  • @Mikeof7 Again, it's because the 2002-2005 has a "stiffer", larger airbag with less give. In most crashes, the 2006+ model's airbag would be safer, allowing lower forces on the head. However, in this severe, unusual crash, the 2002-2005 airbag is better as its extra stiffness keeps the dummy's head away from the wheel.

    As for the ACE body structure? Yes, the 2006 structure held up better, but the 2002-2005 structure did not hold up poorly; indeed, it held up fairly well.
