i dont know about you guys, but i find this a very emotional song to play. and i can tell by 2 mins mr guitar is getting into just like i do. such an epic song, and your version was spot on. well done boys

To all you folks that think they should be making a ton of money playing music I tell you, that would do nothing but spoil the pure feeling your getting from them as they play for nothing! Most people that play only for the money are the ones you don't want to listen to!
Mike and Jeff, Keep doing it the way your doing it! It gives your performances an honesty that commercial music will never have!
A friend on Facebook shared this song on his page. I spent over an hour listening to your covers last night. Most of them 3 or 4 times each. You guys are amazing. I don't know what I'd do without music.
Listened to a couple of covers and have been very impressed by both the quality and the selection of songs. Well done. And now if I may, I think you would do a great cover of "If you could read my mind" by Gordon Lightfoot. Heard it in the movie "Wonderland" the other day. Anyways, Cheers.
I'm having guitar lessons at the moment and my tutor and I studied this performance. I've probably put about 75+ of these views onto the counter. Just simply astounding rendition of a beautiful record.
Please can you do a cover of 'Can't you see' by the Marshall Tucker Band... Pretty please.... pretty pretty please....
@stardusted100 Cool. Please know that to play this the "right" way, you'd have to Capo the 6th fret and play it in Am (rather than the 4th fret Bm I use here). This is one of the few songs that I intentionally play "wrong". :)
'can't you see' is one of my top three all time favorite songs....but my number one song is 'seeing things for the first time' by the black crows.....please do that one and post it !!!!!

Covers aren't better or worse, just different (hopefully). There are covers by Mike and Jeff which I enjoy more than the orignals and in some cases I don't even like the originals at all. And in fairness, there are some songs that Mike and Jeff cover that I prefer the original (not many). Personal preference doesn't determine "better" or "worse".
@dw4571 Umm about four years now, all self taught with many days spent doing nothing but playing. It's my passion and has taken flight. Thank you for the kind words friend!
HEY-stop saying it's better than the original; nothing is ever better than originals since the artist is the one who gave us the music in the first place with their own unique style.
That said I thought this was a nice cover. Good job.
@SuperWhofan1 Yeah, that's obviously the ultimate compliment, but I agree. There are some covers out there that I prefer to the original (Van Halen did some good ones in the David Lee Roth days, e.g.), but no cover is ever "better" than the original, since without the original, there could be no cover.
@mikemassedotcom I hate to say but I have to disagree. Just because another artist composed / wrote the original peace doesn't mean the artistic and emotional interpretation another artist could infuse into the song are limited to the subjective "greatness" of the original peace. It's certainly rare, but its certainly not impossible.
@Enyardose Covers might be greatness...but no cover in the history of music has ever been deemed better than the original, thats a fact. Like it was stated before, without the original, there would be no cover for u to "say" is better
@mikemassedotcom Precisely! I'm always saying that the best of a song will always come from its origins because they created it and it was they who wrote the song before anyone else.
@mikemassedotcom i have to ask, what are the chords (or chord formations) used in the song and on which fret is the capo placed? I assume its the 4th fret but from the video quality, it's hard to tell. And I would rather know the formation of the fingers placed on the frets, like whether its in a Dmaj shape or C7 and so on and so forth, not the actually chord being played. I suppose you understand what I mean lol
@SuperWhofan1 I prefer to not play around with semantics and just come out and say that: Yes, in my opinion, many of Mike's covers are better, and sometimes much better, than the originals. Like it or not, I really don't care.
@SuperWhofan1 This is an overwhelmingly accepted argument, yet it fails to really qualify as a valid one. Composition and interpretation are two separate things; either that, or you'd have to accept that Puccini would sing Nessun Dorma better than Pavarotti and Andrew L. Webber could outscream Neeley and Gillan in Jesus Christ Superstar. If a cover is more technically precise and better conveys the emotion of the composition, then it's superior. Exposure effect might make you believe otherwise.
@SuperWhofan1 i dont agree. Some covers ARE better than the originals. I could name quite a few examples. Say for example jimi hendrix cover of along the watchtower vs the original by bob dylan. Hendrix' cover blew the original by dylan away.
@SuperWhofan1 Hmm, okay... So no cover can be better than the original?...So you like Bob Dylans All Along The Watchtower better than Hendrix's cover?.... I sure dont. Have you hear ''Hurt'' by Johnny Cash? He didnt make that one. Listen to the original by Trent Reznor. Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin, one of her best songs....Oh wait, she didnt make it. Listen to the original it's TERRIBLE. After Midnight by Eric Clapton is pure class. He did not make that song. JJ Cale did.
@SuperWhofan1 While its an OPINION if if i deem a song is better then the origional. I personally think this is right there with the origional.
one good example of a cover that better then the origional would be Hurt by Trent Reznor. now when Trent himself says that the cover johnny cash did is better then his i tend to agree.
another good example is Mad World by Tears for Fears. the Gary Jules version is everything that song should have been.
im Pedro from Brazil. i really appreciate your tallent. congratulations!
i would like to know whats your voice's and guitar equipment, pedal boards? (wich?)... i am trying to find a better (but not expensive) sound to play live in small places. thanks! keep rockin, man! [sorry my bad english] ;)
You are amazing, you've brilliantry mastered the harmonies of Simon&Garfunkel's fantastic song, may musicians like you be heard of and promoted instead of the trashy pop we hear today on the radio.
You set a new standard for live acoustic perfomers on YOU TUBE. No one in their right mind would even consider posting their performaces after seeing yours. WOW!!
This is a beautiful and heartfelt performance of one of the best songs ever written. By far and away the best cover of this I've ever heard. Amazing!

You are amazing, you've brilliantry mastered the harmonies of Simon&Garfunkel's fantastic song, may musicians like you be heard of and promoted instead of the trashy pop we hear today on the radio.
Well done :)
