When the hub engages all 72 points engage at once, unlike a pawl system where three or four teeth are grabbed by the pawls sticking out. It makes ratchet a lot less likely to be damaged, which can be a problem on hubs with lots of engagement points.
